I'm curious right now to what everyone thinks about the speed of this temporary board. It's hosted by the same hosting provider that will host http://www.youngwriterssociety.com so the speed will be the same. So is it loading faster? About the same? Worse?

Oh, one more thing...

Right now, if you type in http://www.youngwriterssociety.com into your browser, you will be brought to this site. However, either today or sometime tomorrow, the usual site address will be completely down for a few hours and so typing http://www.youngwriterssociety.com will take you nowhere. However, during that entire time, this temporary board will still be up and running. The address for this temporary board is:

I am going to try to set up so that it is yws.nathancaldwell.net, like it used to be, but I'm having trouble setting up domains on this account for some reason.

This is a temporary forum so blogs, along with many other features, are currently unavailable.


Anyways... I finally got the subdomain set up for this site. Instead of typing all that mumbo-jumbo, just typing http://yws.nathancaldwell.net will bring you to this site.

Just to give you all an update on where we are...

Currently, the normal site (i.e., www.youngwriterssociety.com) is in the process of being transferred to the new domain registrar. That process should be completed soon, and as soon as it is, I'll finally be able to change the nameservers to the new hosting provider.

What does that mean? First of all, a domain registrar is just a company that registers your domain for you. Nameservers are your domain's servers; that is, where all the information for your domain is located. In our case, the nameservers is where the data for the forum is located.

I'm hoping that all this will be over and done with by tomorrow at the latest (transferring domains usually takes three days), and then the site will be back up a few hours after that.
