Bonsoir,

So, yes, I'm going to start one of these. There isn't much to say, as I'm waiting on responses from agents/publishers. So far I've submitted Chionophobia and related documents to:

HAWK Publishing Group
Ethan Ellenberg Literary Agency
Nelson Literary Agency
David Maass Literary Agency
Charles Tolbert, LLC
Folio Literary Agency - L.K. Becker

and am eagerly awaiting the first wave of rejection letters. Should be within the next two to three weeks. I'll keep you chaps posted.

À la prochaine.

Good luck getting published. (Although you might want to take what you've posted here down and hope they don't find it: publishers usually want exclusive rights to works they print, and if you've put it online, it can count as prepublishing.)

Luckily, what I've posted here has been first-draft material, and much of it was hacked and rearranged before submission. Until I hear back, I'll leave it up, but no doubt, the instant I get positive feedback, it comes down. ^_^

M'kay, just checking.
Very good luck to you.

(Remember, if C. Paolini can get published, anyone can! )

Are you still going to post new Chs? I think I would go nuts if the last one you posted was #47.

Some feedback already. Here are the replies:

Dear Author:

Thank you so much for sending the Nelson Literary Agency your query.

We’d like to apologize in advance for the impersonal nature of this standard rejection letter. Rest assured that we do read every query letter carefully and, unfortunately, this project is not right for us.

Because this business is so subjective and opinions vary widely, we recommend that you pursue other agents. After all, it just takes one "yes" to find the right match.

Good luck with all your publishing endeavors.

Sincerely,

Kristin Nelson

Sara Megibow

Then the better news!

Hi, Bradley,

Thank you for your query. I'd love to take a look at your manuscript. Please send me the first 50 pages (or so) via traditional mail. Include your original query letter. If you've got a synopsis, include that, too. (If you don't have one written, I'll survive.) Please write "requested material" on the envelope. Remember the SASE so I can respond.

Thanks for thinking of me!

I'm excited. Even though there's still like a 90% Ms. Becker will turn me down, I'm excited. So shut up. XD

Foliolit was one of the three agencies I was really hoping to get positive feedback from! The other two are Ethan Ellenberg and David Maass.

Today is a good day.

*dances for you* See, haven't I been telling you this whole entire time you are going to get published? You rock.

You'll certainly get published. I wish you luck with the agent who accepted you, and with the others who have yet to reply.

I'm waving flags and rah-rah-rahing for you.
