Captured!

More water. Just what I had always wanted. I fought the urge to run in the oposite direction away from the small wooden boat, which I had noticed sported at least three holes.

Allynne had sat down next to the elf boy. Ah, well that is one good thing about all this I suppose. I took the seat next to Tas. He looked a little nervously. I flashed him a smile in order to distract him from my also flashing eyes. The boat suddenly dipped a little and a large amount of water splashed into the air and fell down on top of Tas.

"Argh! What the..." He looked at me. "You! Fine, I'll tell you what happened but," he glanced towards Allynne and Zade, "When we are alone."

Tas sat in the boat, arms folded and a baleful expression on his face. Tave had dumped nearly half the stupid ocean on top of him and now he was freezing. He clenched his teeth together and tucked his wings close to his body for warmth. He looked behind him to see the pirate ship looming close by.

"So what we should do is this...we tie the boat off the side of the ship, climb up, take em by surprise and kill em all!" Tas said.

"Um...strategy?" Tave asked.

"Well...surprise?"

"Who needs a bloody strategy lets just massacre" i said

Tas glanced over at the elf. "Erm.....ok." he said, shrugging his thin shoulders. Tas was not your average fairy. He was about as short as a dwarf and very little muscles at all. He did not need strength with his sly skills. His wings were usually kept folded on his back, seeing as he rarely used them. His small dagger was tucked into his belt and his numerous pouches were strapped all over his body.

They reached the pirate ship and tied the longboat to the side. Tas scrambled up to see if there was anyone on deck. All he saw were two guards and a vicious looking dog. He signaled for the others.

*Letting someone else take over here...*

"I will go first" i said and before anyone could stop me i ran forward and slit both the guards thoughts with a dagger.
The dog barked and i hid in the sky by levitating. Two men walked out and gasped at there dead shipmate. But before they could shout i levitated down and slit their throats too.
"The rest are for you guys" i said

*Bows dramatically* Well, don't i feel special? Thanks Fire!*

Tas hopped up on deck and ran to the cabin door. He threw it open, drew his dagger and disappeared inside. Muffled curses, a few small squeaks and a few original taunts could be heard emitting from the cabin and after a few moments of silence a bloody, tired, and bedraggled Tas stumbled out. He grinned at the others who were staring at him in amazement. How he had managed to take down every one of the pirates in a matter of seconds was startling and confusing.

Tas collapsed on the deck. Numerous wounds, none serious, covered his skin and he had a long slash down one cheek. He leaned himself up against the railing and sighed.

"Well, that was an adventure i won't soon be forgetting." he muttered. He took out a handkerchief with the initials P.M. on it. He whiped the blood from his face and glanced up to see Allynne standing over him.

"You OK?" she asked.

"Psh, i'm fine. Go find the captain, he wasn't in there. I'll catch up." he said, continuing to wipe the blood away.

Zade followed Allynne off in through another door. I waited until the sound of their footsteps had died away and then went over to Tas.

"That cut looks nasty." He watched me suspiciously. "Don't worry, I'll heal it for you." I crouched down beside him and touched his cheek.

"I thought you could do your magic without having to touch anything?"

"Normally, yes, but I am not so good at healing."

Tas looked worried for a second but my eyes flashed with energy before he could say anything and the scratch healed. "Thanks."

I ignored him for a second before commenting, "That was a nice time-stop you did there. It could have been a little smoother, I felt myself blink twice while time was supposedly still. You need to work on it a little."

"Do you think they..."

"Nah, I think it was very noble of you to save them from hearing that." I smiled and offered him my hand. He refused and pushed himself up with the rail.

"Yeah well..."

I interupted him, "Yeah well nothing, we are alone now. The others are at the other end of the ship. You can't really miss that elf. So, I think you have some explaining to do." I leaned against the rail. "I am all ears."

Back on the SS Rat Hole again, I thought. And with a wounded Tas.

"You OK?" I asked.

"I'm fine," Tas replied. "Go find the captain. He wasn't in there. I'll catch up."

I grabbed the short, curved sword off of one of the dead pirate's bodies and picked a door at random. All I knew was that it was neither the one behind which Tas had just massacared the majority ot the pirates, nor was it the one that led to the prison cells. To my displeasure, I heard Zade follow.

There was a short passageway with a few more doors.

"Why don't we split up?" I suggested, not really wanting to keep company with the elf.

"Fine by me," he said.

He walked thrugh the nearest door. I walked to the next one and opened it.

The room I had stepped into looked like a pantry of sorts. There were shelves and shelves piled with cheeses and crackers and dried fruits. I couldn't believe my eyes. Food!

Greedily I grabbed the nearest cheese and took a bite. I hadn't had a proper meal since before Rorran.

"Hey there! You can't eat now. Dinner was an hour ago!"

I jumped. I hadn't been aware that there was anyone in the room with me. Now I looked more closely I could see that there was a dwarf standing behind a berrel of pickles. He looked to be middle-aged, which for a dwarf meant around 120. His face was covered almost entirely by his brown, bushy hair, beard and eyebrows. He was clad entirely in chainmail. In one hand he held a war-axe and in the other was half a wheel of cheese. there was something oddly familiar about him...

"Jly?"

*Hey. Mind if I join?*

Name- Xian
Race- human through and through
Age- 27ish
Looks- Black hair, bright blue eyes, kind of pale, muscley from working on the ship

Xian saw the girl talking to Jly. He wondered who she was and what she was doing here. He was hiding behind two crates, he knew that the ship had been attacked but he needed to get off too.

He had been a stow-away on this ship for three months until they caught him and locked him up. He was only 16 when that happened.

Now was his chance to escape again. He stayed crouched down and crept slowly backwards.

Suddenly he tripped over something and fell flat on his back.

He grinned sheepishly as he looked up at the face of one of the attackers, an elf by the look of him.

"Heh heh, umm... I am with you..."

**I cant believe one ship has so much stowaways or whatever they are called.**

I grabbed the boy by his collar and walked outside where Tas was.
"Can i kill him?" I asked showing the boy to Tas
"Who are you?" Tas asked
I let the boy go.
"My names Xian" said the boy "I'm on your side"
"Let him go we've got nothing to loose. He cant escape because and you know it Zade" said Tas
I walked back inside and found the captain asleep.
"Knock knock cap'n" I said
"Who the ell are you" asked the captain getting out of his hammock and un sheathing his sword.
"Oh you don't remember me?" I asked angrily "Well will this make you remember"
I used my magic to make him freeze then i levitated him back outside.
"As our and this ships new captain you must kill the former captain without magic" I said and released the captain from my magical bond.
"Thanks Zade" said Tas
"Every living rat come out and watch the battle of the captains" I shouted load enough to be heard to the island.
Four old shipmates came out. I waited until the others came out.

Hi, bedhead! Nice to have you!

I stared at Jly, shocked.

"Jly, it's me, Allynne!"

"Allynne?" Recognition spread over the dwarf's face. "What are you doin' here? And stealin' my cheese, too!"

I grinned sheepishly. I had known Jly before the War. He was one of the few dwarves that had lived in Asenvarn at the time. I had assumed that Jly had been killed in the raid in which I was first taken as a slave. At least half the town was destroyed by Messin warriors. I was so happy just to see a familiar face.

"I'm sorry I was stealing your cheese. I havn't had a real meal in about three days."

"Three days?" the dwarf laughed. "Well, in that case, you're welcome to it. But how did you get here?"

I was about to launch into and explanation of my adventures since arriving in Rorran, when I heard a loud crash behind us. I turned to see a young man flat on his back. Suddenly Zade stepped in and grabbed him by the collar.

"I'm with you," the man sputtered.

"Who is that?" I asked Jly.

"Xian. I don't know him very well."

Zade dragged Xian out the door and back onto the main deck. We followed. The elf wanted to kill him, but Tas let him go. Then someone found the captain.

"Every living rat come out and watch the battle of the captains!" Zade shouted.

Oh, boy, I thought, this is going to be a long night.

NOTE: Um... I tend to think of dwarves as having Irish accents, which is why I wrote Jly's dialoge the way I did. So, nuttychooky, if that messes w/ your character, sorry!

i knew that this captain was very weak. I had already read his mind.
"Hey Tas don't worry this is a weak one" I said.
A captain was chosen by two things when dethroning a former captain. The captains supporters and the captains skill and courage. If Tas managed to kill this puny stick some called captain he would be gladly welcomed by the rats who were alive.
"Oi mate" I called to one of the cruemates who were alive
"What?" asked the man
"You see your dead mates? they were all killed by me and our captain. So listen carefully did you happen to meet a elvish ship?" I asked
"S.... sure they were all killed by us. Taken by surprise. We only left one to live. He is in the lowest cage" the man said
I transported myself to the lowest deck and then looked for anyone alive. There was one elf who was almost dead in one of the cells.

"Zade?" asked the elf
"Yes its me" I said recognizing the elf
"Y...You are not a free elf now Zade" said the elf
"What doa mean by that?" I asked
"This boat is a pirate ship Zade and now your captain is going to kill the former captain. You know what that means" said the elf smiling
Understanding flooded into my mind.
"Oh no" I said
"Oh yes and now stay here and wait until the bang" said the elf and grabbed his hand with a iron grip
"Let go you bloody rat!" I shouted
When the elf didn't let go of my hand i knew that this was it i would become a pirate.
"So be it" I said and shot the elf
I walked up the decks. A sound of a bang echoed through the floors of the ship.
I reached the deck and saw the captain on the ground dead. Tas was holding a smoking gun.
"Tas you did it" I said almost in tears
"Yeah i did" said Tas
"Yes you succeeded in becoming a pirate captain and making us pirates." I said

"I what?" shouted Tas astonished.
"Why the hell didn't anyone tell me? Not you Jly or you Xian" I shouted "Now we are pirates forever until our deaths. The elves are hunting us down and we don't even have a proper crew. Lets just die here now"
"What do you mean?" asked Xain
"The elves have a power to record all the the deaths of all the captains in the sea. Now that you killed the past captain of a pirate ship we are all pirates. The elves will never let us live whatever we do. Lets just live with it and become pirates of lets die here." I said and sat down.

I listened to the elf's speech, feeling rather confused.

"Let's just live with it and become pirates. Let's die here," he finished.

"Wait a minute," I said, stepping forward. "What are you talking about? If Tas is our captain, that means it's his ship, now, right? And if it's his ship, that means that he can do whatever he wants with it. He could turn it into a cruise ship if he wanted, I suppose. I don't see why we have to be pirates."

Tas gave me a strange look. "Thanks," he whispered. Then louder he said, "She's right. I don't see why we have to be pirates. I don't see why we have to stay on this ship for long at all. I'm only here because some random girl got kidnapped. I say we head for the nearest port, go ashore, have a few drinks and forget the whole thing."

With that, he walked quickly towards the door that lead below decks and disappeared through them.
