For those who knew and cared for TYWC's Senor_saurkraut, aka Robby Sowell, he passed away in January 2009 at the age of twenty one.

Caldwell County's News-Topic newspaper [link] reports only the following:

Mr. Robby Sowell, 21, of Hickory died unexpectedly Friday, January 23, 2009.
He was born Nov. 15, 1987 in New Hanover County, North Carolina to Jerry Sowell of Hickory and the late Kimberly Hall Sowell.
A memorial service will follow at a later date.
Memorials may be made to PETA 501 Front St. Norfolk, Va. 23501
Mackie-High Funeral Home is serving the Sowell family.

Hickory - Mr. Robby Sowell, 21, of Hickory, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 23, 2009. He was born Nov. 15, 1987, in New Hanover County to Jerry Sowell of Hickory and the late Kimberly Hall Sowell. Robby was a member of a punk rock band. He had a gift for music, and he loved to play and write his own songs. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Hall and Paul and Louise Sowell; his great-grandparents, Henry and Nellie Hall; and his cousin, Emily Hayes. In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister, Janis Hardin and husband, Allen, of Newton; his grandmother, Karen Hall of Wilmington; his great-grandmother, Ophelia Peterson of Wilmington; his two aunts, Susan Crawford of Wilmington and Joan Hart of Hickory; his aunt and uncle, Bill and Debbie McCall of Gastonia; and his niece and nephew, Bailey and Ryan Hardin of Newton. Robert is also survived by his close circle of friends, Luke, Sam, John, Ashton, Sabrien and many others. These close friends were like family to him. Robby loved his two cats, Oden and Malichi, and his dog, Henry. A Memorial Service will follow at a later date. Oh, god, I remember his screenname. (How could you forget?) His stuff was a bit odd, if I remember correctly, but he was actually a really good writer.

Yeah... looking back, his stuff was pretty damn good. (The serious stuff, at least...) This is a real pity.

This is putting things in a strange perspective for me...TYWC was a big part of my life as a preteen. To see familiar names again, and worse, to learn that they've died, makes it really seem like we've grown up.

As I wrote in my post in intros, I wrote as hayleyke there..I was 10-13 i believe, ages ago, mad, at universty now and going through this topic made me sooo unbelievably nostalgic! Good to see so many familiar names but

wow...that is all levels of sad I can't even describe, and so surreal to think about it. I recognise his screename/remember talking to him on messenger and reading his works, he wasn't one you'd forget.

tywc was amazing. i did a search for it randomly out of nostalgia and this forum thread was the first to come up. i think for me it was the first real sort of writing community i'd ever had, and a kind of community i've been trying to find again ever since. i joined as a 12 year old back in the day as "cool feet" -- i'm 23 now.
well RIP tywc, but i'm sort of heartened to know that this site looks to be pretty thriving...

Now I'm sad. TYWC was the first writing website I ever went to..I don't even remember how old I was. Eight, maybe. I was Sabrina1234/The Red Kitten. And now it's dead. Gosh.

I was around from around 2002 I think, seems to be my last posts are from 2004 so I would have been around 11 to 13 when i was on there !! (18 and at college now!) Loved it but my stuff was a bit rubbish and towards the end I just used to spam up the activities with a certain "Vampirish" and "Warthog in a King Prawn Suit" .........???!!

Robby, you were a crazy kid and worth every minute I chatted or argued with you (and then some).

I don't know what brought me here in the middle of my work day, but it's good to see a lot of familiar names with whom I grew up and a lot of new ones who claim the same. It's fun and funny to see all these memories and well-wishes posted so many months apart at a time.

Thanks fellas, you were my formative years!

Anyway, it's about time I get back to business.
