Army Wives

Okay, so if anyone has ever seen the show “ArmyWives” then you know the basis of this storybook. But, this is NOT based off the characters in the show. These are individual characters, and characters from the show need not be claimed.

This is set on an Army base in Texas. You do not have to be a woman, that’s just the title. Basically it’s the interaction between the spouses of the army personnel or the army personnel themselves. You also don’t have to be married!

Currently, the troops stationed here are deployed. If your character is the one that is in the army, then you may have them on injury leave or personal leave or something of the sort so you are involved in the happenings around the base. Also, on Army bases all housing is set in the same general area. Families will have houses, unmarried will have apartments or townhouses, and married couples can choose either.

Rules and Guidelines:

-All characters must be between the ages of 23 and 40. No exceptions.

-Characters that wish to be Generals need to be at least 33 years of age. Rank does not have to do with age, but it has to do with service and it is unlikely that enough service can be obtained to fulfill a general’s position any younger than 33 years of age.

-All characters must have some connection to the base. If you are not married you must be in the Army in order to live on the base. Fiancés and girlfriends/boyfriends are not permitted to live on base.

-Children of army personnel are permitted and you may play one as long as at least one of your parents is also being played and it has been cleared by them. However, use common sense. If the parent is 25 years old then the child is not going to be 16 years old. We aren’t having people having babies younger than 16, just pay attention to age difference. Any age child is accepted (as long as other explained guidelines are followed).

-Spouses may be played by someone different than you, just make sure it’s cleared by both people.

-Posts need to be decent. No one line posts. They need to be probably about 2 paragraphs minimum. We are all decent writers, this should be a breeze. And if it’s not, then think of it as a challenge that you must win!

-No God-modding, obviously.

-No killing off other people. I will randomly make announcements from the base about deployments, returns, and activities in the countries where the personnel are stationed. If I consider someone to kill off, I will speak to the person playing them first to clear it and set up a plan.

-This is NOT a fantasy, sci-fi, or anime storybook. Normal, real world people only. That means no special powers or silver hair or purple eyes. Just reality, please.

Never heard of the show, but it sounds fun and I think I get the jest of it.

Personality: She is protective of what she has. But she is really nice. She is tough and if need ever arouse she would go after her husband no matter where he was to make sure he was ok. (Like if he went missing)

Background: Her dad was in the army, and she was going to go but she couldn't because she used to have a history of migraines and even though they went away she still couldn't.

Appearance: Adrienne has long, dark brown hair with large natural curls in the bottom section, she has blue eyes and is about 5'5", slender. Can always be found in a pair of jeans or long shorts--only dresses up for formal events on base.
Personality: Adrienne is very accepting and very young still. She cares for her daughter and her home well but loves to joke around. She will speak her mind about pretty much anything unless it is unappropriate at the time (i.e. formal dinner).
Background: Adrienne's father died when she was just a little girl in a car accident, and she is the baby of her family. She spent most of her life in Tennessee, and all of her family is still there. She met Jack her freshman year of college at UT and they were married three years later. They have been on this base now for about 4 years, but were stationed in Alabama for 2 years before. She and Jack have a daughter, Emma, who is 14 months old.

Deployed: Currently recovering from a high fever, Robert is at the base but very eager to be deployed again soon.
Service: 9 almost ten.

Family: She has a son, Alex, who is four and a half and a daughter, Jayne, who is almost two.
Appearance and Personality: Nicki is a slightly plump, adventurous young woman. She has vibrant red hair, dark green eyes and mildly tanned skin. She's quick to laugh and smile and is always full of energy, bustling about the house looking after her children and sometimes other army wives' children or next door with her best friend Adrienne. Nicki is at best a moderate cook but has fun experimenting with exotic recipes and laughing over the failed meal.
Background: Nicki gave up her ambitions to become a film director when she met Robert at eighteen while working part time in a cafe. Robert was already intent on joining the army and when he decided to sign up a year and a half later, Nicki realised that she wanted to be with him more than she wanted a career. They got married when she was twenty-three and they've been at the current base for just under five years.

TN -- you may want to just fill that out and change it if someone wants to play!

One thing, I dont' think people will join as the husbands unless they stay on base because then it will be hard to stay in the story.

Sorry if this is too different but I felt like it would be a fun character to write.

Personality- open minded, shy, secretive, trustworthy, artistic, quiet
History- all of the men in his family before him were in the army-including his brother and even his mother was a war nurse. His family is very traditional and keep pushing him to enlist in the army and get married and produce offspring for his mother to torture with cheek pinching and pet names. But unfortunatly he will not be joining the army for multiple reason (none of which any one knows), he has already been applying to an art schools to get his degree in photography. Also his ...personal preferences..do not involve girls. But it would be hard for anyone to tell because he goes on dates with girls and plays football and basketball with the guys and has been to summer bootcamps every year since he was twelve, yeah he has set up a real nice pretend life for himself. But he can't keep lieing, he has to tell them all-he just has to figure out how. Maybe at his brother's farewell party when he gets better and is deployed again? No that wouldn't work.

Rory, the rules state that 23 is the minimum age...

I'm not sure. I think Via might be waiting for one or two others but it should be pretty soon. And I love your character's sexual orientation. Should prove to be interesting =)

TN>> that's the idea! If someone is playing an army personnel they are on base currently on some kind of leave. It's only the un-played army personnel that is deployed.

The day was brilliant, the sun high in the sky and shining hot rays upon all it's innocent gravity-bound victims. But, the breeze was strong and it had turned out to by a completely perfect day.

Adrienne stood in the backyard as the clock chimed 2. A line hung across a portion of the yard, clothes pins hanging low and being connected with some of the families laundry. Of course, they had a dryer but Adrienne just enjoyed the fresh scent of air dried clothes when possible and time allowing.

She smiled as she glanced at Emma pushing her sit and stroll toy around on the patio. At only 14 months old Emma reflected her father so much with her blonde hair. No one on Adrienne's side of the family had blonde hair, all dark. Emma's curls flew wildly in the wind, bouncing all over the place. She giggled, the pacifier hanging from her shirt knocking against the toy she walked with.

A plane flew overheard and Emma glanced up pointing. It was too loud to hear, but Adrienne was certain Emma was calling "Brr! Brr!" thinking the plane was a crow or some other awkwardly loud bird. But, as it passed Emma turned her focus back to her toy.

Adrienne smiled and went back to her laundry, listening to the sounds of the children in the neighborhood playing freely.

Nichola

Dirty plates and cutlery littered the table as Nichola bustled about the room, carrying clean plates back and forth between the dish-washer and the cupboard. The sound of giggling and gurgling rang from the adjacent room and Nichola paused to listen, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. She moved quicker, tidying away the aftermath of dinner for four and then entered the living room, descending on Robert with a spray of kisses.

He returned the affection, propped up in the easy-chair as he was with little Jayne on his lap and Alex playing with bricks nearby.

"You feeling better, honey?" Nichola asked, perching on the arm rest of the chair and pressing a hand to his forehead.

"Much," Robert declared, taking hold of her hand and bringing it to his lips gently. "Wont be long now..."

"You stay and rest as long as you need," Nichola objected, cuddling up to him until the phone began to ring. Alex looked up and wandered towards the phone, thumb in mouth but the ever- energetic Nichola got there first.

"Let Mummy answer the phone, darling."
