I have memories connected to the name James, but I've always liked the name. It sounds strong. I imagine a blond, tough kid? The last name sounds pretty cool too.

“It's necessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live.” ― Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo
The first thing that comes to mind is Rozen Maiden, but I'm guessing they're not related. I'm thinking maybe he's a real romantic, a little out of time and place. He wears suits and white shirts and brings people roses and stands whenever a woman excuses herself from the table, holds doors open for people, reads poetry in the park, stuff like that. He's a little strange, but a real gentleman. He loves small animals and has a weakness for s'mores, for no apparent reason.
An adventurous person. Willing to do near anything---worldly, fast learner of languages, and willing to try anything. Has lots of wanderlust and unwilling to settle down.

because memory moves in orbits of absence, because she holds her hands out in the rain, and rain remembers nothing, not even how it became itself. - Las Ruinas del Corazon, Eric Gamalinda
I picture a little girl from Korea. Her name is actually pronounced with an accent, but she insists that people call her Hana, pronounced the same as Hannah, to help her feel more American. She was adopted when she was five, although she's adjusted very well. She speaks fluent English and Korean and likes to watch cartoons on Saturday morning.
Hey, AWritersFantasy, you didn't comment on Meep's character! Never mind, I'll do both.
Mitchell Ellison: Fairly youngish man, maybe twenty three or so, with messy, dark hair and dark eyes. Plays baseball, and is quite sporty.
Santavannah Pantelas: Exotic-looking woman, with smoky beauty, darkly outlined eyes, long, dark, wavy hair and brownish skin. She has an exciting past, with possibly a dirty little secret; she is ruthless and ambitious.
Lorlan. Female; accent on the 'o'.
"TV makes sense. It has logic, structure, rules, and likeable leading men. In life, we have this. We have you." -Abed Nadir
Bah, sorry. My bad. x.x I'm bad at coming up with answers for these things. >.> I'll try again (for yours or someone elses or...something) in a bit I guess. o.O
At first it looked impossible to pronounce, but I tried. Like Dai-meer? Or Dai-mer? A male, in a fantasy story. He's young, and thinks he's nothing special until one day he discovers his terrible power. Strong, farm boy appearance, only with really, really dark eyes.

Nick is Greek for "Victory of People", so I can imagine that your character is strong, and a fighter.
Also, he does not have a last name, which could mean he's insignificant. Either, he isn't a main character, or his society doesn't give last names to children. In their lifetime, they must earn it, by doing a great deed.

Ciaran reminds me of Ciara, so I picture a lanky African.
But, she's afraid of her femininity, because the "n" on the end seems more of a boy's name. Her parents wanted a boy, but they had her instead. Now, she's trying to make them proud, by acting like one.

Likes to cook and grows her own herb garden. Is usually found either immersed in books [recipe books and otherwise] or barefoot tending to her herbs. Described by others as reminiscent of Julia Child.
