A random thought occured to me today, and I figured Randomness would be the best fourm to post the idea in. What if there was a date, time, and public place where everyone from the YWS came and met each other face to face?

Good idea right?

This thread is to discuss the problems and possibilities.
I just lost the game.

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing a while ago. I think it'd be a good idea, but if it's anywhere outside of Ontario I doubt I'd be able to participate.

I have dreams about that, Alice. However, I, as well as many others, know it to be impossible for the ENTIRE YWS to get together in ONE place.

Maybe all the STLians get together?

But, the thing is...not all of YWS live in one country, let alone one state. They live across the oceans, across the border, or are just too darn young to fly an airplane by themselves. It's a dream that won't come true. Maybe plan a reunion in 20 years? XD

Yes, the main issue is that YWS is an international community (wow... doesn't THAT sound nifty!).

And, though I'm not being anti-social in any way or form, I don't feel in the least like flying over to America, as nice as it would be to meet everyone face to face. It just creates hundreds of problems, such as accomodation, travel, timing, etc.

However, that doesn't mean members can't get together. There could always be national, as opposed to international, meetings. For instance, all we Brits could get together. Although I'm guessing that for the bigger countries, like America/Canada/Australia, you'd have to have state gatherings, or something.

Or else, failing that, we could have that big reunion in 20 years!

Not that long methinks.

Earlier this summer, there was the first YWS Reunion of sorts. Participating was Firestarter, Mesh, Hunter, Empress Kat, Crysi, Snoink, and myself. The meeting took place in Livermore, California, which was the closest for everyone. Firestarter had taken a plane to visit the states.

So not only has the idea been thought of, it has been accomplished on a small scale.

Next year is going to be better. We're going to steal everyone we can. Period.
Got YWS? I do.

That would be a really good idea and I would normally jump on immediatly but some of us have very restrictive parents. (Like me) I would love to though. MEeting everyone would be great but mabye sometime i nthe near future, eh? (Not Canadian)

It'd be cool.

Cumbersome and incredibly difficult to pull off, but cool.

It's something I've thought about for a long time, too.

Agreed.

As for the strict parents thing, I know exactly how that is. Luckily, I've known Mesh for years, so as long as she was with me, my parents were okay with it.

Oh man. I miss you guys already. That was so awesome.

This sounds fun! I live in AZ so Cali would be the farthest I could go.
