(I think I know what the reason is. No one other than Kai has had any real action for a while now. If you guys can help me keep the story moving we can get to the part where the fighting starts, but I need everyone to keep posting. Besides, I'm sure Stella would like to find out her character's powers before this storybook dies.)
Chicken <-- Egg <-- Rocket Powered Fist Take that, science!
Sorry I've been away -anybody in Britain or Eire will know how absolutely mad the snow has been on the East Coast this week, haven't really been able to get out of school. It's been like the The Day After Tomorrow set.
Anyway, look, I do like the storybook, it's just that it is getting very "let's all go along with Kai and we love him!" Storybooks are about improving your writing skills, as you said at the beginning Dynamo, and part of that is helping your characters to interact with each other in interesting ways and being able to come up with solutions for the difficulties they find themselves in. They're about thinking on your feet and inventing plot twists and details. That's how it was at the start, but now it's become very one-sided. Sort of like, you post a big long spiel, then Ayumi, Heather and I say "Uh... yeah, that's what we were thinking too" and then there's another spiel.
I think it's the fact that you've chosen an already structured storyline, it doesn't give the other writers a chance to broaden things, any room to stretch out. Part of the thing I love about storybooks is that you know that whatever you write can be completely changed by the person who posts next, and you have to find another way around whatever problem you're having. Of course it's good to have a certain plot for your storybook, but when the plot comes down to nitty-gritty details and Japanese names, well, it's taking away part of the fun element.
I do like the players here, it's just that I wish I had more room to breathe, and to do what I like with the storybook, rather than shove in a paragraph here and there saying "Oh look, what's that" or "I followed the rest of them." I'm here so seldom anyway -and I apologise for that fact-that I'd like to make what I post count for something, you know? That's my main problem. You're carrying the whole story, and we're jogging along behind like the dopey sidekicks.
