*lol*

Ian chuckled at her remark. It reminded him of another time...when he was in her shoes. When he was half dead just three nights ago... Damn. Only three nights?

"What?" she asked at the sound.

"Nothing. You just reminded me of something."

"What would that be?"

He paused. "When you took care of me. That shit hurt like hell. So think about it; I'm trying to be easy, like you undoubtly were, but to no avail. Pain is pain. Period."

She nodded stiffly as she gradually released her grip on the chair. He was finished with the ointment...for now, at least.

"Let me see your face. Please."

"Why are you - "

"Ari, please. I just..." he sighed. "I just want to take care of you. That's all."

Vanis

The dragon quirked a smile, Haunting them? What an interesting prospect. No doubt that will prevent Hanik from achieving some semblance of power for some time. Still, it restricts me. Maradomin might not be able to achieve the required level of magic for this ritual for now, but if he recuperates I am less certain. I’ll need some way around this to make sure he cannot threaten me. Perhaps these shadows will be able to answer, now that there is this link between us.

He looked back to Maradomin, “It seems I misread the extent of the power of these creatures. If you can command such as these, I am beginning to believe that our alliance will be profitable to us both, given the fact that you need me to augment your...pets.”

He directed a hand signal at a lieutenant, who barked a retreat order to Vanis' soldiers. Maradomin shot a look at him, "What are you doing?"

"We're pulling out anyway, sergeant. The Dark Knights won't go to sleep for some time yet, and so your curse won't have any effect on them in this fight. Moreover, your shadows can't help us now."

Dragons were already fast approaching the ruined palace, others still circling and fighting with the Al'aran.

Ari shifted in the chair and turned around, surprised to see Ian so close to her. What she saw in his eyes practically took her breathe away. She saw intensity, compassion, fear, love, and pure passion all at the same time. Ari felt a wierd tingling in her body as Ian reached for her face. He rose to his knees as he stroked her cheek with a callused hand.

Ari closed her eyes, placing her hand on his, kissing his palm. Ian pulled her closer to him until there was no more space between their bodies, placing his lips on the top of her head. Ari wrapped both arms around him, burying her face in his stomach, not worried about the nightown falling from its intended position. She tightened her hands in his damp shirt, gripping him tighter.

Her heart ached as she heard Ian murmur three little words that she had been longing to hear ever since he became a rogue...

When they had got out Maradomin had with Vanis's help killed a few Dark knight troops. He was now in a tent with the remaining officers of the saviour army, A Bald man called Korrick who was by rank a General, a captain named Tony, who was about the age of 30 and a Marshall named Jenna.

seeing to that all the others had ran away (except a few like Azrayel for example... and he was fighting the dark knights outside) the situation was quite good

Maradomin was in a tent with the officers, Vanis was there too. They had a table before them. On this table there were models of troops that could be mooved. The table represented the battlefield. A messenger ran into the tent.

"The enemy has us flanked on the west side of the deffences, but our offencive troops are pushing through their center. East side is quiet."

one of the officers, Tony, put the troops in correct order.

A messenger told.

Maradomin turned to the officers "So gentlemen how do we destroy this army?"

Vanis looked at the map "Remember mage. This fight is no longer nessesary, we have already given them a heavy impact."

Maradomin waved his hand ás if to push the remark away "We nee to destroy their forces."

Vanis didn't answer. Korrick spoke this time "We could try to flank them by sending out your tribe troops from here, Maradomin." He said.

Maradomin looked at him "My troops are fighting, the only tribe troops here are the troops from Velna's tribe. Their magic is good, but they will do no good in hand to hand combat."

"Never the less. Seeing to it that most of our elite has ran away we need tto do sacrifises."

"You have a point.... MEssenger! Tell Velna that she and her troops are to advance... Now!"

The messenger saluted and ran out of the tent.

Lord Anzius, you can't take control of the Saviour Army. That's Aris' job. And what other Generals? Your post is very confusing to me. Can you fix it, please?

Vanis cleared his throat, calling the messenger back for a moment, "Convey my orders to Lieutenant Olboas as well. His soldiers are to attach themselves to Velna's forces until the Dark Knights close, at which point they are to screen the tribe soldiers. Also, Lieutenant Tael's men are to move in response to the Dark Knights on the western flank."

The messenger nodded and made double time out of the tent, the extra messages he would have to deliver would have to be changed if he wasn't fast enough and the Dark Knights overwhelmed the western edge of the remaining Saviour forces.

The colonel turned to Maradomin, "Sergeant, I feel obliged to reiterate that this battle is pointless. As you say, it may well be possible to wipe out the Dark Knights now, but it is equally possible that they could defeat us."

He indicated the figurines on the map, "While our troops could be driving into the center of their army, they might have deliberately weakened the center in favour of pushing for the flanks, hoping to encircle us." He looked up at Korrick and Jenna, clearly playing rank, "I would advise, sirs, a fighting withdrawal. The Dark Knights cannot pursue too far, given the state they're in, but we can't maintain an attack on their capital with only about half the numbers we began with, and that's taking into account the reinforcements from myself and sergeant Maradomin. Your men's morale is probably low, especially considering that we've been pushed out of the city itself. Whatever Maradomin says about destroying the enemy, I myself am against such a plan. I don't think our forces can sustain such an attack. Mine are relatively few in number, and the tribes, as their commander himself just said, are not trained for hand to hand combat. If they continue to push us back any further, I will personally pull my men out. Otherwise all we will achieve is the mutual annihilation of ourselves and the Dark Knights, which, in my eyes, is not an acceptable outcome."

***Anzius, it is not Maradomin's place to give orders such as that, not without direct permission from an officer (the General, Lieutenant Colonel, or another member of that staff, specifically). Keep that in mind for future reference.***

"I love you," he murmured.

He didn't even know he had said it. It flowed so naturally from his lips, sounded so gentle and true. He wasn't aware of it at all.

He felt her trembling against him, clinging to him. He savored it, and held her just as close. And he was content with that. Just holding her.

***Unfortunately, no. I recieved permission from CJ to kill your character off the first time you went inactive. If you want to rejoin, come up with a new character.***

*Light_Devil: I had tried contacting you many times, all of which were not successful. I understand if you were busy, but you should have replied back as soon as you recieved those messages. I have to agree with Ayumi; if you want to rejoin, you need to come up with a new character and actually do your part in posting--otherwise, you cannot join at all.*

Ari never felt more comfortable than she did just then. Unfortunately, every special moment is made to be broken sooner or later.

Ari, you need to call your troops back. Break time is over. Otherwise, Maradomin will send them all to their deaths; he is planning on trying to defeat the Dark Knights while we have not recovered enough.

"Damn it all," she growled, reluctantly letting go of Ian. How did you find this out?

Vanis's dragon, Roslyn. She sent me a message from him, telling you that you need to go down there and order a retreat. If you don't, the outcome will not be a good one.

"Is everything okay, Ari?" Ian asked, concerned.

"No, everything is not okay," she snapped, getting up from her chair. "Maradomin is going to send my Dragon Riders to their deaths if I don't get back down towards the borderline. Vanis is trying to convince him not to send them, and I don't have any idea why Maradomin thinks he can order my troops around in the first place! You give him one moment of glory, and he thinks he has to run everything!" She walked towards her discarded clothes, and sharply turned back around to look at Ian. "Turn around!" she commanded harshly, anger blazing in her eyes.

Gautier, come to my window! We're leaving.

~~~~~~~ (Time Skip! ^^)
"Maradomin!" Ari roared as she flung open the flap to the tent. She walked right up to his shocked face, shoving her face so close to his they almost touched. "Why the hell do you think that if I leave for only two measly peaceful goddamn seconds that you can just take control over my army--MY ARMY?!" she roared. "MY army is not fit to fight right now, and you plan on sending them to their fucking deaths?! I don't think so, you bastard!"
Ian sat still as the healer finished binding his shoulder. Again. After Ari left, he had returned to the infirmary to recieve the long-awaited - and needed - attention he had stormed out on. He ended up sitting there for an hour as she cleaned the wound, applied medicine, and then rewrapped it.
He watched her, patient while she fixed a glass of water and retreived a pill from a cabinent. She finally came back to him and held the medicine out to him. "You still have traces and slight symptoms of blood poisoning, but it's not too severe. Just keep coming back, twice a day, and we'll get rid of it completely."
He nodded, taking the medicine. "Thank you."
After swallowing, he stood and got his shirt off the counter. He thought while he slid into the article, moving gingerly. He thought about Ari and their kiss, about his wounded father, about his own reaction to everything.
I was stupid.
He turned back to the nurse. "Ma'am, where's my father?"
She looked at him and obviously hesitated. "He's in the CCU section.?"
"Can I see him?"
She shook her head. "He's nonresponsive. We almost didn't save him; it was a fight to get him breathing again." She gasped; Ian kept his own terror to himself, struggling to keep control. She hesitantly continued. "The healers are trying their best, General, but...we may have to fly him to a neighboring country, where they have better resources and more time to take care of him... I'm sorry."
He nodded, voice frozen in his throat. He felt Shyen touching his mind, crooning worriedly. He thanked her with only a forced smile, and walked out.
Maradomin:
Ari roarred in the tent. Ari shouted at Maradomin, curses and swears.
After Ari was done Maradomin answered "You and your friends! You ran away, and as I see you had had a spendid time. When me, Vanis and Azrayel, were fighting Hanik within his palace."
Ari was about to shgout again but Maradomin cut Ari short "And for you to know, I and Vanis have now cursed Hanik and his so called Royal-guard."
Ari looked at Vanis "Vanis, what made you to join us?"
Vanis shurgged "We have similar goals."
Ari was silent for a second, regaining the calmness within. "We will retreat. Now!"
Maradomin looked like he was going to say something but then Vanis backed Ari up "I agree."
Maradomin fell silent, he was defeated. "So shall it be... Laviant!" Laviant ran into the tent "Get the tribes to retreat." Laviant ran to it "Vanis I presume you can retreat your troops your self, and so you as well General."
He walked out.
