Drake

I sighed. Discussing my transformation hadn't been a wonderful ordeal, but, then again, who's was?

And yet...

"It was painful," I admitted softly. "All I remember feeling was this horrible searing in my neck, and it coursed through me. My blood went hot, and...my body ached. I never thought it was going to end..."

Alana didn't look pleased by that. I shrugged.

"But not all transformations are like so. There are a few rare occassions in which the transformation is very...hmm...peaceful and painless. It's like a dream, sometimes, and you wake up as a vampire."

Theo burst through the door then. I turned and felt my blood freeze.

Terror.

Something was wrong.

(Back in black. =P)

Walter lit a cigarette and sucked on it. He watched the smoke rise and dissipate, took another puff, then licked his lips. He might have felt annoyed that his orders had simply matched what he had planned to do originally, but it didn't matter. Orders were orders, and he followed them. He got his chance, delayed though it was.

Because here was the Breed base.

Funny how in all the chaos they did little to conceal their hideout. Walter reasoned that it couldn't be helped; by the looks of it, there were too many puny little girls running around, the Warriors had to continue wasting their time rescuing them over and over. They never did learn. Pitiable, perhaps, but Walter did not know the word.

He cast his cigarette aside and once more drew his pistol. His scent was masked again, so they wouldn't have detected him; even so, there were so many scents flying around with all the blood that it mattered little.

He had been sent to kill the Breed Warrior known as Drake--he'd been on a run lately, and the higher ups wanted him dead. Enter Walter. Drake was so gung-ho that all he needed to do was fire and shot in the air and wait for him to come; he would beat all the other vamps outside. Then Walter would draw him away from the base and kill him.

Walter aimed and fired a random shot toward the base, in the vague direction of a window. Then he waited.
"Buy, buy, buy, buy; sell, sell, sell
How well you've learned to not discern;
Who's foe and who is friend,
We'll own them all in the end."

Alana-

Alana heard the fire, Drake took off towards the door and she followed grabbing a knife. She kept up with him even though her head spun. They made it out the door. She wasn't going to leave his side, she would find the others cause the shot had to be around them. She would help, she wasn't about to let anythign stop her.

Your being stupid. A voice hissed in her ear.

(Welcome back!)

Drake

The glass shattered.

We all yelped aloud as the shards rained down on us. A bullet ricocheted off the brick walls, grazing me more than once. The adrenaline that roared to life was almost too much to bear.

"What the hell - " Theo shouted, getting back on his feet as Alana bolted for the door.

I was already at the window. Damn! It was Walter!

And that smile he tossed at me...He was challenging me.

"Get Alana out of here," I commanded Theo. "Find someplace safe; I'll track you down later."

"But Drake - Monanoke's been bitten! She's transforming!"

I froze.

And I thought this night couldn't get worse.

Alana-

"I'm not going anywhere." Alana hissed, she spun the knife in her hand skillfully, but hoped no one had seen it. She had done it from habit. "You can't take someone with a gun by yourself."

Theo grabbed her by the arm and she yanked free glaring at him.

Naomi~

'Shit! Shit! Shit! More rogues!' Naomi picked the still screaming Monanoke up and ran into the room that held Alex and Jenna.

"What's going on?" Alex and Jenna shouted, now fully awake.

"I don't know. Monanoke was bitten by...by Innocence and is in the process of transforming. You two get down. Don't touch Monanoke no matter what." Naomi layed Monanoke down and ran out the door towards Theo, Drake, and Alana.

I looked at her.

Was she actually worried about me?

"I'm tougher than I look," I smirked. "It'll take more than a few bullets to bring me down."

I stepped out of view and stroked her cheek. "Besides...concern for you will keep me safe."

I could hear the other Warriors springing into action. Any minute, and they'd be spilling out to defend our not-so-secret-anymore base.

*Okay, I'm gonna make another character, since we need more Warriors.*

***She isn't giving up that easy :P ***

Alana-

Alana's cheek tingled from his touch, she shook her head though.

"You can't go by yourself. A gun can kill anyone, even a vampire if done correctly." She replied, her brother had been killed by one. "You need someone to help you." She looked straight at his eyes sternly.

Drake

I sighed. Damn. Why did she have to be so stubborn?

"Fine, but don't leave my sight."

Even as I said it, Tegan passed by the door, on his way towards the exit.

"Tegan!"

Tegan

I stopped at Drake's voice, but I didn't turn around. I never turned around.

"Go with Theo. There's a girl, Monanoke. She's been bitten."

Of course. A rescue mission. How thrilling...

"Fine. Whatever."

I stood by to let Drake and a Breedmate past, then waited for Theo to find the will to move. I'd always had that affect. While Drake was our leader, I was the most dangerous. You could call me cold, for lack of anything better.

Alana-

"Do you think I would be coming if I was going to ditch you?" She demanded as they moved swiftly. She hadn't dared look at the vampire that he had been talking to. She had seen his build from the side and he had frightened her. She had heard about him from her brother a few times. She hadn't heard as much about Drake as she had Tegan. Her brother had known him well. But he said he would never let her meet him, ever, in fact her brother kept her a secret from everyone he k new that was a vampire. "You knew the rouge, who was he?" She asked as they moved.

"Walter," I nodded as we reached the entrance. "He's a minion that's been targeting me for a while."

I stood just behind the door and listened closely. Once again, his scent was masked. But he was still there.

"There's no telling what he'll do when we hit the pavement, so watch yourself."

Monanoke-

The girl had been placed on a bed by Naomi. Alex and Jenna stared at her. A transformation. Much could happen. Monanoke could freak out and kill or even die.
Naomi locked the doors and prepared for a fight.

Monanoke faced towards them.'" Wwwwaattter...." She begged.

Her heavy breathing showed that she could cave in at any moment.

Walter flashed his teeth with a feral grin. He had ducked into an alley, and he softly stroked one its walls with his free hand. It twitched toward a cigarette but he bit back the urge and peeked out of the alley. After a moment, he spat at the ground and ran a hand through his hair.

Then he stepped into the open and fired a quick round of shots, sweeping the lower level.

"Haven't we grown bored of hiding?" Walter shouted, popping out his empty clip and loadinga new one. "Drakey, I know you're there… maybe you, too, Tegan, you bad boy?" He spun the pistol in his hand. "C'mon, c'mon, let's spill some blood. You know you love it. I hunger."

Walter hadn't approved, but he did not come alone--waiting in shadows were close to a dozen Rogues waiting in ambush. Naturally their scents were masked, and although Walter thought he could take them all, his bosses had not agreed. So there they were.
