Robin

When Robin got up the next morning and found himself lying in the gutter, his shirt filthy and his muscles aching, he did not remember how he had gotten away from the abandoned building the previous night. He was so tired, he walked a few yards in the uncomfortable sunlight and fell down, dizzy. His bite mark felt tingly and he itched it.
"Thank God", he said. He wasn't completely a vampire until a fortnight.

"Where're your parents kid?" he heard a policeman say, suddenly near him. He snarled loudly and the cop fell over gasping. Robin picked himself up and with a great effort started running down the alley.

Clariesse

Someone broke her phone in the middle of her 911 call. She had to get to a police station, or a place with a phone and people. Clariesse stared at the girl for a moment before running.

Robin

The scene was worse than he had expected. Vampire blood evaporated in the sun and a row of bodies stood inside a cordon, with officers standing over them and taking notes. A photographer with a digital camera was taking pictures of the dead. Robin's mind reeled. He stepped quickly ou of the sun and tumbled in a pile under a chestnut tree.

One of the cops called a higher officer and showed him one of the bodies.
"Sir. Do you see those gashes , sir? I am positive I had seen them on the victim's body. That high school P.E. teacher, sir. It's the very same," he said breathlessly.
"You're right. By god, do you see number 8's teeth. This is not a case for us, Doyle. Call the cheif, on the double."
Doyle trotted to the police car and shut the door behind him.

Robin shook his head and found it racing. He had to find out what had happened. Crows were sitting all over the place cawing. One of them looked at him almost meaningfully. It was too much. He got up quickly and walked upto the photographer.

"Sir, sir. Quick. Come with me," he said excitedly, pulling the man's hand towards a corner, "Here, mister. Quick. There's another body."
He took the man right to the corner, then plucked the camera from his hand and ran in a direction away from the police. There would be all kinds of people watching the area, even fiends.
He winced as the photographer shouted after him, "Hey kid. Get back here. For Pete's sake, not my camera. Shit."

Two streets crossed, he took a left turn and stood in a darkish area then sat down on a flight of steps near a children's garden. He quickly scrolled through the pictures of the dead vampires. Then he saw two faces beside each other with thier name tags on them. They were identified and were wearing clerical clothes. One tag read "Paedro Arrupe". The other read "Alexander Robinson". The photos ended. Nobody else had died. Robin swept his glasses off and started to cry. He heard the children a few metres away stop laughing. A little urchin walked upto him, grabbed the camera lying beside him and ran away.

Arianna

"Should we go after her?" Ari wondered, taking a step in that direction. Lucy shrugged, watching after the girl.

"I don't know. I suppose the police will find out eventually but..."

"We might as well," Arianna decided and Lucy nodded her agreement. Together, they set off, walking quickly but the girl was already out of sight and Ari had to take to the air to direct them.

"She's nearly at the station!" Ari panicked, not quite sure why it mattered so much but she had a deep sense of dread and then suddenly, atop the police station roof - "There's one of those creatures, a vampire!" Lucy rounded the corner and Arianna swooped down to perch on her shoulder. They both stood, transfixed as the vampire snarled and dived off the roof towards the human.

Lucy concentrated all of her strength onto her vectors thrusting them deep into the vampire's neck as fell towards the girl. Quickly, she snatched them back out. A large Pop! was heard as it's neck broke, causing it to fall, paralyzed, a few feet from the girl. She stopped, shocked, and gasped at the horrid creature lying next to her, too afraid and confused to move. Weaving, Lucy wrapped two of her vectors around the girl's ankles.

"Ari....I've got her...but not for long." Her voice was coming in short breaths as she struggled to keep control over herself and consciousness.

Arianna

Ari hurried towards the girl, taking her by the shoulders and turning her around gently, the swish of red hair reminding her of the pools of blood across the stone floor of the church. And those eyes. Such a deep, intense green.

"Woah, are you okay? Some real strange people around here lately, huh?" Arianna gushed as the girl gaped over her shoulder, at the dead vampire. "I mean, did you hear about what happened at that church? There's police everywhere!"

"What is that?" The girl pulled away and stared at the corpse that had fallen between her and the police station. She backed away slightly. Drat, Ari thought Lucy's had to let go. She approached the girl again and took her hand gently. The girl observed her with apprehension and suspicion.

"It's a vampire," Arianna said simply. "And there are others around but if you come with Lucy and me, we can walk you home. It's getting dark." Ari began to lead the girl towards Lucy but she hesitated.

"You and Lucy?" She darted a glance in the other girl's direction and shrank back. "I think she's with them. I'm sure she broke my phone earlier..."

"No, no, Lucy's one of the good girls. I'm Ari by the way, Arianna. And you?"

"Uh... Clariesse. And why should I believe you?"

"Because I don't have pointy teeth."

Clariesse stayed quiet for a few moments before finally speaking.

"Okay."

Dazed, she stared into the dark void that now held her mind at it's will. She struggled to fight against it; this time it had a greater hold upon her, for she had used more of her power. Suddenly, something was pulling her away from the darkness.

"Lucy! Lucy!" Arianna's voice was shattering through her conscience, "Lucy! Wake up!" Ari was now shaking her, but not too violently as the red-haired girl watched, confused. Lucy blinked, moaned and swayed against Ari, who caught her with an arm of support.

Arianna

"That's it, take it easy, okay?" Ari beamed at Lucy and turned to see the red haired girl darting away.

"Ari..." Lucy swayed a little again so Arianna pulled her closer.

"Leave her. If she wants to get herself killed, it's not our fault. We've done what we could and I'm not leaving you to go chasing after a stupid human," Arianna said rather harshly as she guided Lucy along the path. Ahead of them, the girl slowed and hesitated.

"Stupid human?" Clariesse asked, turning to face them but keeping her distance. "I thought you said you didn't have pointy teeth."

"I don't," Ari replied with a slight smirk. "But Lucy has horns if you're really interested in sharp objects and I suppose my claws can shred a few outfits or my talons, yeah, they're real dangerous." Clariesse's eyes flitted to Arianna's hands, her brow wrinkling in conclusion.

"I'm so out of here," she mumbled.

"Yeah. So are we. Still staying at mine, Lucy?" Lucy nodded and together they set off down the street, passing Clariesse as they did so. She hesitated and then began to follow; her house was down that street too.

She walked with Ari now, heading back toward the house. She wasn't in any condition to fight anymore of those things. As they walked, she wondered if the girl would follow them and report them to the police also. She didn't really care right now, though. She just wanted to rest.

"Ari...What is she doing?" Lucy asked as they were walking. Arianna looked over their shoulders, then back forward.

"I guess she's going home. She's watching us pretty hard." Ari replied.

"I can hear you up there!" Clariesse shouted at them.

Clariesse

"I can hear you up there!" She shouted at the two of them. Ari and Lucy fell silent for a little while. Clariesse went to the opposite side of the road, and went ahead of them, to a house. She opened the door and quickly got the phone.

"911? There are tons of bodies in the church, when I was trying to tell this before, two girls smashed my phone. I think their names are Lucy, and Ari. They are currently walking down 1st street." Clariesse said, and continued talking to the operator.

Arianna

"Hey Mom!" Ari called out as she entered her house, leading Lucy through to the sleek, black living room. Gently lowering Lucy into a black, leather chair, she hurried to the kitchen and filled a glass with water.

"Black?" Lucy asked when Ari entered.

"Yeah..." Arianna hesitated, her voice dropping to a whisper. "It's in memory of my father. He died in this room." Lucy froze in her action of taking the glass and a shiver ran down her spine. 'How?' her eyes seemed to aske, "How?" Her voice a mere whisper. Suddenly, Ari laughed, letting go of the glass that spilled a little water as Lucy took it. When she spoke though, her voice was quiet, sober, sad:

"He was a cop," she said. "Was reading the paper when the bullet came through the window. Escaped criminal."

"I'm sorry," Lucy said.

"It was a long time ago," Ari replied, "and led to my mother's current job. She hunts down escaped criminals,. the police are always calling to inform us..." Ari was cut off by the sound of the phone. "That's probably them now," she giggled. And how right she was though it was with a warning they called, not information.

Her eyes followed Ari to the phone, but she couldn't hear the conversation. Suddenly, she saw Ari's face fall. She shakily sat down her glass on a coffee table and watched as Ari came over to her with a slightly scared look upon her face.

Her mother called to them from another room, "Arianna? Who was that? Was it the station calling in another report?"

"No, mother...It was just, a friend." She replied, her voice shaky. When her mother didn't respond, she turned to Lucy, "They're looking for us."

Sighing, Lucy fell back into the chair. "Well, what are we supposed to do?" She was still feeling weak from using her powers too fast and too much at one time.

Arianna

"Lex - one of the officers - said there won't be enough evidence to stick but what he doesn't know is that we were probably caught on tape approaching the church at the wrong time and leaving after the crime. Someone is on the way over here to ask questions. Lex thinks we should answer honestly. I think we should go." As she said all of this, Arianna moved towards the back door and opened it.

"Going already, hunny?" Ari's mother called.

"Yeah... there's been a little trouble actually but we'll talk later. Byeeee!" Lucy looked slightly surprised and overwhelmed, as well as a little ill, as Arianna led the way down the street.

"But where do we go?" Lucy wondered.

Velna---

Velna felt an inhuman hunger tearing at her insides, morphing them, mutating her tastebuds, disrupting her human DNA and melding with hers. It was most unlucky the first animal she saw was a baby deer. Senna wept all she could smell was its meat. All she could hear was the blood coursing through it youthful form. Her stomach growled. She clutched her stomach and then the tree trying her hardest not to attack the deer.
