(Why isn't anyone posting? Oh well...)

Karana

I opened my eyes just as Raven fell to the side, a slightly dazed expression on her face.

"Raven!" I tried to catch her, but I was too sore to move.

"Easy, Karana. It could've killed you!" Ilum held onto me tighter, and I finally looked up at him.

(I'll just finish this up so we can move on with the story)

Luke can use Weapon Conversion!

There didn't seem to be any way to defeat this creature. It was being held together by dark magic. The monster didn't feel pain, every time they attacked one of its limbs it would screech and carry on without it. There had to be some weak point.

That's when Luke noticed its head and how its eyes glowed with an eerie, otherworldly light. There had to be something important in there to make its eyes glow like that. If only he could reach the head.

He suddenly felt a rush of power flowing through his body. It was instantaneous. One second he didn't feel it, and the next it was just there. He didn't know where it came from, just that he knew he could use it to strike down this colossus.

He reach for his short sword. As soon as he touch the handle the power flowed down his arm and into his blade. It burst into a shower of sparks and light and transformed into something different. The blade was now twice as long and brimming with electrical energy.

Luke rushed toward his enemy. The Husk noticed and threw its massive arm at him. Luke rolled to the side to avoid getting crushed. Before the creature pulled away, Luke jumped onto its arm and climbed up the rest of its body, using its limbs as platforms along the path of dark energy.

Once he got to the shoulder, he let out a cry and lunged his sword into the Husk's head. A few seconds of silence passed before the creature's glowing red eyes faded to nothing. Luke's sword turned back to normal in time for him to pull it out and jump to safety, before the energy holding the Husk together disappeared and its body collapsed in a pile of metal and iron.

If you've played some of the Final Fantasy games, Holy, Meteor, Time and Gravity are all basically the same. But, if you want to be more specific, Holy is the element of light that is meant to harm enemies and does extra damage against the undead. You could use it in the form of an explosion or a beam of light that seers the skin of your enemies. Meteor is basically a stage above Fire magic and is exactly what the name implies.

I'll give you a basic rundown of Advanced Magic. As you know, it's a much more powerful form of magic. But, it can only be used once a day and at level 1 the caster runs a risk of harming him/herself when casting it because of how dangerous it is. Because of how draining it is, your character won't be able to move for a few seconds after casting it. When you do cast it, you have to be sure to include some sort of risk to your character, like getting hurt because the they're too close to the blast radius, or some other risks. If you don't, I'll have to intervene and say when a spell does or does not hurt you. I'm not saying you have to fail casting it every time you use it. Moderation is the key.

I hope that clears things up a little.

Sounds good.

Raven

It started off as a faint buzzing in my ears and then gradually my head began to realine itself. It was strange. I could feel my nerves repairing the damage almost as if -- that was it -- I was healing myself. Next to return was feeling; an aching, drumming pain in my entire body that faded to exhaustion - as if I had not slept for days. Then I could make out voices and then words and finally my eyes began to twitch, eager to be open. I drew back my lids and looked up at the roof of a cave. No, not a cave, the cave.

For a few minutes more I lay still, allowing my magic to do its work while I tentatively tried to assess my situation. I was laying on the ground or rather upon some fabric - a coat? - over the floor of the cave. And there were voices still. Faint as if they were not in the same room but loud enough that I caught words such as 'children' and 'sleeping.' I levered myself up, surprised at how quickly I was recovering and looked around. Karana was sat talking to Ilum at the entrance to the cave. Other than them, no one was in sight. How long had I been resting? Why hadn't they moved me?

Ilum stood there looking out of the entrance of the cave. Warren and Luke had gone ahead to make sure the husks were truly dismembered. Karana was sitting next to him. "You okay?" He averted her glaze to her.

"I think so, thanks to you."

Ilum looked down, "There wasn't much I could do. Don't give me thanks."

"That's no true. You saved my life. That's more than something."

"Thank you Karana. That's the first kind thing someones said to me in a while."

She stood up and gave Ilum a hug. He hugged back and they stood there a moment until Raven broke in, "Am I interrupting?"
I will always fight back, no matter what.

(Yay! You're back!)

Karana

I turned to look at Raven, a smile crossing my lips. I didn't move otherwise.

"Feeling better, huh?" I asked, rhetorically. "That's good."

"What about you? I almost couldn't save you!" She looked at me critically. I could see concealed worry in her gaze. I almost felt guilty; she'd collapsed after healing me.

"I'll be fine. Thank you, Raven."

She smirked and pat me on the shoulder before striding past. I saw her glance over her shoulder, curiosity all over her face. I ignored her and looked at Ilum again. "Let's free these children and head back?"

He nodded, and we moved to break the locks on the cells.

Karana and Ilum have established a bond of friendship. Unity is now possible for these two characters.

(Don't forget, just like Weapon Conversion and Overdrive, you can't use it unless I say you can. I can't have you two fusing together and nuking every enemy you encounter.)

Raven

When I reached the outside of the cave, I held my arms out to the light and closed my eyes, taking deep, fulfilling breaths of air and allowing the scent of the grass and the soil to enter my nose.

"Raven?" Warren greeted me. I opened my eyes and turned to see that he and Luke were approaching from around the back of the cave.

"How are you feeling?" Luke asked.

"Better thanks," I replied. "Where have you been?"

"We took the husks out the back entrance and severed their heads," Luke replied.

"Oh. And the children?" I asked.

"We think they're being held deeper in the cave. We were going to take a look just now."

Karana

They had to be nearby. I could hear them, hear their cries for help.

Ilum and I rounded another corner, finding ourselves in another wide, tall cavern with cells carved out of the stone on all sides. Most of these cages were filled with children, a couple of them with adults. Even so, less than half of the people were up and moving, if not screaming for help.

"Ilum, you get that side," I pulled out my sword and moved to the right side of the cavern as Ilum took off for the others.

"Help us!"

"Get us out of here!"

"Are they dead?"

"Where are the Husks?"

People shouted at me from all directions, clouding my senses. I couldn't focus with all of this noise; I would have to use brute strength alone to break the locks.

"Stand back!" I screamed above them, swinging with all my power. After the third blow, the lock clattered to the ground and the gate swung open. I traveled from cage to cage, exerting myself to free the prisoners. A couple of them - the ones with stronger, newer locks - I couldn't hack open. And finally, I saw it.

An entire cell of bodies. Young and older children, all with glazed eyes and still, lifelessly staring into an abyss...

I wrapped a shaking hand around the poles in the gate, my whole body beginning to tremble.

"No..." I whispered, my voice cracking. I could feel the tears on my face.

"Karana?" Ilum stopped moving behind me; I knew he had noticed me, my silence, my motionlessness (sp?).

I sank to my knees on the floor, and let the tears fall.

akdsjfh you know that feeling where you start writing a scene but then you get bored with the scene so you move on and start writing a different scene and then you get bored with that scene so you move on to an entirely different WIP and then you get bored with that so you move on-
