The Circus

Adeline~

I looked up at Chase with tears in my eyes. "I don't want you to get hurt either but what if something happens and we're apart? What would we do then. I wouldn't know if you were hurt!" I started to cry more and buried my head into his chest. His arms wrapped around me tighter.
"Where are we even supposed to go?" I asked through sobs. "Do we go with the rest of them or do we separate ourselves?" I didn't want to leave them behind either. They were my family.
I tilted my head up to Chase again. We stared at each other for a minute. His eyes were alight with passion. I stood on my tip-toes and kissed him like I'd wanted to do for so long now. He seemed surprised at first but he kissed back. I smiled under his lips.

Lark

"I found the others I just can't find.... Wait, why did she faint?" I asked Dent, who was screaming into the ground.

I ran into the tent, not waiting for an answer and instantly started coughing. I always had weak lungs and the smoke filling the tent wasn't helping them at all. I didn't have to stay in much longer when I saw the dark form on the bed and instatly figured out what happened.

I emerged from the tent, still coughing and spluttering. I sank to my knees beside Dent.

"Why? Why her? She really loved Cowboy, though so maybe it'll be for the better... for them," I whispered to Dent who was now mumbling his anger rather than shouting it anymore.

Rogue (Robyn)

Adeline and Chase were kissing.... it was gross to me because they were both like my brother and sister.

"Oh, God... I'm leaving." I stood up, not caring that it made me wounds open and blood pour down my back.

'have a little mercy geez you two.' I glared at them, making sure the message was sent loud and clear into their minds and then I stalked off blood following me behind.

Chase

I broke the kiss for a moment to watch Rogue go. I knew why she couldn't stand us being together, after all, she did think of us as one big family. But for some of us, it was different. I was fairly sure this kind of stuff was happening among others in the circus, and it was a definite thing for Adeline and I.

"Grow up, Rogue," I laughed, then kissed Adeline again. Somehow, the combination of Rogue's disgust and kissing Adeline had driven the fear of messing with Rogue's fate from my mind. I felt as though everything was going to be alright, "We're gonna be fine, Adeline," I said, brushing a little hair from her face, "We'll stick together, and we'll stay with the rest of them for now."

Rogue (Robyn)

I laughed when he told me to grow up, I was one of the most muture people here.

'Yeah I'll grow up, if you ever pry yourself away.' I laughed the message into Chase's mind.

He pulled away from Adelines mouth and glared at me.

"I give you six months, three if we all seperate." I said and then walked towards the burning sight.

Flip-

Everyone was being so idiotic. Here we are in a burning camp and everyone is acting like nothing is happening. I tried to talk to Dent but he just ignored me. Then I saw Rogue walking out of the camp. At least she wasn't an idiot.

I ran to catch up with her, then asked, "What are we going to do?"

Rogue (Robyn)

"What are we going to do?" Flip asked walking up to me.

"Oh honey I wish I knew." I said. "We just lost everything." I said looking around at all the things that were burned.

"Oh really?" He said saracsticly, "I hadn't noticed."

"Don't get smart with me." I glared and pouted at the same time, blood still dripping from my back.

Lark

I stood up and wiped the tears away from my face and turned to them like a leader, unlike how I felt. I cleared my throat.

"Okay, we need to leave, soon. Now. I'm sorry we couldn't save Jewel or Cowboy so they could go too, but if we sit here and dwell on all the sorrow we have, we'll all be arrested or burned to death. Getting up and running away is probably one of the last things I want to do right now but we've got to. So let's just hurry up and go," I told them.

Flip-

"At least I remembered to grab something useful," I said meekly, pulling out a first aid pouch.

Rogue (Robyn)

"My hero." I said with sarcasim dripping from my voice.

"I didn't see you get anything." He glared as if I took the spot light from him.

I glared and shot back. "I'm sorry I was busy at the moment getting whipped by Rusty and then left in a burning tent to die."

"Ouch that sounds painful." He winced.

"Oh yeah it is." I said, and then I sat down on the dry yellow grass. "He used the fire whip too."

"Oh ouch that's the worst one... What did it feel like?"

"Like hell was breaking out on my back." I said, scrunching up my face. He was quiet for a second and then sat down next to me, I turned really fast to look at him, "What are we gonna do?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" He asked squinting because the sun was in his eyes.

"You know what are we gonna do? Where are we going to stay? What are we going to eat? Are we going to all split up? What's going to happen to us?" I asked my bottom lip was split and bleeding.

Rogue (Robyn)

"You always were the smartest and the sweeted out of the bunch, Flip." I smiled.

He blushed and then laughed nervously.

"Where is everyone?" I asked.

He looked down, refusing to meet my eyes, even though he was like two feet taller than me.

"What? What is it?" I questioned. When he didn't answer me I grabbed his chin. "Flip... What's wrong?" I asked.

He looked at me with sorrow, regret, and pain in his hooded eyes, "It's Jewel... She's dead." He answered.

I blinked, Jewel, my sister, my right hand chick, my best friend. "No." I whispered shaking my head, I realesed his chin...

"Robyn-" He started to say.

"No!" I closed my eyes as tears flew from under my eyelids, my fists were clenched, my heart began to ache.

His eyes began to tear up, but he was strong and didn't let one tear fall from his eyes.

"Where is she?" I asked angry and sad at the same time, they'd never seen me like this.

"I don't think it would be a good idea-" Flip tried.

"Where is she Flip?" I said between clenched teeth.

He pointed to the tent, I began stalking towards it. He was hot on my heels. I pushed through the tent and Dent and Lark were in there. Dent looked at me like he hated me, and Lark looked surprised. I saw Jewel and at that moment, I didn't feel like myself, I ran up to Jewel's body and began pounding at her with my fists.

"HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME HERE!!! YOUR SO SELFISH!!! AHHHHH!!!!!" I cried, hot tears pouring out of my eyes, I started pounding on her with my clenched fists. Part of my anger was me yelling and some of it felt as if someone else had come into my soul.... like a demon. "YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME HERE!!!" ***pound*** "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME JEWEL??? YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!!!! I.... NEEEED YOU... PLEASE COME...... BACK!!!" I pounded on her body she would have been bloody if she were alive. Flip wrapped an arm around my waist, and tried to pull me back, I faught to stay with her, he picked me up and I gave up trying to fight him. He pulled me into chest and I was crying.

Dent sighed and climbed unsteadily to his feet, looking over at Rogue as she screamed at Jewel's body. He had never seen her so out of control before.....

They didn't have time for hysterics, though. They needed to get away and hidden before anyone came to investigate.

He mentally steadied himself and walked over to where Flip was holding her. "We need to go," he said quietly. "Anyone who comes will find her body and give her a proper burial--the police aren't that merciless--but they can't find us."

Rogue (Robyn)

"She said..... She said...." I kept gasping. "She said........ She knew..... Oh God, she knew..... Who was going to...... Kill her...... And we.... Didn't.... We didn't believe her....." I screamed and cried at the same time. "Dent..... We... Can't just.... Just leave her." I cried.

Dent closed his eyes and looked away, trying to hide tears. He called her hysterical and in shock....

He shook his head. "We can't bring her back to life, and we can't drag her around everywhere," he said. "There's no time for a proper burial, and seeing that Rusty would've told us to burn her, we're not going to do that. The police will give her a better burial than we could."

Rogue (Robyn)

"I can't leave her like that." I cried, in so much shock for I knew it was coming off of me in waves. "I can't go. I can't." I clung to her body, blood all over my hands from her stabbing wound.
