"Don't you get it? we are being hunted. Of course we don't have to Be pirates . We will be hunted down and killed anyway. Even if we were not pirates staying In a pirate ship is breaking the law for elves. so we need the ship to escape and staying on this ship on the run makes us a kind of pirates" I shouted

The elf was shouting something at me, but I ignored him. Instead, I turned my attention to Tave, who was sitting off to one corner of the deck near the doors, resting her chin on her knees.

"You know this ship could never be a cruise ship," she said when I got closer.

"A merchant ship, then. I don't know," I said defiantly.

Tave shrugged. I pushed open the nearest door and went below decks. I found Tas there. He didn't look happy.

"You okay?"

He sighed.

"Yeah, I guess." He paused, then said quickly, "Actually, no."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Why does everyone have to be out for my blood?" He cried angrily. "The guards in Rorran, the pirates, the Empress, you, and now the elves!"

"The Empress? The fairy Empress of Gildur? Why in the name of the Great Lord Ethuin would she be after you??"

Tas's eyes got wide and his face became chalk white.

"I-I didn't say anything about the Empress!" he sputtered.

"Yes, you did. What's going on here?"

"None of your business," snapped Tas.

"Um, I think it'll become my business if the Empress' cronies come after you while you're sailing as my captian," I said fiercely. "What's going on? Tell me what happened."

Damn. Tas had been interupted before he could tell me what had happened. Oh well, we were now heading off to shore for a few drinks which was fine by me.

"Don't worry Zade," I said, coming up behind him and putting a hand on his shoulder. "If Tas doesn't make you a member of his crew then you won't be on record."

"Yeah, but he won't let me leave. He is too power-hungry to care about us. You should get out while you still have the chance."

"Sorry but I can't go until I find out what he... ahem, well that doesn't matter." I smiled and grabbed his arm, pulling him towards the bough of the ship. "Come on, together our magic can steer this thing to port in a few hours!"

"Come on then" I said "Get to your posts get this piece of wood moving!"
For the first time in my life i had friends and i was not going to lose them if we were pirates which we were then i would like it.
"Oist the flag. This is a free pirate the fist of its kind!"

My eyes flashed purple and suddenly there was a fierce wind blowing them towards shore. I grinned at Zade who was rallying the crew to steer the ship and set up the rigging.

He smiled back and then turned and kicked a pirate who was trying to creep off down below deck.

"Ah, it's good to have the old Zade back!"

"I want this ship the best that ever swam these oceans" I shouted.
If this ship would attack the elvish Armada this ship would be fit to fight.
They were close and i knew it. We would need to disappear for some time.

*Sputters* 'Scuse me? Power hungry!? No no no no, Tas is not power hungry. Lol. But, w/e.* *Oh, btw, the authors of DragonLance are Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman*


Tas glanced around the deserted cabin, then back to Allynne.

"I don't have to tell you anything." Tas snarled. He tired to get up but instead his knees buckled and he fell back against the wall again, groaning in pain.

Allynne, forgetting about the questioning, asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Tas said weakly, waving the girl away. "Go make sure the others aren't getting themselves into trouble.

"But-"

Tas shot the girl a look that she didnt think the carefree and fun loving fairy could have. She turned and hurried out onto the deck and Tas lay his head back warily.

*Oh, i wont be here the rest of today or tomorrow probably...so...yeah.*

"I don't have to tell you anything."

I took a step back, shocked that the usually easygoing fairy could be so firce all of the sudden. Tas started to rise form his seat, but suddenly fell back, groaning, his face pale with the pain.

"What's wrong?" I asked in alarm.

"Nothing," he said too quickly. "Go make sure the others aren't getting into trouble."

I hesitated, staring at Tas. He glared at me fiercely. I was seeing a side of Tas that I hadn't known existed. I left the room.

As I was hurrying out, I ran into one of the pirates. He looked terrified.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"We need the captian!" he said frantically. "We saw lights off the port stern! We think it's an enemy ship, and she's catching up faster than we could ever hope to go!"

He tried to push past me, but I stopped him.

"The captain isn't well and doesn't want to be disturbed," I told him. "I was told to make sure no one's getting into trouble."

The sailor gave me a strange look and led me onto the deck. He pointed. I peered into the darkness in the direction that the sailor had indicated. I could indeed see lights, as well as the dim outline of a large but swift ship with dark sails.

"What kind of ship is it?"

"Elvish, by her outline," someone said.

"It's the elves coming to kill us as pirates!" shouted Zade. "I didn't think they could get here so soon!"

"Prepare for battle!" shouted the pirate. Just then, Tas rushed up, looking almost as if nothing had happened.

"What's happening?"

The sailors gave him a quick summary of all that they had told me. Tas turned to me.

"How are you with a sword?"

"Okay," I replied, surprised, "But I'm better with a bow."

"Then get yourself one of each, now."

Right then, just as suddenly as it had disappeared, the sun came out and shined brightly like mid-morning. And in the mid-morning light, we could see the other ship clearly.

She was a thing of absolute beauty. Her sails, which had seemed black during the night, now glowed sky blue. Her bow and mast seemed to be made with solid gold.

"It's alright!" I shouted joyfully, "They're friends! Fly the flag of peace, or whatever it's called!"

"What are you talking about?" Zade shouted. "They've come to kill us!"

"It's the Gildor-Annwin! The ship of Great Lord Ethuin!" everyone looked at me like I was crazy. "It'll be okay! Trust me!"

Tas considered a moment.

"Raise the peace flag!"

"If they even think we are pirates then they would still not come in peace because pirates have used It as a trick but if you are taking the risk it is okay with me." I said.
I looked towards the ship and felt something strange, very strange.

wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Who's post are we going on? Mine, or logolosgal's? I'm confused...

We can go by yours, DM. I'll edit mine to match as soon as I get a chance. Again, sorry about that!

Ok, I've edited mine to agree with yours, DM. Again, sorry about the confusion! I usually check for new posts before I post my stuff, but I didn't that time, because my dad was needing the computer.

I stared out at the ship ahead of us but I couldn't get a decent look at the people on board, so, I decided to use Tas' little trick.

My eyes flashed purple and time stood still, I decided that while I was doing this I might as well have a look around our own ship. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Zade and Allynne were helping to raise the flag and that new boy Xian was sitting in a corner taking the oportunity to pick off a brand he had on his arm. Blood was pouring from the wound but he didn't seem to notice. I took a quick peek at the brand and grinned. So, Tas and I were not the only ones with a dubious past.

I then decided to do what I had originally planned and transported myself to the other ship. Nothing out of the ordinary. Quite a respectful looking ship actually, except the scene I found in the first mates cabin which was really quite distasteful...

Fine, the ship was clean... ish and I resumed my normal position before letting my eyes dull to their normal colour and time resumed as normal.

I glanced back at where Tas was stood ordering people around raised an eyebrow and then wandered over to see if I could help with anything.

I could smell magic, strong magic.
Well this must be the advantages of learning at school I thought.
I looked at the ship. It strangely reminded me about my homeland which almost never happens. I teleported my self to the crows nest (If that's what it is called I am not sure) shocking the man in it and looked around. Since I was a elf and I had a elvish spyglass I could see miles away. I looked at the ship and its crew. I almost toppled out of where I was when I looked at the ships crew.
"No" I whispered
I looked further that way. Another very unlucky sign. The flag of the elvish Armada. I teleported down in front of my friends.
"If we have to fight the ship that is approaching us i will not fight. If we are to peacefully board that ship i will come. If we are going to fight the armada two days away i will not participate in fighting, i will help to use the cannons or sabotage other ships." I said and walked away into my quarters
