"We see what goes where!" Alice said, "which means, we open the hood on this up."

She started looking around the old ship for the way to open the engine.

"How the hell do you open this thing?" she asked.

Bella came over and gave it a swift kick, instantly the engine came into view. "Oh," Bella said, "I guess that works?"

Bella grinned and began looking from engine to engine.

"So...this thing here looks really dirty. I think that means it needs changed, eh?"

"Sounds good to me," Alice agreed. "This one looks clean!" Alice yanked the piece out of the old engine, which was in surprisingly good shape, and Bella took it from her. Bella stood back as Alice yanked the old, dirty piece out of the newer ship, then moved forward to place the cleaner piece in the engine.

"There, that's a start!" Bella said happily. THe boys were staring at them.

"Are you two like the mechanics on your ship?"

Alice moved another peice, "no, our captian does it most of the time, but we all need to know the basics. I think this one should go here," she said.

"If you can count rebuilding a engine part of the basics," Bella commented.

"We know how to fix things."

"Or...we think we know," Bella added.

"And that's good enough," Alice said.

"Do you always finish each others thoughts?" Alice and Bella looked at each other and laughed.

"Yes."

"We."

"Do." They finished the last word in unison, enjoying the insane looks the boys were giving them.

"Now..." Bella looked at the engine. "We need oil. Oil and gas."

"Where are we going to get those?" They both looked up at the boys.

"We don't use things like that here," Mitch said.

"Never," Jordan said.

"Oh..." Alice said.

We're screwed,

so screwed.

We're not screwed, Bella argued mentally. Maybe there's some extra that we missed?

"Let's check the insides," Alice said, using Bella's idea aloud. Bella grinned, opening the door to the old ship and climbing inside to look around. Jordan climbed in after her.

"Can I help?" he asked enthusiastically.

"We're looking for oil and gas," she replied, not looking up at him for fear of not being able to look away. "Do you know what they look like?"

"Not really..."

"Liquid. Dark colored liquids in bottles. The bottles usually have the names on them, but not always." Jordan nodded and began moving things around. His hand brushed against Bella's arm. He was leaning toward her. "Stop it!" she snapped, not sure if he was being perverted or romantic. Either way, she was too paniced for anything like that.

Sighing, jordan turned back to the search.

Alice did her best to ignore Mitch, but he was WAY too obnoxious to ignore. He'd rest his hand on her back and let it "slip" down too far.

"Stop it," she said facing him.

"Stop what?"

"Stop touching me!"

Alice made a move to storm to the other side of the ship and slipped, falling back into his arms.

Bella gave up after a good ten minutes of Jordan randomly touching her, or moving to breath on her in an obnoxious way. She moved to get off the ship, but he stopped her.

"Why don't you like me?" he asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I've done everything I could possibly think of, but you don't seem to like me."

"No, it's just that I'm very paniced right now, and you're not making it easy to concentrate."

"You don't have to leave," he said, moving closer to her. Bella stepped back, into a wall. Dammit...

"I do. I friends on the ship."

"You could make friends here too!"

"What are you talking about."

"You can't leave."

"And why not?"

"No one ever leaves this planet. Most of the women here were shipwrecked, and we took them in. You've been added to the population."

"No...but..." Jordan leaned in and kissed my neck.

"I've chosen you, Bella. You're mine. You belong to me."

Alice struggled to get her feet beneath her and walked away, "where are you going?" Mitch demanded.

"to finish up fixing my ship!" she shot back.

"Not like you're going to need it or anything, you're not going anywhere."

Alice turned around and faced him, "shut up," she stompped on his foot and punched him in the shoulder blade.

"I've chosen you," he said after he stood up and she was off doing something with the engine, she did her best to ignore him. He didn't allow that. "You're mine now."

Alice stood up and wagged the screw-driver in his face, "I do not belong to you."

"I've stolen your heart."

"Its not yours, or mine. Its somebody elses..." Alice's thoughts drifted back to Scipio and the highwind. "So there's nothing there to steal."

"Maybe not your heart, but the physical you on the other hand..."

"Get bent," she said and threw the broken screwdriver at him.

His kiss stopped Bella in her tracks.

Why did it give her butterflies.

No! she snapped at herself. you have a job, and friends, and a boyfriend.
Angrilly, Bella stomped out of the ship.

"Alice!" she shouted, walking toward the other ship. Jordan trailed behind her warily.

Alice heard Bella shout and climbed up onto the window of the ship and looked over, "yes dear?"

*Sorry its so short, I've got no idea why she's coming to bug me!*

"Alice, what the hell is going on here?!"

"I know! I was just wondering the same thing!" Alice climbed out of the ship, standing in front of Bella. Mitch was behind her, giving Jordan a panicked look.

"Alice, apparently we belong to these guys now! BELONG?!" Bella glared at Mitch. "Shall we explain how we feel about being owned?" she was already rolling up her sleeves.

"Bella, dear, calm down." Alice said soothingly. "We simply must leave. They can't stop us obviously, so there's little to worry about."

"You have no gas," Mitch pointed out.

"Or oil," Jordan added.

I bet with a bit of time we could figure out how to make gas and oil from something else. Or a bit of magic, Bella said to Alice, using their mind bond.

I wonder if they have a library... Alice replied, a plan obviously forming.

What's your idea?

Can I punch them out first?

Sure.

Alice grinned and stepped up to Mitch, using the heel of her hand she thrust it towards his face and into his nose. He hit the ground and was unconcious. Alice turned to Jordan with a huge look of pride on her face. He started to back down.

Would you like to do it or should I?

Hm...You can.

Again Alice walked up to Jordan and knocked him out too.

"Five bucks says they have something in that ship over there," Alice said nodding towards another ship not too far away.

"Most likely, but hold on," Bella dragged Alice out of sight. "We can't look like us! Obviously the women here aren't very free, so," Bella began using her magic. After a few moments, their hair was boy-length (much shorter than usual), and their facial features had changed slightly. They were already wearing boy clothes, for the obvious reason of them being easier to move in.

"Okay, now can we go?" Alice urged, making to run.

"Yes, but stay inconspicious," Bella ordered.

Alice threw her arms out and grinned, "look who you're talking to!"

"Thats why I'm nervous," Bella said with faint humor.

Alice poked her shoulder, "speak for yourself."

"Inside I am."

"Whatever, can we go now?"

"Yes."

They took off running.
