I just went back to edit my news article, and at the bottom of the page it said, "approve for front page status," or something to that effect. I clicked on it, and it brought me to a page that said, "Approve another?" So I clicked on it and it said I wasn't allowed to access that. I went to the front page of the News section, and my article was the featured one all of a sudden. I'm just wondering if I should be able to see that page at all, or if I should un-click the thing that featured my article. :/

Points/review bug.

I did a "review" earlier on a piece of work, as in a long comment that got counted, so I decided to delete it so it wasn't a lie. And so when you delete your reviews, your review count doesn't go down accordingly, or the points you got for it go away.

So ya, I can see some ways to get points and higher review counts out of this thingy.

That "glitch" is there on purpose because sometimes threads get deleted. When a thread gets deleted with reviews in it, people shouldn't lose their review counts as a result.

None of the threads in the new novel sub-forums have the "Like" option. This could be intentional, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. And none of the threads in the novel sub-forums have the following statement under the "quick reply" button:

To be counted as a review, your reply must be at least 250 characters long.

Always remember to use good grammar and to tell the author something helpful when writing a review. If you liked the work, give it a gold star.

They do have the character counter, however.

(And I highlighted "give it a gold star" because you might want to change that to "like it" instead, since that's the new system we're working with.)

Thanks!

EDIT:

Also, reviews on topics in the novel sub-forums aren't showing up on the "Comments by this user" section of the profile. They do seem to count for the review count, but they just don't show up under the Lit. Comments tab.

They aren't counting for me. I wrote a review there and it still says I have 50.

Merlin, can you tell me which forum? I've noticed there's an issue, but unfortunately I haven't had time to pinpoint which forum is causing the issue.

Evi: Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to get that fixed.

Dear Nate,

Every time I try to log out of chat, it opens up a new window in a new frame in the same page. If I try to log out of that chat, it does the same, and I wind up with frames within frames within frames until chat becomes invisible. I have included a screenshot below.

I don't believe browsers are an issue because I tried logging out in Firefox and IE, and the same thing happened.

I've had the same problem as Kyllorac with chat, it's like it turns into a window within a window. I found that refreshing the page fixes it, though.

(Sorry to post again so soon!)

I'm pretty sure that threads in the novel sub-forums with zero or one replies aren't showing up under those lists in the "recent additions" drop-down menu. And, topics in the novel sub-forums for Fanfiction, Historical Fiction, and Science Fiction don't have the option to "Click for Possible Related Items".

So, I think it's safe to say that something about the novel sub-forums is still a bit awry!

Thanks, Nate.

Aye, there's currently a lot of issues with the new novels forums. I've fixed the primary one (the not counting of reviews), and the remaining fixes will be coming in the next few days.

With the chat, just close the window or navigate to a new page. That'll log you out.

Chat has spazzed out and Kit is continiously logging in and out. As of this post it's been going on for about 10 minutes.

Edit: 15 minutes now. If there's a mod on, please come into chat and fix this or we may all have to leave chat.

Edit again: Now 20 minutes.

Note: It stopped....after over 20 minutes. :?

You probably know this by now, but the novels stuff! :D

Although it counts for reviews now for your overall count, it doesn't count for reviews in the leaderboards, nor does it count when you want to view your last literary reviews in your profile.

Chat bug! SPEW signed up on Safari 4.0.5 (Mac OS 10.5.8) and even though he kept logging off, it still said he was there. Kind of weird!

I was looking at The team page, and I noticed a bunch of people who most definitely are not mods listed as mods. I'm not sure why, but I figured I'd point it out. ;)

Are you maybe talking about the people who are moderators of usergroups?
