This is kind of something that is branching off of my current novel.

You can either be a civilian, an elf, a dragon rider, or a dragon. Elves can also be dragon riders if you want. There can also be other mythical creatures, but they have to be run by me first, and I have to give the okay, which I most likely will. There are two sides: the Saviors (good Dragon Riders) and the Dark Knights (bad Dragon Riders). The dragons are only able to talk to Dragon Riders of their side and other dragons.

Here are the Ground Rules:

1) DON'T PLAY GOD!!

2) dragons can choose their riders, but not vice versa.

3) dragon riders can have one special power that they can control.

4)dragons don't get a special power. Their already cool enough as it is.

5) There are going to be ranks, and I will list them lowest to highest:

1)private 2)corpral 3)sergeant (Sgt.) 4)1st sergeant 5)command sergeant major 6)2nd lieutenant (2nd Lt.) 7)1st lieutenant 8)captain (Cpt.) 9)lieutenant colonel (Lt. Col.) 10)colonel 11)general (Gen.)

(It helps to be in JROTC, don't you think? In case anybody noticed, yes, I did skip some ranks, only to make it a bit easier on the people who don't get the system)

Captains have their own squads, and the Colonel is the Generals' right hand man, while the Lt. Colonel is his left hand man, so to speak. The highest you can be is a captain, but have some variety, and not everyone pick captain.

6)do not kill anyone off without my permission.

7) if you break any rules, I will personally kill you off, but you will be able to start over as a new character.

you can have up to at least two characters, if you can handle it. If you think you can handle more, just let me know and I'll seriously consider it.

9) It's a war! have some fight scenes! Just not too gory, that's all I'm asking.

10)there can also be some romance, just don't get too graphic, please.

11)Only I can promote and demote people.

The Saviors reside in the Kingdom of Damali, while the Dark Knights live in the Kingdom of Athanasia. They're a ways away from each other, with a desert in the middle of them. The Kings have no control over the Dragon Riders, but the Saviors are welcome in Damali. The General of the Dark Knights killed the King of Athanasia, and is now sitting on the throne, drunk with power, and wants to take over all of the Dragon Riders.

Then, the General killed the King of Athanasia and began trying to take over all of the Dragon Riders. Ian is now the new General, but he's not very pleased with the situation. He has not decided to rebel...yet.
Dragon: Named Shyen, is about thirty years old (considered an older teenager in Dragon terms) and is about forty feet long. She has a maroon base with brighter red on the underside and wings.

noticeable features- a pair of birthmarks shaped like the symbol of infinity, (sideways figure eight) on the backs of his hands Not to mention the tats on his forearms and chest (they're tribal markings).

power- He has the ability to bend people to his will. But the power is linked to his voice, he has to speak the command for it to take effect. But once given, only an extremely strong willed person can disobey.
side- neither yet, he can go either way.

background- Ray grew up as a nomad of the Desert Tribes. He was the only child of the Tribal Chief, and was expected to inherit the position. But Ray broke the rules of his tribe, and went to his peoples sacred ground. It was their he found a dragon egg. When he came back he was banished for his transgressions, Ray has since wandered the desert. As time passed he began to lose touch with his humanity and has lost faith in the races as a whole. Ray works as a bandit attacking caravans passing through the desert, he clings to what remnants of honour and goodness remain within him, and although he's a powerful warrior, he has yet to cross the line and slay a person. His dragon egg only recently hatched, containing twin boy dragons Taiou and Yoru.

other- up for love. His dragons Taiou and Yoru, take the form of wolves normally. It should be noted that while Ray's skills can be bought his loyalty cannot.

Name: Viedna “Harlequin”

Age: 31

Gender: Male

Any other noticable features: Has worn a felt mask over his face for years. It is rumoured that he suffered horrific burns to his face early in his career. At the same time he started wearing flowing robes made of strips of various colours, earning him his nickname. Coupled with his gloves, the only part of him that can be seen are his eyes, and his hair if he lowers his cowl (which he rarely does)

Power: Magic-dead. Magic will not work on him or his mount. (Am I allowed?)

Dragon: Black, named Roslyn

Side : Having fought the against the saviours for so long, and having turned his back on his brethren, Viedna is anathema to both sides for now

Background: Was the Dark Knight’s ambassador to the King Of Athanasia until the regicide. Sickened by what happened, and the new king’s goals, he turned away from his kin and fled. He now resides in a cave in the desert between the two lands, occasionally foraying out to steal supplies from Athanasian supply-trains.

Yes, Ray can have twin dragons. I think that's totally awesome. And if he just became a rider, then he would be considered Private. I like the background, but I just have one question:

If he hasn't chosen a side to be one yet, how can he be a Rider? the Dragon Riders are thouroughly trained people, taught in combat and flight and their powers.

The idea of dragons taking the form of wolves kind of puzzled me at first, but I think it's kind of cool. Yeah, that'll work.

Background: Was born to legendary Dark Knight Faruum Tial, but killed him at the age of twelve to join the Saviours. Has twin brother, Wen, who went missing shortly after he became a Dragon Rider. No mother known, but Bella looks awfully like the Queen of Damali.

Wait, I forgot to say that Bella has a bit of a temper, and tends to execute dark humour when irritated. However, she's typically easygoing and flexible. Her first dragon, Hiro (pronounced like Hero), was killed in battle by Ianeil, so Bella has a violent, uncontrollable thirst for vengeance. Wait, is she allowed to have a thirst for vengeance???????? Anyway, she got really lucky that Qiira chose her. (Psst--Bella likes Qiira better than Hiro. Shhh!!!!!!!!)

And also, we won't start until AyumiGosu17 comes back from boot camp *glares at name with envy*, so you guys won't have to check back in until Saturday. That gives me time to think about how to start the story off...if you guys have any suggestions, feel free to PM me!!

Side: Currently Dark Knights, but seriously reconsidering it since the coup in Athanasia

Background: Ciru was born into the Dark Knights, but as a child he often wished he could be something else. His dragon chose him because it saw the potential for good within him, although after an attack from a Saviour cost him his left eye and most of his face, that potential has been seriously challenged. Despite his hunger for vengeance, he is considering forsaking the Dark Knights like so many have already.

You can't have air, too. That's part of Bella's power.

Name: Riyn (Pronounced like Ryan)

Gender: Male

Creature: Human

Hair: Shaggy Brown

Eyes: Blue-Gray

Any Other Noticeable Features: A scar circling around his right eye with another going through the circle and across his eye, blinding him on one side. He also has a noticeable birthmark on his ankle that looks almost exactly a dragon claw.

Power: He has the ability to create illusions. He can create anything from a 'hologram', if you will, that has no solid form, to a solid object that feels like it's really there. The more solid the illusion (or the larger), the more energy it takes to create.

Dragon: A Silver Male named Kylthors. Riyn just calls him Kyl. He is blind in both eyes.

Side: Dark Knights

Background: Riyn remembers little from before he found the injured Kylthors and nursed him back to health when he was sixteen. He has spent his life since then dedicated to learning to become a better Dragon Rider.
