Dali:

I was hurt. "Alex, please listen to me! It wasn't like that! I...I...told him."

"You what?!" He spun on me. I sighed.

"Look I'm tired. Can we settle this in the morning?"

He nodded curtly. I disappeared upstairs. Carefully, I climbed out the window and made my way to Ryder's house. I knocked on the door. "Please open up, it's me." I begged.

The door flew open. Ryder stood there amazed. "You...but..."

I smiled. "I don't do so well with following orders." I streached up and kissed him passionately. His arms tightened around me, bringing me closer. "I probably don't have long..." I bit my lip. I wanted to stay. I didn't want to go back.

Alex:

He was furious. How dare he hurt Dali! How dare she tell him! He was probably taking advantage of her! He didn't care about Dali! He just wanted her! Like so many other people. He continued fuming. He wasn't going to let some slime bag hurt his "sister". Then came a knock on the door.

"Come in." He answered gruffly. If it was that stupid master, he was going to kill him.

"Alex." came the soft reply.

He froze. It was Velna. How was she going to react now?

"Come in." He repeated. She walked through the door...she was truly beautiful. He pulled her into his arms and held her there. He needed some reasurance. SOmething that was wonderful and good in his life. "I love you." he whispered into her ear.

**Wow, great minds think alike, that's what I was hoping he would do. :P, Now your gonna hate me :D **

Velna-

Velna pushed out of his grasp and looked him in the eye, she quickly looked awayw she couldn't look in his eyes, she got lost in them. Her heart was racing from his admission and no matter how terribly bad she wanted to stay in his arms she couldn't.

"I love you too, but why wont you let Dali and Ryder around each other, you know that they have to go on the same mission, just as all of us do." She said looking at him again. She crossed her arms trying to keep from running back to his arms. His face showed anger again. "They love each other, Alex, it isn't fair to keep them apart. If you think Ryder doesn't truely love her your insane. No one knows him as well as I do, and he has NEVER fallen in love, swore he wouldn't, I knew it was a lie, but still, you can't keep love apart. It isn't fair."

Ryder-

Ryder turned her face up to his and he kissed her gently. "Alex is going to kill me." He smiled not wanting to let her go. He was happy as could be. "Did you run into Velna, I have a feeling she went to talk to you, or Alex?"

"I didn't see her." Dali replied looking up at him, he shrugged. She had such beautiful eyes, he never wanted to let her go.

"Great... Its so abveous that Alex and Velna, Ryder and Dali are in love." I moaned.

This mission is going to be more difficult than I had originaly hoped for. Why did I have to recamened all 4 of them? Oh well, there is nothing to gain from complaining. An assassin's job is to act and always suspect the worse; the wors that can happen is that they end up killing each other or our mission is a failure.
I guess it is my job to make them get along and hope for the best.

Alex:

"Ryder hurt her." He stated. He couldn't say anything else. He didn't know what else to say. Dali had been in pain, and Ryder had made it worse. For that reason alone, Dali shouldn't be allowed to be with him, much less be around him! He sighed. "I realize we're going on the same mission...but I figured that Dali wasn't going to get anywhere near Ryder...not as long as I was there...." He scowled. he really didn't like it. But what else could he do?

He sighed again. "Prove to me, My love," he smiled and swept a piece of her hair back behind her ear, "that he does care and didn't mean to hurt her, and I will consent, even if it pains me to do so."

"Promise?" she begged.

He smiled. "To you, I would promise almost anything. Do you know how hard it is to refuse you?!" He grinned and pulled her back into his arms, kissing her softly, passionately, loving the feel of her warm lips responding to his.

"I love you."

"I know." She smiled.

Dali:

It felt good, being in his arms. They were warm, protective. SOmething I had never known. "Do I have to leave?" I asked, practically begging him to let me stay.

He smiled, then frowned. "Won't...Alex" he spit out the name, "be upset?"

"Probably." I grinned. "But i don't really care what he thinks right now. Please let me stay!" I pleaded. "I'll do anything you ask! Just...please don't make me leave you!"I sounded desperate. I don't remember the last time I had begged someone to let me do anything, especially stay with them. I bit my lip, fighting back the tears...

Ryder-

Ryder pulled her into a hug. What was he supposed to say, 'no go back to Alex and listen to his wrath.' No way was he saying that.

"I can't send you away, but Dali, what is Alex going to do? he'll just hold this against me just as everything else. I don't know how to get into his thick skull that I'm not out to hurt you." HE sighed, "I would never hurt you, you do know that, right?"

Velna-

Velna could think of a way to prove to Alex. He would have to see it himself, without all the anger and bitterness that he seemed to have stored up when it came to Dali and protecting her.

"Alright, then you'll have to do somethign that might be really hard." She said looking up at him,

"What?" he asked looking down at her,

"You have to watch them, together, without being angery, or bitter. With an openmind." She replied, she bit her lip waiting to see what he would say. If he couldn't let her brother be happy how could she live with herself letting her brother watch her fall in love with the guy keeping him from his love. She hated the thought, but Ryder was her brother, nothing was about to change that.

Dali:

I sighed. "I'm not leaving unless you throw me out. Until you do that, you are stuck with me. And of course I know you would never hurt me! How could I even think otherwise?!" I clung closer to him. I was not leaving. Not unless he forced me to. "Please, may I stay?" I whispered against his chest, not daring to look up. "Unless...of course...you don't want me to..." I bit my lip, holding back the tears threatening to pour out. "Please?" I begged. Alex was going to kill me if I went back now. "Please!" my lip trembled, even if I didn't want it to! I was being so stupid! He was just another guy...what was the big deal.

Yeah right! my mind laughed at me. If he was, then I wouldn't be attached so much. I tried to keep from trembling as I burred myself into his arms, slightly shaking. "Please don't make me go back!"

Alex:

He frowned. "He doesn't care. He just enjoys hurting her."

He felt Velna stiffen in his arms. "He does love her!" she argued forcefully.

Alex sighed. "Alright...I'll try. But no promises. And if he does anything to her, I'm going to kick his butt!" He ran a hand through his hair. "Do you know why I protect Dali so much?" he asked softly.

She shook her head no.

He pulled her over to the couch and yanked her into his arms. "I...I'm going to tell you a story...one that is not mine...but I think it will help you understand my position..." he looked at her carefully waiting for a response.

She just looked at him.

"Dali used to be a prostitute. Not by choice, mind you! At the age of 12, she lost both of her parents in a harsh, evil world. Not knowing what to do, a man told her he could help her. He took her to an inn and stripped her, forcing Dali to participate. After he was done, he left her there. Three days later, he came back with another man, who also used her as he so pleased. Until the age of 15, Dali was forced to live this kind of life just to have food and a bed. When I found her, she was the lowest of the low. I hated to see her like that, so I dragged her back to the brotherhood, teaching her how to fight and defend herself. From that day forward, I have been careful with who I let get close to her. That day that she broke down, she was having memories of her previous life. I wasn't about to let...Ryder" he forced himself to say the name, "hurt her like everyone else. She's not a thing...she's a person. And the closet thing I have to family." he sighed. "I'm sorry for being so overprotective, but do I not have a right to?" he pleaded, begging Velna with his eyes to understand his possition.

Velna-

Velna frowned, "Ryder wouldn't ever take advantage of ANYONE in that way." She replied, "You should know that, he is a Master and for good reason. I hope you'll be able to see that. Ryder is a good person, just like you. He isn't out to hurt anyone that is in the brother hood and he never has." She said calmly.

**grr, All I have for her***

Ryder-

"I'm not gonna make you leave, Dali, you can stay here. But Alex is going to take this wrong and for the worst, I hope you understand that. Trust me, I've never felt like this before, but I don't want to have one waking moment without you, but I also want Alex to be able to trust me." He laughed softly. "I trust him with Velna even though he seems to hate me. I just want to shop him that he can trust me." He kissed the top of her head and sighed pulling her to the couch so they could sit down. He moved her face up to where he could see it. He wiped the tears off her face and smiled. "But I'd do anythign to be able to keep you close to me, and I mean anything."

Dali:

I smiled. "Thank you. I..." I bit my lip. I couldn't continue. Why did love have to be so complicated?!

"Am I allowed to sleep on the couch?" I teased, sitting on his lap as he led me to the couch. "Or do I have to sleep outside?" I grinned.

He chuckled, pulling me further into his arms.

"So...you've never felt like this before?" I asked slowly. "About anyone?"

He smiled softly. "Not a one."

I sighed. I was so happy. I loved being here. "Promise me something?"

"Of course!"

"You won't ever leave me?" I bit my lip. I knew it was an unfair promise, but everyone else that I had grown attached to in my life had left me...and I just wanted to know that he would be here...that he wasn't going anywhere...that he wouldn't find someone else...and I would become the slut again...I shudder. I couldn't handle that...not again.

Alex:

He sighed. "Okay. I trust you. Ryder can have Dali. I may not like it, but I'll allow it. But only for you. If he does hurt her, then he won't ever be allowed to be near her again!" he glowed, his eyes darts.

"Agreed."

He sighed again. "I suppose I should let you leave now..." he said hesitantly.

ALex didn't want her to leave, he wanted to hold her in his arms all night, feel her close to him, and know that Velna wasn't going to disappear as soon as she walked out the door. After all, he didn't deserve her. After the way he had treated her, he didn't deserve her. She deserved so much better than what he could ever offer. "I'm sorry, love, that I have treated you so aweful." he whispered in her ear.

Velna-

"And I've treated you any better?" She laughed smiling up at him. She reached up and pulled his face to her's and kissed him. "Let's forget about it, ok?" She smiled, "Ryder will want me home." She didn't want to go, but she also didn't want to anger her brother.

Ryder-

"I promise, I can't garentee we'll be with each other twenty four seven, we are still assassins. But I'm not about to lose you no matter what." He smiled kissing her softly.

Alex:

He laughed. "More than I deserve love. Please don't go!" he begged. "I don't want you to leave." he drew her back in his arms and kissed her passionately. "I'm not going to let you leave." he teased.

"I have to!" she said, trying to pull away.

"Please don't." he whispered in her ear, then kissing it, nipping a bit. "Do you really want to?" he asked her, hoping that she would stay.

"But...Ryder!"

"What about me?" he continued nipping at her ear. "Do you really want to leave?" he challenged.

Dali:

"Okay." I snuggled further into his arms. "Do you mind if I sleep here?" I asked, suddenly nervous that he would take my question the wrong way. I just wanted to lay in his arms all night. They made me feel comfortable and safe, two things I had never felt in my life! "Would you mind if I..." I stopped, cutting myself off. He probably would think I was asking something else...but...I sighed and gulped.

"maybe I should go home." I didn't want to move.

Velna-

Velna shook her head no, "But.."

"If you don't want to go, don't, as you've said you can take care of yourself." He smiled, she just wanted to melt. She leaned her head against his shoulder, this wasn't fair. She couldn't pick between Alex and Ryder, no matter how hard she tried.

"I guess it wont hurt." She said smiling up at him,

Ryder-

Ryder looked down at her conserned.

"If you want to stay you can, I don't mind at all. You can sleep here too if you want." He said kissing the top of her head. "Velna wont mind and I deffiniatly don't." He wrapped his arms around her shoulders and drew her closer. "I don't want you to leave." He mumbled to the top of her head. He didn't care if she heard him, he just wanted her to be in his arms, for her to be his.

Alex:

He smiled. "Good." he started kissing her neck. "You smell divine, love."

Her eyes widened. He smiled. he had been dying to do this since the moment he had saw her. "Love, if you just want to lay in my arms, then tell me so." he whispered in her ear. "But, otherwise,..." he grinned, and nibbled on her ears more, using his tongue to play with them as well. He had never done this before! He had no idea what he was doing...but he knew that he wanted to make her happy...in every way!

"I love you." he whispered.

Dali:

"Okay." I said. I didn't have anything else to say. I was tired. I layed my head on his shoulder, comfortable and warm. "Goodnight...I love you." I said, barely concious of what I was doing, as I started to drift into a nice sleep...
