Liz scanned the note. I'll explain lat...she scratched it out. If you go to Ryan's house I'll explain around five. I've got to go somewhere after school. I promise I'll tell you why, just not here.
I don't think I'll be able to go to his house. My brother is ready to have both of our heads. She slipped the note back and jotted down some notes from the teacher. She looked at Ryan, he was writing down notes too. He looked preaccupied though.
Liz grabbed the note and read it, writing down something else. Tell him you're going home with a friend. That's wat I'd do. Just wait at his house, I'll tell you, then I'll drive you home so you're bro will believe you. She slid it back.
I knew what had happened to Liz. I sighed. I hated Tin with my whole gut. I clenched my fists and made myself relax. it would not do to explode in class. I needed a distraction. I saw Carolina passing a not to Liz.
I decided to write one of my own.
"Making friends? Is your brother upset with me?" I sighed and passed it to her.
I guess, and yes. He's hard headed. He's really really mad at me, too. Probably more so then you. Don't worry about it. She said passing it back to him.
I frowned as I saw Liz's reply to Carolina. I glared at her. Why did she lie like that?! It didn't make sense to me. I sighed. I decided to ignor Liz for now. I'd talk to her later.
I wrote back to Carolina: "So...does this mean I need to stay away from me? Or am I still allowed to see you? I suppose no more study sessions, huh?"
Caralina read Liz's note she frowned. Your lip doesn't get busted like that from stairs, and your eye wouldn't look like that either. Trust me I know. Caralina slipped it back to her. She wished she hadn't. Liz woudl take it she fell down some stairs, hopefully. Not that her dad was a drunk. She never got the brunt of it unless Brandon wasn't there. But still.
I think hanging out wiht you and all will be fine. My brother won't mind, I just need to talk to him. . She slipped it back, huge lie, but which would her brother want, home with her dad, or with a guy she trusted.
***Thought I would give someone Liz could talk to that knew what she was going through. ***
I smiled at the note. "Does this mean you get to spend the night again? " I knew she probably wouldn't, but I had to ask. I couldn't live without her, but Iw as really concerned about Liz. "What's Liz doing after school?" I asked Carolina, slipping the note back to her.
Best not. He'll kill me for that. I don't know. I'm supposed to met her at five, but she said she had something to do between end of school and hten. I don't know what. She slipped it back and waited.
The bell rang and Liz stood up quickly, walking out of the classroom and into the bathroom. She quickly called Grace who was in there within seconds. Liz begged her to cover the bruise up and she agreed, patting foundation and all kinds of her make-up in the bruised areas. "Thanks," she hugged Grace's neck and scurried out of the bathroom, keeping her head low so nobody would notice her.
