Rask-

A hard shove from the front, and a foot placed expertly at the back of my ankle sent me falling backwards. Any human would've simply fallen and sprung back up.

Thankfully for me, I wasn't human.

Pretending to fall backwards, I easily backflipped and landed a few feet away, smiling.

"You really didn't expect to take me down THAT easily, did you?" I asked, spinning the gold clasp around one finger idly.

She shrugged and again turned ivisible. I touched the bone running next to my eye and whispered a word. Instantly she begane visable again, but only to my eyes. She wasn't the only one with magic.

I watched as she slowly edged around me, watching her from the corner of my eyes. Just as she raised her hands again, i whipped around and grabbed her arms at th wrists, pinning them together in front of her. I smiled and raised an eyebrow.

This was fun, like a game really. It had been a while since I had had a decent fight with a well matched apponenent.

Bella began thinking...how could she outsmart this elf. Magic was something they both had, and she had the feeling they were evenly matched with it. They were barely inches apart right now, and she could feel his breath on her face.

Unexpected....she thought silently.

She couldn't keep trying to trip him; it did nothing. She locked eyes with him.

Unexpected....she thought again. Unexpected and distracting. Catch him off guard...

Leaning forward quickly, she kissed Rask full on the lips. He was certainly caught off guard, as was Bella when he kissed back. Bella was used to being somewhat distracted though, and managed to slip her hair-clip out of his hand mid kiss.

When in doubt, have the characters fall in love. That's our motto, eh, Bella? Always worked for us. XD

Rask-

The girl's kiss had been unexpected, but it took only a split second to come up with a way to surprise her as well. I leaned in and kissed back, feeling the gold band slip out of my fingers. I didn't care; the Kender would get it back if i told him to.

I snapped my fingers and one second i was standing, kissing the girl, the next i was behind her with her wrists in my hands again.

"Best not get involved with me, love. You've no idea what you'd be getting yourself into." I whispered into her ear from behind.

"Yick!" the kender yelled in disgust as he watched the pair kiss.

"Uhhh, guys could you make this a little less disgusting for the younger veiwers?" Kahlak said gesturing to the 15 year old kender.

Rask blushed realising he had just gotten caught up in a distraction.

The kender ran up to Bella and gave her a hug.

Caught completely off guard she didn't realise that the kender had stolen back her golden hair clasp.

Running away he said in a sing-song voice,

"FINDERS KEEPERS, LOSERS WEEPERS!"

Kahlak genuinely laughed and said,

"I do beleive the thief has got you there, as you well know!"

Rask still unable to believe he had been distracted, calmly stood there.

Bella sighed,

"Ahhhh, so thats the way you want to play it, huh?"

Flint nodded in excite and yelled,

"Come get it off me, if you really want it!"

Bella jumped towards the kender sure she would just hit him and he would go cark it. Flint dogded and grabbed her head, pushing his thumb directly into the soft spot beneath the chin and held her there.

Rask mouth had dropped so far that you could fit a log in it. How did the Kender do that? Is it true what he said in the Tavern? Is he really a Royal Bastard? . . . Nah! he just probably learnt that off one of his thief friends.

After a while she was unconscious, Flint boasted,

"And that my aquaintances, is the way you deal with evil mages!"

This statement earned a hard glance from Rask and Flint said as a apology,

"What i mean is that's the way you deal with evil mage WOMEN!"

The kender giggled wildly.

Kahlak sighed and began roping the mage up, mumbling stuff like,

"Stupid humans just don't know when to stop!"

He tied her like a hog and shoved an exotic fruit that he had picked off an nearby tree into her mouth.

Flint laughed again as a wonderful idea popped into his head. He pulled a parhcment of paper, along with a pen out of his cloak. He began writing,

Dear Bella, MAge friend of mine.

If you are reading this you are well aware that we, Rask, Kahlak and I are long gone. The golden clasp is the payment of your life for now. Anymore interventions and or distractions will make the payment null and void, allowing me to . . .ahhh shall i say to make more violent measures of which you won't live past. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT FOLLOW US!

LUB YA!
Your Fave Kender, Flint

After passing it to Rask and allowing him to read it and agree to let him leave it with Bella, Flint tied it to the exotic fruits stem.

Kahlak pushed the woman out of their path and underneath a bush so passer-by's would not notice her.

Rask who had been mostly watching walked off and said to the unconscious woman,

"Scienara!"

Arastone and I had been flying for awhile now. All too soon we reached thedge of the village and had to land. Fire circled around until he could find a good place. As we descended he flashed into his smaller form and I landed gingerly on the ground.

I pulled my pack off and sat down at the base of a tree, waiting for the others to show up. I was edgy something was happening nearby, probably a fight. My senses were good, honed in the slums of a human city, where murder was a common sight, they had to be good, or else I would've died in some alley along time ago.

Looking over at Arastone, I saw that she was nervous as well. I flashed her a quick smile, "Seems we're attracting trouble today aren't we?"

Hey, Light_Devil, it may just be me, but i'd realy appreciate it if you didn't take control of my character so much. Having Rask say some tings that go along with his personality is fine, but please don't take over his thoughts and/or major actions. It just kind of annoying.

Thanks.

Rask-

I trailed after my companions, my head bowed in thought and my hood cast low over my face. I had been slightly disgusted and appalled by what the two of them had done to the girl. A simple spell and some rope would've been adequate.

I made up my mind then.

I could always catch up with these guys again later; they'd be fine. But the girl i wasn't sure about. Afterall...she HAD been quite charming...

Without a word, i snapped my fingers and teleported back to where we had left the girl hidden in the bushes. She had not moved. I removed the fruit from her mouth and propped her up against a tree. Then i leaned my back against a tree opposite and stood there, waiting for her to wake up. Fishing in my pocket, i withdrew the shiney gold clasp that i had extracted from the Kender's pockets right before i had left. Twirling it around my finger lazily, i stared off into the surrounding woods.

*Dark_Light, I have to agree with Maybe on not taking over other peoples characters so much. It makes it hard for everyone to form their own character. =D*

Bella-

I opened my eyes slowly, trying to remember what had happened.

"That Goddamn Kender!" I cursed for the second time that night. Someone chuckled, and I looked up. Rask was leaning against a tree, smiling slightly. At the same time that I wanted to be mad at him for everything that had happened, I was all too pleased to see him. I rolled my eyes, trying to get out of my bonds. This resulted in my tumbling over sideway from where I had been propped. Rask chuckled again as I continued to struggle.

"What the hell, did you enchant the ropes before tying me up?"

"If anyone did, I know nothing of it. I played no part in this."

"Then what are you doing here? Where are the others?"

"I left them in order to make sure you were all right." Of course, right when I wanted to be furious with him, he said something sweet and caring!

"Well, if you really want to make sure I'm all right, could you untie me?" I requested.

"I don't know," Rask replied tauntingly. "What's in it for me?"

"I can't give you anything until you untie me, you buffoon!" I replied sarcasically.

"You are in no position to be calling names, love," Rask chuckled.

"Fine, what do you want in return for untying me?"

Rask-

I twirled the gold clasp around my hand, smiling.

"How 'bout this?"

She pursed her lips and frowned, but finally nodded. I smiled again and poeketed the clasp before snapping my fingers. The ropes tied around her began to uncoil themselves like snakes.

"Liar. You DID put an enchantment on them!"

I shook my head. "No, i didn't."

I didn't argue. For some reason, I was just that sure that he was telling me the truth. I had always been good at reading people (magic helps a big, of course).

"Why did you go through all this trouble for a hair peice?" Rask asked, helping me to my feet.

"Nothing," I murmured, not wanting to bring back the bad memories.

"Nothing is a horrid reason to do anything," Rask said, chuckling. I smiled a little.

"You're right, it's a lot more than nothing. My parents died when I was very young, and I was raised by a very kind Mage. She lived in the middle of no where, but we kept each other company. I don't know her name...always called her Grams. Before she died, I was sixteen, she gave me that hair clasp." I took a deep breath, holding back the tears that always came at this time. Rask put a hand on my shoulder gently. "She told me it was passed down from her teacher's teacher to her teacher, to her, and that she was passing it down to me. It has magical properties, from what she said. I've never taken it off until today." I finished, wiping a single tear from my cheek and hoping Rask didn't notice my crying. He probably did...he noticed everything.

Rask-

I watched as a single tear fell down her cheek, catching it as it fell on my fingertip. I withdrew the clasp from my pcket and handed it back to her.

"If it means that much to you, then here. I've got plently to stuff as it is."

She looked up at me. "Really?"

I laughed softly. "Yes, really."

She smiled and looked as though she was about to hug me. I took a quick step back.

"Lets not get mushy."

It's ok, Light_Devil. We realize you're new and probably aren't very familiar with some of the rules. If you have any questions or concerns regarding storybooks, PM either myself or Griffinkeeper. We'd be glad to help, as I'm sure many other YWS members would be, too. Don't feel bad, we all made mistake when we were first starting out. You're not the only one.

"Thank you," I murmured, hooking my hair back. Rask watched me, an oddly interested look in his eyes. I didn't point it out to him, in the off chance that it made him twitchy. "Where to now?"

"What?"

"I want to come with you. Are you going back with the others?"

"I was planning on it, yes," Rask seemed surprised; taken off guard. "Why do yo uwant to come with?"

"Why not? It'll be something different. I'm bored anyway. And if I get caught, I can all too easily escape, as can you. There is no risk for either of us, besides death."

"Good point. Then I guess we're going back to them. We could catch up by wakling though, instead of teleporting. I doubt you want to see them again so soon."

"Walking is preferable, yes. Can I ask you a strange question?"

"Of course," Rask began walking, and Bella did the same.

"What were you thinking when I kissed you?" Bella asked, smirking.

"Um...well...What were you thinking?" he challenged, trying to evade the question.

"I was thinking that you were a fairly decent kisser, and that you were one hell of a fighter. Now what were you thinking?" bella waited expectantly.

"Hey where's Rask gone off to?" Flint asked curiously.

Kahlak shrugged.

"Are you sure you don't know? You knew him before I did!" the kender asked more intrigued.

"You thinked he magicked away?"

Kahlak shrugged once again, wondering if the kender was right.

"What if he went back to help that evil mage? What if they were both acomplices and were working together? What if they just really wanted to rob us? Maybe they're working for the government!" Flint said carrying himself away in imagination.

Kahlak not believing most of what Flint said was now starting to become paranoid. Where exactly was Rask?

Flint was going off again, rambling on about the treasures he had found. Suddenly a thought occured to him,

"Hey, Kahlak?"

"Yer?" the orc answered barely even interested.

"Suppose his in love with that mage?"

Kahlak stopped in mid-track. That would explain alot. . . .

Flint smiled delightfully and whispered,

"You do realise I'm just pulling your leg don't you?"

This is when Kahlak started lying,

"Yes, of course I do!"

The kender's smile deepened knowinf full well that the orc was indeed lying,

"Hey, Kahlak?"

Sighing Kahlak said,

"Yes, what is it now?"

"Why do you want to rob this treasury for?"

Kahlak stared at Flint suspisciously,

"I could ask you the very same question!"

The kender completely ingoring him said,

"Oh and one more thing, why were you so angry when I took your ring?"

Kahlak ignored him and said instead,

"So, thief, if i answer your questions will you answer some of mine?"

Flint nodded happilly.
