The Others

*jeez ash. 14 replies in like 12 hours!*

Rei

I sat in the Herskon bar in a dark corner, watching the other herskons. They all seemed harmless enough, but most of them were drunk. I sighed.

"Another glass for ya?" a waiter came up to me. I shook my head and flipped him a coin. He walked away, inspecting the coin.

The door opened, letting in a cold burst of wind. I looked up to see who it was. Some wolf and basilisk. I turned back to my almost empty glass. The two newcomers left only moments after entering.

I drained my glass and got up, preparing to leave. I fingered the black stone pendant as i walked out, shutting the door behind me. The sounds of the bar grew faint as i walked away.

I rounded a corner and saw three Herskons talking. Two were the wolf and basilisk i had seen in the bar. The other one seemed to be a bobcat. I walked past them, close enough to snitch a piece of their conversation.

"...then we'll help you find your real family." the wolf said, speaking to the near tears bobcat. I snorted quietly and walked on.

Kersko

I flipped around to the noise. "Who are you?" I asked, let my eyes flash with my inner wolf.

"Rei," the girl asked. "And what it be to you?"

"And why do wish to destroy this girls girls dreams of finding her Family?"

"There aren't many Herskons of the Narfa Family nowadays if you haven't noticed."

I eyed her black stone. "And there ain't that many of the Helasn Family either."

"I also hear there ain't many of the Fresco Family anymore. One died recently, in an alley."

"My brother, that's probably who it is."

Rei

I turned away again not wanting to get involved with anything. Plus, it was way past curfew, not that i minded it. I just didn't want to get arrested because i didnt have anything else to do tonight.

I started to walk away when the basilisk behind me called out, "Wait, where are you going?"

"I'm going back to my house, whats it to you?" i snarled, turning around again.

"Why not stick around with us?" the wolf asked.

"Ha, no thanks." i said, and turned around again.

*i hate writers block. *glares at writers block and pokes it with a pen**

"Is my Family realy that scarce?" Nellie asked.

"I'm sorry to say it, but yes," I answered. "That doesn't mean that there aren't others."

"How do you do that to your eyes?" Shara asked.

"I learned it from my brother."

"The one who died?"

I nodded. "All it does is show your anger."

"Well," Nellie asked on the ground, "can we find my Family?"

"Yes," Shara said, "but we're going have to go with the Herskon underground."

"Are you crazy," I yelled.

"You don't have to come, but if Nellie wants to find her Family, we're going to have to. Follow me." Shara slithered off into the darkness as a Basilisk. Nellie padded after her as a bobcat. I rolled my eyes, and followed them as a wolf.

Rei

I was just about to round another corner when i hear the basilisk say, "...but we're going have to go with the Herskon underground."

A that i turned around again, sighing.

"You are going underground? You'll never make it back to the surface alive." I said.

"What do you mean?" the wolf asked.

"I mean, there's a war going on down there."


*ahh! *runs away from writers block*

Kersko

"We can risk," Shara said, "besides people down there know me."

"Wait," I almost yelled, "there's a war going down there?" Shara nodded. "Why didn't you tell me? I don't want any part in a war."

"Trust me kid, this war ain't going to stay down there anymore," Rei said, "it will evenyually be brought to the surface and you'll be dragged in whether you like it or not."

"Wait, Kersko," Shara began, "what's your brother's name?"

"Leskon."

Shara and Rei both let out a gasp. "He was the leader of the Herskon resistence," Shara exclaimed. "How did he die?"

"He was shot, by humans."

"Well then I guess the Herskons need a new leader then. We got to find Leskon's generals. They'll decide."

*wait, do we have a date for this story? What's the timezone?*

*This is modern time, no medevil stuff, there can be swords and stuff but most people will choose guns.*

Sanon scowled as he got back into the city. Another uneventful five hours. He joined the night watch to shoot some Others, not to lose sleep.

He sighed and got to the police station to report, then left to get home, where his older sister would already be unconcious on the couch in front of some reality show or something. Nothing exciting would happen there either.

He wandered the road a little, watching the police catch an Other past curfew, and they'd stammer some pathetic excuse before being dragged to the staion in handcuffs or taking off running, only to be caught again. It was fun to watch, and he hoped someday to be doing it himself.

"...going underground? you'll..."

Sanon stopped and listened carefully, trying to hear what they were saying. He couldn't make out their entire conversation, but he heard a few Herskon Families, and his heart jumped. he crept a little closer to listen.

Kersko

I smelled a scent, an unfamiliar one, but I knew it was human. I turned to where the source was stronger. "Shut the hell up," whispered, "we're being watched, by a human."

"Where?" Shara asked. I indicated with my eyes. I turned and slowly walked over to the human in my wolf form.

Sanon

Sanon frowned as the voices got softer. Were they leaving? He stepped forward to see where they were heading.....

Suddenly something jumped on his back, and he was pinned to the ground. With a muffled cry, he started fumbling for the gun on his hip.

I picked up the gun in my mouth the human was fumbling for. I turned back to human and took the gun out of my mouth. "Looks like we got a spy." Shara and Rei walked over.

"What are you doing here human," Rei said forcefully, "this ain't a place where you can be at might."

"Speak for yourself," Sanon snarled. "It's a little past curfew for you freaks."

Kersko

"Don't ever call us freaks!" I yelled. I tossed Shara the gun. "We have to make sure he doesn't get that."

"How about I use us to get rid of this human," Shara said when she caught the gun, "it'll be simple and quick."

"No, she may be human, but we're not murders."

"Let me go, you damn Other," the human creid.

I hit him in the back of the head. "Shut the hell up!"
