If that's the case, couldn't you just pick a name that's either gender?

Although, personally, I'd go for the girl...but that's probably because I came across this same problem, and decided why not make it another girl (she'd already had a daughter).

Or, because this is her first child (and you can't do what I did), maybe you could have twins--a boy and a girl!

Boy: they can still have outlandish names, but people aren't as likely to call them unrealistic. I don't know why.
