((sorry, I was studing for 3 hours. No exaderation.))))

Katrina-

I floated back from the kitchen-or whatever you call it-, the food in my shadow hands. I saw Trinity and Trent on Amber's shoulder. This sorta thing made me feel safe, even though we were trying not to be seen by our enemies, on a boat full of them. Amber walked past a guard, not arising any suspicion, or not that I noticed.

*this must look like a pathetically short post, doesn't it? Sorry....*
I realized that I said I'd be gone for only two weeks...but I was gone for much longer.I hope to stay on this time. :)

(Yeah, it does, but don't worry about it.)

The others got back with the food a few minutes later. Amber slipped out of the body she was using and Asher tied him up and gagged him again.

"Did you run into any trouble?" Asher asked as they set down the barrels of food.

"No," Amber said. "There seems to be less guards on the boat than there were on the docks."

Asher nodded. "We can use that to our advantage." He motioned for everyone to huddle up. "While they were looking for food I thought up a plan. We'll wait twelve hours after this boat leaves this island before we start the next part of our operation." He looked at Amber. "Amber, this plan relies heavily on you."

"Hey, I don't want to stay on this island anymore than you do," she said. "Whatever you've got planned for me, I'll do it."

He nodded. "Alright. While we were sneaking into the boat I noticed security cameras all around the boat." He saw a few faces go wide with shock. "Relax, everyone. When I saw them they didn't have the red record lights on. These guards were probably just starting their shift so they might not have turned them on yet, which is lucky for us."

"So what's our plan?" Katrina asked.

"Amber will take this guy's body again and go to the security room. When you're there, take out the guards and turn of the cameras and any other equipment you think might give us away. Once you've done that, head to the bridge. Just because the cameras are out doesn't mean they can't still call the people from the island through the radio."

"Okay, so I have to take out the cameras and the radio as well as all the people in those rooms," Amber said. "Why don't I just kill everyone on the ship?"

Asher shook his head, he knew she was being sarcastic. "Once you've taken out the people in the bridge and the radio, you'll then send us the signal."

"And what's the signal?"

"Turn on the ship's intercom and say, 'Private Asher, please report to the deck,'" he told her. He turned to face everyone else. "When she gives the signal, we'll take over the ship."

"I think the hardest part will be waiting twelve hours," Trent said.

"It'll all be worth it once we've found freedom," Asher told him.

Trinity-

Trinity looked at the others. "Couldn't we get the ship moving faster, I mean there has to be a way to get the wind moving or something so the times goes by faster."

"We should get some rest though." Trent said laying his head back. "I know I'm tired." He changed to a flea and laid down on a crate.

"I know, but would there be a way after we took over to get it going faster?" She asked looking at the others.

Katrina-

I didn't know what to do, it would be nice to sleep, but I also thought it would be good to move faster. I turned into a shadow, I also wanted to sleep, but I decided I would let them decide, most of my decisions didn't turn out well.

"So, do you want to go to work with me?" my father said.

"Of coarse I do!" I said, I was still a six year old, a poor inoccent six year old.

"Well, we'll go tomorrow, at Take Your Child To Work Day, the office is excited to meet you."

"Really?" I asked, eyes full with wonder.

"Yep, they really think you'd be usefull."

"What do you mean?" My father paused, like he was thinking of what to say.

"For small things, like just getting people coffee,"

Why did I choose to go? That was a bad decision. I wanted to get out of here, quickly.

"I agree with trinity," I say, turning back into my human form,"i think we should get out of here fast, before something goes terribly wrong."

Asher nodded. "I want to get out of here, too, maybe more so than the rest of you. I have been in that place longer than you all have, I've been tortured much more than all of you. But this is a delicate operation, and I'm surprised we made it this far at all. I know you all want to get out of here, but we can't do anything that may risk our hard-fought freedom. Once we've taken the boat we can find a way to make it go faster, but until then we're not going to rush this." He glanced at everyone. "Is that understood?"

****I might not be on for a while.*****

Trinity-
"Alright," Trinity sighed finding a spot to lay down. She couldn't fall asleep right away though. A few of the others were shifting around.

Trent-

Trent looked around. The others were tryign to sleep, at least most of them were. He shifted back to his human form, it was hard to figure out how to sleep as a bug.

He leaned against a wall and crossed his arms watching everyone. He would watch over them until he needed to sleep. He wasn't quiet tired yet.

**Thought I'd step back into this**

Tranquility didn't need to sleep, so he decided to just stand guard while the others slept. He crouched to one side of the stairs, ready to spring at anything that came down. His eyes flicked from one experiment to the next, then back to the top of the stairs.

Hey everyone, sorry for the long absense, I was on a skiing trip.

Amber

I watched as most of the group fell asleep, hovering above them, my thoughts plagued by jealousy. How nice it must be for them to still have bodies that could lay down and rest. To touch the ground without thinking, to close their eyes and sleep.

"You might as well sleep, I can keep guard," Tranquility whispered, the words another lash in my side. I turned to face him, feeling my luminent orange eyes prickle with tears that did not exist. If a wraith could cry, I would.

"I can not sleep," I told him. "Not without taking a body and then it is the body I rest in that sleeps and not me. That ability is one I no longer possess."

"How did you die?" Asher asked suddenly, his eyes flickering open. I had presumed him asleep but made no attempt to hide my surprise. I grimaced and shifted in the air; agitated.

"It was murder," I said.

Katrina-

I heard the words clearly "How did you die?" It was Asher, who was 'sleeping' by me. I couldn't sleep, my eyes begged me to so badly, but after being at the Center for so long, it's become a habit not to sleep. I kept my eyes shut, by my ears were listening, wanting to devour the information as soon as it comes out of her mouth.

"It was murder," I heard Amber say. The words surprised my so much I wanted to gasp, right then and there. Murder? I thought of that word, I wanted to die peacefully. Granted, the chances of that ever happening was demolished when I was taken to the center by my father. Asher was quiet for a moment, seeping the information in.

"By who?" He asked quietly, not waking those who were asleep.

"By my brother," Amber answered quietly.

Asher blinked long and hard, as if her was thinking. He shook his head. "Killed by your own kin, that may be a worse crime than what those scientists were doing to us."

"Once we get to the mainland I'm going to have my revenge," she said. Her eyes began to burn with anger.

"Amber, I'm going to tell you about something I discovered in the center," Asher said, his voice soft.

"What did you discover?" she asked.

"It was a personal discovery," he said. "Like you, I wanted revenge on those people for what they did to me, to all of us. It was the only thing that fueled me, my anger was the only thing that kept me warm at night." His eyes were serious now. "When I climbed up the wall and into the observation deck I got my wish. I killed those people, killed as many of them as I could. I was blinded by my anger, my rage, that I couldn't think like a human being. The sensation was so great it was overwhelming. But when it was all over, the only thing that had changed was their deaths. That's when I realized that no matter how many of those scientists I kill, their blood will not change me back to the way I was."

Asher looked up to meet Amber's eyes. "It's your choice to carry out your revenge or not, but just remember that it won't make you any happier than you are now."

Katrina-

I heard Ashers's* words, and I imagined the scene. I felt bad for Amber, killed by her own brother. That's just as bad, maybe even worse, then being turned into a mutant by your father. I felt exausted, my bones ached and I felt odd from turning into a shadow more than I'm used to. So I started to just relax, and fall asleep. There was Asher, Amber, and Tranquility around me. Awake. They would surely wake me up if anything went wrong. So I started to sleep.

Amber

I turned away and wrapped my arms around my body, a shadowy young woman; upset and afraid.

"I want to see him," I said. "I want him to see me, to see what he's done to me, I want to see if he's proud, if he's happy. Does he have what he wanted, does he..." I realised that I'd clenched my hands into fists and loosened them, my anger fleeing for a moment. "I wish I knew what he wanted, I wish I knew why," I whispered before turning again. If I'd been able to cry, my face would have been covered with tears but instead only my amber eyes could express emotion and I felt too many for all to be revealed.

A heavy silence stilled our conversation for some time.

"You don't know why?" Tranquility asked at last, over-come with curiosity.

"No," I said in a hard, cold voice. "I don't know why." It was the truth... in part. I could only guess at his reasoning. He had been drunk - I could smell the alcohol on his breath, mingling with sweat and that tangy stench of blood as he cut me again and again - but that was no reason. No, something else had been behind it, I'd known something was wrong as soon as I'd opened the door.

Asher stared at Amber for a few moments, taking in what he had heard. He simply nodded, as if he understood everything she just said. "You must be tired," he said, "but you can't sleep unless you're in someone else's body, correct?"

Amber nodded. "That's right."

"In that case, you can rest in my body."

She looked at him then, her disbelief showed clearly in her eyes. "...What?"

"We have all had a rough time so far, and we all need to have strength for the upcoming battle to take the ship. I can't imagine how long you've gone without sleep these past years. The only thing I can do to help is offer my body so you may get a few hours of sleep."

Amber

"That's... very kind of you," I replied, my eyes fixed on his face as I watched his steady expression. Honesty. Sincerity. "Thank you." He nodded and leaned back against the wall, his body pressing close that a part of me expected him to fall through. It was, after all, what I was used to.

I approached him nervously, cautiously and placed my hand in his. For a moment I recalled the touch of a human, his warm flesh against my cold, barely physical skin. I smiled at him, a brief genuine smile before the temptation was too great and I melted into his body to rest in the warm cacoon.

On some level, I could feel Asher's consciousness and there was no resistance, not even the slight waver that Tranquility had held. I did not touch his thoughts or memories, I did not invade his peace. Not when he had granted me my own peace.
