Ever Wonder

Casius-

As I turned to look over at Naomi I heard an 'oof' as I ran into someone. Stumbling backwards slightly I reached out to grab the person's arm, jerking them towards me roughly I drew my dagger and held it to their neck.

"Who are you?" I growled. "Speak quickly, I haven't got all day."

"Kikin!" the person - girl - gasped out.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was, uh, just walking. Really!"

I spun her around to face me, looking her in the eye to show that I meant what I said. "You do realize that if you're lying, and I catch you here for a different purpose, I could easily kill you."


Raxven-

I laughed. "Hardly. Almost anyone would've done the same in my place. It was the simple matter of who got there first."

"But nothing ever happens for a reason," Blair stated calmly, watching me. "Perhaps you got there first for a reason."

I shrugged. "So what if I did? Does that mean I have to keep him with me?"

It was her turn to laugh. "By the looks of it, you won't have to try."

"True enough."

"I guess..."kikin said looking about as though she might know. He relesed her a bit and she took her chance..She got out a dagger herself and it flew to meat his neck as well...

Casius-

My reaction time never was anything to brag about.

In the blink of an eye, the girl had whipped around and drew a dagger, sending it straight for my neck. They say that time seems to slow down as you watch your own death. They say that you're able to watch your life play back over before your very eyes, faster than a bolt of lightning from the heavens, in your last moments.

To hell with all that.

All I saw was a flash of silver before my world melted to pain. I felt the dagger deal a glancing blow, not bad enough to kill directly but enough to where bleeding to death was a real possibility. I sank to the ground and heard a piercing scream that, moments later, I realized was mine.

Dimly, I saw Naomi pick up the dagger and hold it threateningly in front of her, always pointing at the girl. The tiger at her side growled menacingly. Naomi started talking to the girl but the words were lost to me as my eyes began to close.

Rax... I managed weakly, calling out mentally to my master.

Casius? Where are you? What happened? Are you alright? he asked, his questions coming in a rush.

Help...

Then darkness fell upon me, instant and relieving.


Raxven-

Help... Casius's weak, strained voice drifted through my head.

"What's wrong?" Blair asked. My emotions were probably plainly written on my face.

"It's Casius. I think he ran into some trouble...he sounded pretty bad. I'm going out to look for him. Stay here."

I lifted my palm and spoke a word. A small stone materialized in my hand. I handed it to Blair.

"If anything goes wrong, throw this in the fire or drop it in a glass of water. I'll be back as soon as I can, but stay here and be careful! Please!"

She nodded slowly, obviously reluctant to have me go and not be able to come. "Alright. I'll go keep Fye company then, I suppose."

I kissed her forehead lightly. "Thank you. I'll be back soon, promise."

I spun and opened the door, running out into the night in the direction Casius's faint call had come from.

"UH....."ahe said as two people came to protect the guy....She hadent ment to hit him but her tracker instincs were to strong this time.....She turned jumping into a tree....She she turned around some one was in her face........She was nocked down into the grass below and her small freind was there hovering over her as she left councious ness.....

Naomi~

Naomi watched the girl fall backwards off the branch, not making an attempt to help as she hit the ground and lost consiousness. She jumped back out of the tree and walked to Casius' side. She sat on the wet ground next to him and ripped a peice of her shirt, dabbing it at his neck wound. She couldn't do much...if she tied around his neck it'd choke him. She sighed and picked him up, throwing him over Keira's back. "Snif out this house he was talking about," she commanded.

'Will do,' he replied, sticking his nose the the ground and instantly walking forward.

Raxven-

The trees shook with the passing of the winds. I dared not create light in case what had managed to hurt Casius was still out there. I evaded tree roots and fallen branches as quietly as I could, running lightly towards where I hoped Casius would be.

Turned out I didn't have to go as far as I thought. After a few minutes of searching, a rustling of bushes to the left made me stop and turn. A girl and a tiger walked out before catching sight of me.

"Who are you?" I demanded quickly, looking at each in turn. The tiger had...something...on its back.

"My name is Naomi," she said, preparing to side-step me. "Excuse me, I'm in a hurry."

The tiger padded past me and the smell of burning embers drifted past my nose. I turned.

"Wait! Where are you going?"

She gestured to the black shape on the tiger, still walking. "We need to find his master."

I stepped forward. "Casius?"

The girl spun around. "Who are you?"

I smiled grimly. "I'm his master, Raxven. You'd best follow me, and quickly."

*Ow!!!*

Hazil awoke a few min later having gotten used to this...She ran to the guys sent...
"Im sorry!"she cryed as she busted through to the small amount of people....she looked at causies...
"He...I didnt know what elso to do but protect myself..."she stamered out and trailed off...

Raxven-

I frowned, looking from one to the other. Then I shook my head and frowned and harder.

"Both of you - and the tiger - need to follow me. I don't have time for questioning right now."

I took Casius from the back of the tiger and turned starting back through the trees, beckoning for them to follow. "Don't worry, I promise I won't hurt you. You will be safe at my home."

I took off at a run, listening for the others to follow. Soft footfalls behind me told they were. Thankfully, Casius was much lighter in weight than a normal human and easy to carry. We arrived back at my house in only a few minutes.

"Wait here," I told them, taking Casius into the other bedroom. Blair must have heard me, because she came in moments later.

"What happened?" she asked, standing behind me. Casius shivered violently. Not a good sign for a fire-demon.

"I'm not sure," I said, examining the wound on his neck. It wasn't too deep, but it stretched from under his chin to his collarbone. He had lost a lot of blood. I was reminded of how similar demons and humans really were.

I laid my hand on his chest, murmuring soft words. After a few minutes, the wound began to heal. I sighed.

"He'll recover," I said wearily.

Hazil stood there watching as she witnessed a high class hal for the first time.She looked at causeus as she stoped shivering....

She went and sat down at the corner of the room and looked down as her fuzzy friend tryed to cheer her up...

Blair-

One of the girls sat down at the other end of the room after Raxven healed Casius. Blair was relieved he was okay, the annoying little sod was starting to grow on her. The other girl, who was patting a tiget on the head looked through narrowed eyes at Blair.
"Are you..?" she trailed off, and Blair realized. This girl must know who she is.
"Who?" she tried to brush the question off but her voice failed her. Raxven caught on too and suddenly stepped in.
"This is my wife.."
"Elizabeth." She said sticking her hand out. The girl shook it.
"Sorry, it's just, you look an aweful lot like...someone else." Blair shook her head and stood over Casius stroking his hair, willing him to wake up. She felt Raxven's hand on her shoulder and turned to throw him a that-was-a-close-one look.

Naomi~

"Um...I-I'm going to leave...if you don't mind. Tell Casius I wish him good healing." Nobody took notice as the cat demon slipped quietly away, Keira following close behind. "That looks like Leo's fiancee." She said once they were back in the forest.

"I was you dunce," he growled in reply. Naomi sighed and sat down, leaning against a tree. "What are you doing?"

"I'm tired and the walk back is tiring for the both of us," she hissed. Keira growled and shrank to a dog size, wrapping himself around Naomi to keep her warm.

Raxven-

I sighed, wrapping one arm around Blair's shoulder.

"I think she knew who you were. This isn't good."

"I doubt she'd turn me in. She'd risk getting in trouble herself."

I shrugged and turned to the other girl. "So would you mind telling me what happened to my friend?" I asked, gesturing to Casius.

She told me her version of the story in a rushed voice. More than once I made her go back and repeat herself. Finally she finished and stared up at me fearfully.

"I'm really sorry. It was self-defense," she said for the tenth time.

I held up my hand. "I forgive you. Casius can be rough sometimes, but you're going to tell him you're sorry."

She nodded. "Alright."

"You're welcome to stay here tonight, so long as you don't try any more of your 'self-defense' stunts on any of us."

She smiled slightly. "Thanks."

Naomi~

Naomi transformed into a dog-sized white tiger to keep warm. She still shivered but pushed the coldness away...or at least tried to. 'We should get back home,' Keira growled.

"No, I want to see how Casius is in the morning," she hissed.

'You can. We'll walk back over.'

"Nada, I won't and morning is approaching quickly,"

"Um...I'm gona go out side.....tryying not to bother you...."she said getting up and heading for the door...

Blair-

The two girls and the tiger slipped away outside leaving Blair and Raxven alone. She let out a deep sigh and then fell onto the couch. She was even more worried now. Raxven sat at the other end of the couch and she laid her head down in his lap. He stroked her hair.
