"That Jay, Isn't the real Jay," Adam said. Everyone's jaws hit the floor.

"But what about all this trouble!?" yelled Bella.

"We are located in Sector 1408. It is a like the Bermuda Triangle of space. Things happen here. There is no scientific reason why but they do."

"But...." Alice looked at the limp body of Jay, "He sure loks real."

"He is...In a sense. Once we leave sector 1408 he will vanish. I have no doubt the real jay set the ship to go through here, hopeing it would kill us...or at least delay us."

"What do we do then?"

"We'll be clear in about 30 minutes. Everyone stay on the bridge. I'll locek all the elevators and close the bulkheads. Once we're clear I'll open it all up again." Adam clicked a few buttons. A loud clng echoed through the ship as the doors locked and the bulkheads sealed.

Everything started spinning and Alice had to sit down. How long had they been in the sector? Was everything that happened the day before just an illusion?

She felt a pair of solid arms supporting her and she realized that she had almost fainted. She leaned against him, not bothering to look up and see who it was. She didn't really care.

"Its just the affects of the sector, mixed with what has happened in the last few hours," Adam reassured whoever it was that was holding her.

She clung to the white shirt and drifted off to sleep.

Nutty woke up on the bridge, heather standing beside her. Lifting her head, she looked around the room. "Is the crisis over yet?"
Adam answered. "It will be in thirty minutes when we get out of here. This place makes... things happen."
Nutty sighed with relief. "So I'm not the only one who can see that thing in the corner?"
Everyone looked at were she was pointing. Everyone looked back at Nutty. "What thing?"
Nutty sat up. "That... big... thing!"
Looking at the confused faces, Nutty sighed. "Maybe it IS just me."
Heather shook her head. "I think you should go back to sleep. I think... you may have overtaxed yourself."
Nutty shrugged, and lay back, watching the thing that looked remarkably like a Darlek.

Alice dreamed, it had been so long since she'd dreamed about something good. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she was happy. Suddenly the dream turned dark, and a fimaliar voice came from behind her.

She swung her fist around with all her might, had he not caught it she was sure she would have knocked him silly. But she found herself staring into the fimaliar face that had so long haunted her nightmares.

Her waking body tensed, what about the psonic distuptors? Was he there or was she just dreaming about him? If he was there she'd get her chance to ask some questions.

"Why are you following us?"

"Because I have to stop you."

"From what?"

"From... from saving the future."

"Why?"

"Why do you expect me to confess it all to you?" His grip on her hand tightened, but she did not wince in pain.

"How did you get past the psonic disrupters?"

"Easy, I floated into your head, I am in here and whenever you close your eyes you will see me. I am going to make you commit sucide."

With a whirl the whole world around her faded away and she woke with a start.

"Alice?" Rick asked, "whats wrong?"

"Jay's in my head."

She let a few tears fall down her cheeks, she couldn't bring herself to tell them what he intended to do with her, first she'd have to figure that out herself.

"Are we out of the sector?" she asked, trying to change the subject.

"Yes," Adam answered, pushing a couple buttons to open up the rest of the ship. Bella immediately grabbed Alice's arm and pulled her into the first empty room she could find.

"We still need to talk," she said certainly.

"About what exactly?" ALice asked quietly.

"You," Bella began. "In case you've forgotten, I am your best friend, and I can literally read your emotions. Something is very wrong. You seem so distant lately. And what the hell happened with Jay being in your head just a few minutes ago?" She was ranting...again.

"Nothing," Alice answered quietly.

"Don't give me that bull; I can still read your face. What the hell happened; the truth please!"

"I don't really know what happened," she admited, hiding the lies as best she could. She felt like a child being forced to confess by her guardian. "All I know is I'm still tired, and hungry." Alice managed to get away from Bella, "and in case you've forgotten, I always try to be like this."

She walked down the hall to the kitchen.

The tiny orange dot was growing in size on the screen, Alereon. They had made it at last. There were no signs of oddities anywhee on the ship. Of course, the Crew was another story.

"We're here," Adam said," I'll get docking clearance." He wandered off to one of the com stations. It wasn't hard to get clearance. Th Highwind was pretty much permitted anywhere a YWS Galaxy building was.

"So," said Matt, "What are we doing here?"

"Making any last minute preperations before we go to the Outpost. It's quite a few light years from the edge of the YWS galaxy so I wanted to make sure we're good to go."

"Sounds like a plan."

The Highwind docked on the large metalic platform. The capitial city, Jerdera, was enourmous. It was a wonder it had grown so large with such a lack of water.

The desert outside the city walls spread the entire planet, leaving only a few settlements here and there.

"Matt and Rick, You're with me to fetch supplies. I should think we need to restock on medicine and food." Adam led the way to the ships exit, "Everyone else, Do what you want, but stay out of trouble."

It sounded like a bad omen the moment it escaped Adam's lips.

Alice munched on some sour cream and onion chips and double checked her purse. She had enough money to go looking for a Borders.

She laughed, a Borders on Alereon, but after all she's seen it would make sense. Swallowing a few more she bolted across the kitchen out of the Highwind.

She'd need to find something to keep her awake until she figured out what to do with Jay.

Scipio and Heather left the ship and stood outside staring across at the landscape.
"Wow, it's beautiful," Hether murmered.
"It sure is," Scipio replied, "We should travel more often."

"Speaking of travelling, I think we should stick with them for a while," Heather suggested.
"Yeah. They need all the help they can get and they're really friendly people," Scipio agreed.
"If a touch strange," Heather added with a little smile.

"Who's strange?" Alice asked as she left the ship.
"Uh..."
"Where are you headed?" Heather changed the subject.
"To find a borders," Alice replied.

Nutty sat up and bounded down the gangway, a grin plastered across her face. "I need supplies for my kit. It seems they run out rather quickly round here." She grinned at Alice, Scipio and Heather, all standing just outside the ship. "You guys coming? I need to do some shopping."

Alice grinned and chased after nutty. Turning back she becokoned for Scipio and Heather to follow.

"Come on guys!"

Her and nutty turned a corner and didn't see if they followed.

Bella grabbed her sword and shrunk it to the perfect size, sticking it in her shirt. AFter pulling on her darkest cloak, She turned herself invisible and slipped off the ship, making sure she wasn't followed. She had some things to take care of.

She walked down the crowded street quickly, sticking to the shadows, even though it was irrelevant. She turned the corner into a dark alley and ran smack into the person she was looking for.

"You're late." The person noted sternly as Bella became visible again.

"But I'm here, aren't I?" Bella snapped back, following the person through the nearest door and out of the streets.

Adam browsed the grocery store. It was nice and cool compared to the massive heat outside. Matt and rick had wandered towards the cooler sections leaving Adam to fend for himself.

There were many odd fruits on Alereon. All imports as vegitaion was near impossible to grow.

Cant wait to finish this up there was a sudden boom from farhter back in the store. crap

Scipio shrugged and together, he and Heather raced after Nutty and Alice.

"So where are we going first?" Alice asked.

"How about the magic shop?" Nutty replied. Alice nodded and the other two didn't seem to mind so they headed there first. The shop was filled with many strange artifacts, herbs, books and some rather curious weapons.

"What's this for?" Scipio wondered, picking up a rather large sword.

"Careful," The shopkeeper warned, "That's an antique. Very rare. It turns almost anything and anyone to dust."

"Oh. Been there, done that," Scipio replied, placing the weapon back down. Alice giggled at the expression on the shopkeeper's face.

"How much is this?" Nutty asked.

"Dude, can you stop doing that?" Rick muttered. "Everyone is staring, and not at the ceiling."
Mattster pulled his head out of the ice-filled freezer. "Fine!"

The duo wandered around the store. Mattster pulled Rick into an aisle suddenly.

"What is it, Matt??" Rick asked in a panicked voice.
"Look at these!" Matt grinned, grabbing bottles of Dr Pepper. "They don't make this where I come from!"
Rick sighed and continued looking for Adam.
