I opened my eyes, finally. The pain had some what subsided and I could move my fingers and toes again. I was in no condition to get up, but then again, I didn't plan to. It worried me that the pain was gone, but I was still as stiff as a board. I just lied there for a while listening to the sounds around me. I could hear some people talking, though I wasn't sure who. One of them sounded like Kev...where was I then?
My memory struggled to come back to me and was more worried than ever. I know I was somewhere that I didn't recognize, maybe a store? I used my peripheral vision to look around and saw a Costco lable on an upturned bottle of rootbeer. So...ohmahgod, what if I'd passed out and fallen in front of everyone? How embarrassing! I shook my legs trying to bring life into them without much result.
"Hel--!" my voice wheezed and I closed my eyes and managed a painful swallow. "Help! I can't move!" Someone ran to my side, just sitting there staring at me, smiling oddly. Keri. My memories flooded back. They weren't good.
