The quest
The realm of Buwen is on the verge of war. The neighboring realm, Saquesh, is in the hands of King Kaleb, a ruthless who believes in 'good business'. Because of failing crops, Buwen has been unable to meet the terms of their treaty with Saquesh, and so must pay a hefty toll to avoid Kaleb's wrath.
But the magical jewel selected as payment has gone missing, along with Buwen's young King Wendel. If the stone isn't retrieved, Kaleb will crush Buwen under the heels of his army. And if the Wendel isn't found, Buwen is likely to fall into civil war.
King Wendel's advisor has sent out messengers searching for would be heroes, even sending word to those of the less favored races (goblins and trolls) as well as the promise for protection and rewards.
The rules
a. God-moding pisses people off, don't do it.
b. No killing other people's characters without their permission, and if you are going to grievously wound them make sure you have their permission.
c. If any (or all four) or your characters have the same names and personailities as the main characters from cowboy bebop despite the fact this is a fantasy set in medeival type times--I will kill you. Instantly. *has had a bad experience* =P
Races
Elves: Secretive, they own the Valley of Velshar and do a good job of keeping everybody else out. They have no patience for human folly (or at least most of them don't).
Humans: Most of the population
Dwarves : Pretty anti-social, not seen often. Their is a dying race, much like the elves. They don't reproduce as quickly as the humans, and so they lose territory all the time. They mostly dwell in underground cities, around mountains and the occasional dwarf resides among humans where they are an oddity.
Goblins/trolls: Goblins and trolls are said to have once been elves and dwarves, respectively. No one but the elders of these two races know the truth, but it is no secret that just as the elves and dwarves respect each other, they also respect these two races. Humans--on the other hand--fear the goblins and trolls and went so far as enslaving them (in Saquesh). They dwell in the forests, swamps, and other uninhabited regions of the realms. They are said to be man-eaters and have no mercy for humans who cross their path. Though they can often be found 'serving' a human who has 'claimed' them.
Other races
Dragons: They haven't been seen in nearly a century, but all (except the elders) were said to be about the size of a ship. Characters with mixed dragon blood is allowed, and turning into a dragon is okay (but only temporarily, obviously).
Immortals: Said to have lived before any of the other races, the Immortals were said to be beings of great power. They vanished from the continent soon after the other races began to appear. Being one of them is off limits.
Mythological: Like dragons, you can't actually be one because their races have had little to no contact with the other races, but hints of blood (allowing for minor abilities and features) and transformations are allowed. Just don't abuse being a kick-butt race, please.
Hope I didn't forget anything! For now just post your character following the outline. You are allowed up to 2 characters, three if you (as the plot progresses) volunteer to control one of the main villains.
Name:
Age:
Race:
Class: (profession, if any)
Specific skills: (If they have magical abilities, here's a good place to list it. Stuff they're good at, etc. A general description of their abilities, basically)
Possessions: (Any special possessions? List them here. Mention if they are visible to other people as well. Oh, and weapons, lets not forget the weapons.)
Personality: (I personaly think it's more fun to get to know other people's characters through interaction, so if you want people to know what your character is like--say if you're concerned someone might use them and mess up their personality--then feel free to tell us a bit.)
Usage*: If you have a problem with other people using your character, say so (specify what you don't like. This is also good if you don't mention much about their personality and want to avoid people using them until they are more well known).
Description: (Picture or words works just fine)
*I did this ORPG a while back, and there was absolutely no using other people character's--at all. So I added the 'usage' to be polite, since I know I was always paranoid about people making my characters do crazy things when my back is turned (one guy went and got my character stabbed in the stomach >_>)--but you guys are all great, so I'm not worried.
I hope this works, it's my first attempt at and ORPG here. *crosses fingers*
^_^ Keek!
