My dad. He is sometimes the randomest person ever. One time, when we were little he told us the story of Black Beauty. Black Beauty ended up being killed several times in the story. And he's given me so many fond memories! Like the time he put freezing bacon in my warm bed. And who could forget the time where he put egg nog in the scrambled eggs?

Jane Austen - yes, that's why my romances are so detached.

If you are a fantasy geek who is you muse?

C.S. Lewis. And, sadly enough, I am told that my fantasies (which I haven't written, thank goodness) resemble Tokien's work. Which might be good except I consider Tolkien's work to be unreadable. *sighs* Gosh, what's so weird about inventing a mythology for a story?

I love the fact that you said fantasy geek. I have no muse. Every piece of writing I come in contact with influences me in some way.

I use music, depending on the voice I'm writing with.

One of the reasons I got really into Green Day was I got such good ideas while listening to them.

When it comes to mood [since I write mostly in first person] I change CDs while writing. The character of Luke requires the sarcastic, moody lyrics of Nimrod [Green Day] while Jeremy needs the crazy/hyper beats of 39 Minutes of Bliss [Caesars].

One of my mates is always saying something funny, and i have been seen to wip out a notebook after i've stopped rolling on the floor with laughter. It's great to have a comedy muse like her. A fantasy writer? David Eddings without a doubt, and then Katherine Kerr, who helped with ideas of reincarnation. Dark thoughts? I always wear a hat when im writing from an evil point of view, my evil folks always seem to end up always wearing hats.... (dont ask why, i dont know either)

Like Sam i listen to a lot of music while i write, it keeps me focused and some lyrics help to give feelings to wooden characters.

I get most of my ideas while reading about writing. To get myself in the mood for writing, I listen to Evanescence's old album.

Oh, Jane Austen totally wins for romance. I like the formality, where there is at least the illusion of romantic guidelines.

All the great fantasy writers: Tolkein, Lewis, MacDonald, Clarke, LeGuin, Adams, Stroud, etc. Movies also inspire me a lot, even (sometimes especially) when they have absolutely nothing to do with what I'm writing about! Sometimes a fresh perspective is all I need to be inspired.

Let me tell you, I know all about the 6th grade teacher. English, if I never see anther piece of grammar again, it will be WAY too soon.

My fantasy muses are Tolkein, Chris Wooding (Christopher Paolini should have taken an originality class from him), C.S. Lewis, and Philip Pullman. But i'm inspired by just about anything; movies, music, T.V. shows, school, friends, etc. I get inspiration from the strangest places and always when I least expect it.
