Key to my Heart

Jakson Turned around to see Minerva awake. He jerked his head towards her. "Lestat" understood the motion and turned. There was a moment of silence and it was driving Jakson crazy. He's not one to keep his mouth shut.

"You uh...passed out." He said even though that was sorta obvious.

"I can see that. What happened anyways?" She said, almost to quiet for the other two to hear.

"Well we brought you over to "Lestat's" place until you woke up. And we've been looking through books to see if there was anything useful in it to stop the werewolf." Jakson answered.

"So? Did ya find anything?"

"Well..."

"Nothing of any importance." "Lestat" chimed in. "Well, at least nothing that will help."

Minerva walked over to the shelf and spotted a small book. It looked like it was covered in leather that looked ancient and had green stones on the side.

"What about this one?" She asked, handing it over to "Lestat".

"Ah! I forgot about this one." He said and opened it up.

"My name is Scarlet. What is your name?" replied the girl as she looked down at Shorti.

"Shorti, and its a pleasure to meet you," replied Shorti as he held his hand out to shake.

Scarlet shook his hand and said, "So what are you going to do now that you have bumped into me?"

"WHAT!?" said Shorti completely surprised.

"You bumped into me. I think you should buy me something or do something to make up for it," she responded with a smile.

"Fine, what do you want?" replied Shorti with a sigh.

"How about a movie?"

"Oh come on, thats not sheap."

"Well maybe you shouldn't have bumped into me."

"Fine, what movie?"

Scarlet decided to see the movie 300 adn after the movie was out she made Shorti walk with her. She led him into an alley.

"Why are we here?" asked Shorti cautiously looking around because it is dark out.

"Have you heard of vampires?"

"Yeah, stuff of myth."

"Not exactly," said Scarlet as she smiled and showed her vampire fangs.

Shorti gvrabbed his hammer off his back and readied to defend himself. Scarlet suddenly rushed at Shorti. Shorti got knocked off balance and his hammer got knocked out of his hands. Scarlet tried to go for his throat, but Shorti figured that if he is undead that a healiing spell would work. He used his most powerful healing spell on her, and she shriveled up like a prune.

"Whew. I'm going to need to find some help eradicating these vermin," thought Shorti.

Ethan had seen the whole thing. He was enraged by this murder of his own kind. He was gonna rip the Dwarf apart!

"Yo Midget! What the hell was that for?" He yelled down the alley. His fangs were retracted and he was, strangely, smiling.

"She was going to attack me. No need for another fight." Shorti was tired and really didn't want any trouble. I'll just hunt him down and kill him later.

"What's your name?" Ethan said only a few feet from Shorti now.

"It is Shorti. And you?"

Ethan immediately burst into laughter. His was tearing because he was laughing so hard. Shorti, on the other hand was enraged. He hated being laughed at, especially by such filth. Ethan straightened up and had the biggest grin on his face.

"Aw man. That's rich. Well, if you must know, My name is Ethan." He said sticking his chest out.

"I wouldn't be so giddy if I were you."
God! I wish I had a stake to stick in that bastard's chest. He's just holding it out there. ,Shorti thought to himself.

"And why not? I'm much more powerful then a little thing like you."
Big Mistake!

"Is this what you think?"

"I don't think it. I know it!"

"Well then why don't you show me."

He just needed Ethan to attack and Shorti could kill him and go home. And that's just what he did but Shorti hadn't realized it. He came up and grabbed Shorti, throwing him against the wall into a bunch of trash cans. Shorti staggered up. He was really pissed off now!


Just so you know, Ethan ain't important. You can kill him, I just thought I'd put something so there wasn't any long wait.

Minerva flipped through the small book, it contained ways to kill werewolves. They were demented ways too. Every now and then Minerva would have to skip a page that looked too intense for her.

"Maybe we don't have to kill him, we could just find a way to make him stop."

"How do you suppose we do that?" Thanos said condesendingly.

"I-I- I don't know. We'll think of something."

Thanos raised one eyebrow mockingly, "you're frightened aren't you?"

"Well of course I'm scared! Who wouldn't be?"

"I wouldn't be," Thanos said simply.

"But that's different! You're immortal!"

Jakson walked over and put his arm around Minerva. "We've got to try something, we could try talking to him. Who knows maybe it would work."

"You're crazy!" She said pulling his arm off. "Do you want to get us killed?!"
Jakson was totally shocked. He was trying to be comforting and he got yelled at?

"Well...I just figured that since werewolves have to kill and eat...that maybe we could talk to him and see if he'll hunt in another part." He said with a odd desperation in his eyes. Minerva couldn't say no. This idea seemed actually good.

"OK. But you got to promise that you and Thanos will protect me." She said. Jakson gave her a big hug.

"If I wasn't going to protect you, I wouldn't have saved you the other night. Look at me." He turned her so she was looking right into his eyes. "I'll protect you with my life." And she could tell he meant it. She smiled.

"OK. Well I know where the Were hangs out so just follow me, you two." Thanos said and walked out the door.

"Hey Minerva, Do you think I can call you Miv? If you don't want me too it's ok...but....I just thought it'd be a cute nick-name." Jakson said to her smiling and they walked down after Thanos.

They followed Thanos quickly. This is a stupid idea. But I guess I have to humour them for a while. He traced the small silver blade that was on the inside of his robe.

"Oh no," said Minerva, "that iron gate is blocking our way." Thaos simply raised a hand allowing the bars to contort and bend away allowing them to pass. Once through it returned to it's oringal shape. "How did you...?"

"We have little time for this. I sense death. The wolf may hav already attacked. Come, faster" Thanos ran down the long sewer way. It stunk of unpleasentness but soon they reaced a ladder to the surface.

They climbed it to the top and onto the empty street. It was dark but the police were still around. They slpiied into a dark alley while Thanos swept the minds of the police.

"It's him. They're Hearts have been eaten meaning the wolf attacked them." The fire escape ladder slowoly dropped down and thanoes started to climb. "Come one, I need to get higher to track the wolf."

As Shorti staggered back up after getting thrown against the wall, Ethan rushed at him. Shorti ducked(not that he really needed to) and punched Ethan in his bulging out chest. He rolled(lmao) to his hammer and smashed it onto Ethan. However, Ethan rolled off to the side and out of the way. Shorti readied his hammer and Ethan showed his fangs to Shorti.

"Damn, I hate vampire," said Shorti.

Ethan rushed at him, and Shorti put a shell around him. Ethan bounced off the shell, and his skin began to sizzle.

"Ahh, i hate your magic," said Ethan.

Shorti rushed at Ethan and smashed his head in. His body twitched like he was having a ceisure. It finally stopped moving and Shorti lifted up his hammer. He then walked out of the alley way and thought to himself, "I need some help to fight these...things. Any of them: werewolf, vampire, imp, demon, whatever."

Jakson gve Minerva a boost and she scurried up the fire excape. She kept her eyes on the stairs. If she looked down she'd lose it, if she looked up she'd lose it. Damn fear of heights.

"Keep it together Miv," Jack tried to comfort her.

"I hate heights," she responded.

"We're almost there."

"Thank God." Thanos climbed up over the wall and helpped Minerva and Jakson over.

"Told ya," Jakson said to Minerva.

"SHhhh!" Thanos shushed them. He closed his eyes and focused. "There's someone close, a vamp- no a dead vampire and a dwarf. The dwarf wants to help us. I'll summon him." Suddenly in front of them stood what looked like a dungeon and dragons fanatic, who wasn't the least bit surprised to be there.

"The name's Shorti," he stuck his hand out to shake Jakson's.

"Jakson," Jakson replied, shaking his hand. Shorti turned to Minerva and his eyes widened.

"You, there is something strange about you."

"What might that be?"

"I can't put my finger on it."

"Then let's not worry about it now," Jack said.
