Dragon Riders

"Who be you?" Reskid asked.

"What;s it matter to you?" asked the women.

"I be a Dragon Rider of the Skerfa area. We are the fastest fighters there be."

"Sure. My names Alania and my dragon's is Namarhie."

"I be Riskid and my dragon be Snolik."

"Your dragon appears to be sleeping," Snolik noted.

"Yes, he does that all the time," Alania said. She went to the her dragon and poked the dragon in the gut. "Come on wake up you oaf, we got company."

Namarhie slowly roused himself, she hated being rude to him, but always was around other people. She whispered a quick apology and returned to the others with Namarhie at her side.

"I wouldn't insult him, he's tempromental and has a cold."

"Dragons with colds are not good."

"Duh, thats why he was sleeping."

Jerisk laughed but got a nudge in the back by Jasper, "Be nice." Jasper hissed in her ear. "You act like such a child at times." Jerisk elbowed the dragon who just laughed.

"What is so funny?" Reskid asked looking at the two.

"Nothing, Jasper is just being a pain." Jerisk smiled. Jasper flapped her wings and perched on a branch. Jerisk quickly climbed up after her to tell her she was sorry, Jasper knew she was kidding she just wanted Jerisk to be 'humble'. She picked Jerisk up in her claw and held her so she wouldn't fall.

"Its about time you got to hang out with more humens, and elves." Jasper sighed, "What has it been six months?"

"Well my tree hut is in here," Riskid said. "But me and Snolik plan to move more north where it snows more often."

"We do not blend in good here," Snolik said. "We stick out like a broken wing."

"Now come on."

After travelling into the forest for a bout ten minutes they came upon a tree bigger than all the dragons present. "Well, is where I live. You're dragons can come up if they wish."

Snolik jumped up into the high branches and then a rope ladder fell down. "Come up."

Alania climbed up half way and Namarhie offered to fly her the rest of the way up, which was a good idea she kept stepping on her dress.

"You should have known that was going to happen," he scolded.

"I did, I just wanted to try."

"You tried and would've hurt yourself had you kept trying."

Alania rubbed his neck, "thats what you're for."

Riskid got to the top of the ladder and climbed over to find himself face to face with Snolik. "I don't like the looks of some of these people, Riskid," Snolik said urgently.

"Why is that?"

"It ain't mere coincidence that we found them all today. I trust Acro and Luna because we always fight with them, but the others, I'm not to sure of."

"Well, letting them come here might calm your fears." Then slowly and surely Eyan's head appeared. "Welcome to my home."

Namarhie was reluctant to let Alaina off, but if he didn't let her she would jump, and if she jumpped she would miss.

"Bewere," he whispered to her, "Snolik doesn't trust you, or any of the others except from Acro and Luna."

"Alright, go hunting or something you look like you're starving."

"I am, I won't be far." Alaina walked in past Eyan as Namarhie flew away.

"Where is your dragon going?" he asked.

"Hunting, he's hungry."

Appearance: pointed ears, more solid bone structure then full elves, but lacking the true grace.

Colour: Red with silver sheen
Is smaller then the average dragon.

Gytri peered through the trees. There was other riders, just ahead. Wondering what they were doing, she approached, Gytri silently flying overhead.

"This...is a home?" Eyan said, raising an eyebrow to Riskid.

"Of course. Why?"

"It just looks...a little well...not exactly 'home sweet home' ya know?"

"No, I don't know. If have an issue with it, you can leave."

"I'm not trying to make you mad, looks better then my place, I'll tell ya that."

"And where is your home?"

"I'll show you." She called Zarak and jumped on. She motioned for Riskid to jump on too. He just looked at her.

"Oh come on. I don't bite and neither does Zarak...well, unless your an enemy dragon, but I'm pretty sure your not." She smiled at him. "Come on." Riskid, reluctantly hopped on. Zarak flew out and up really high. He could sense Riskid tensing up. Eyan stood up and spread her arms.

"This, is my home." She said.

"What do you mean?" He asked, seeming to calm a bit.

"I mean, that the air, and the dirt, and the trees are my home." She sat back down as Zarak took them back.

"Kinda seems like nowhere to me." he muttered.

"Whenever I seem to have a home, it gets destroyed and I am attacked. It is too much to deal with, so I simply move around a lot."

"If you were attacked so much, how are you still alive. You must be an easy target. A young girl all alone." She turned and looked at him.

"There used to be 87 people in 'my homes'. I am the only one left. They killed the men first then the woman then the children. I found Zarak after everyone else had died. He had just hatched. He is all I have left and I can not risk his life."

"I'm sorry." He said as they landed and he hopped off.

"Meh. I'm too much of a loner to have family anyways." She said smiling.

Jerisk walked around the tree hut as Jasper rested. She had finally let Jerisk walk around after she knew a bit about hte others personality. Acro walked over and smiled,

"You finnally got down from your perch?" He asked, "I thought you never would."

"Jasper has a tendonsy not to let me aroudn people she doesn't know or trust. She thinks y'all are fine now. Plus I finnally got her to go to sleep." Jerisk said looking around. "Where are you from?"

"Same place as Reskid. The Skerfa area, just south of here. What about you?" Acro asked, sitting crossleged on the floor.

"Not around here." Jerisk said simply.

"Well, i figured that." Acro shrugged.

*i am having a lack of...hmm...see, there i go again. i cant think of anything to say.*

Alania sat down and crossed her legs, she felt very alone. She always did when Namarhie wasn't around, even if she was in some strange person's giant tree house with him and his friends. If they were his friends at all. Reskid came over and sat next to her.

"You don't seem like the type to be excited by a tree-hut." He said.

"I don't get excited about walls, I can't stand being in one place for too long."

"That explains your dragon, but not your outfitting, most dragon riders perfer trousers."

"I'm a lot different than most people, I prefer the company of dragons more than other beings like myself, and I used to live with VERY rich people."

"Well me and Snolik would like to live more in the north," Risjid said, "but this place will suit us fine for now."

"So how long have you know Acro?" Alaina asked.

"A long time, since we got our dragons. How did you come by Namarhie?"

"I'd ask him, its his name." She leaned back feeling a little more comfortable, "he's always had it."

"So you didn't pick his name?"

"Nope, and I didn't have him forever either. My parents didn't support dragons."

"Who are your parents?"

Alania paused, she didn't want to tell him who she was, and she didn't want to lie either. Giving up she sighed and told him, "my parents are the king and queen."
