((Hmm *strokes chin and looks thoughtful* I'm pretty tempted to join this, if it's not too late ^^ Though I'd have to get used to character sharing, I've only ever RPed with my own ><"))
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)
((Okie dokie, I think I have a character that might fit in quite well on the 'good' team, so I'll see what I can come up with over the weekend and post on Monday when I have the internet.))

"You know, I wanted to stake out this place before we came. Alex didn't let me." Leaf scowled darkly at Alex.
"You've got your mind on food, dear, so just..." Aethel didn't finish at the expression on Leaf's face.
"I feel more confidant about this kind of thing if I've staked it out." nobody was listening. Leaf turned to the window and scowled out.
After a dark silence that lasted for a few minutes, Leaf asked,
"Can I ride on top of the carriage?"
"Why?" asked Cassie, looking at Leaf curiously.
"Because it'll be easier to fight those goonies when I have room to nock an arrow, that's why." Leaf pointed with a gloved finger at some dark shapes weaving throughout the trees, following the carriage.
"Why didn't you point this out sooner?" demanded Alex, whipping out a gun.
"Because you were too busy telling me that we couldn't stop." Leaf was busy securing some bracers and shin guards made of some strange looking material, then taking out several throwing daggers and putting one between her teeth.
"I'll go out first and get as many as I can with daggers. Don't shoot until I say." Leaf slipped out the door and crawled up the side of the carriage, taking aim at some of the creatures.
"Ready...steady..." the creature's eyes glowed eerily in the darkness, glaring directly at her. Perfect targets for her aim- a dagger between the eyes. Leaf let loose a torrent of daggers, hitting several of the beasts squarely in the forehead. Drawing a arrow in the blink of an eye and nocking it, she called,
"Guys! OUT!" the creatures were closing around the carriage, scaring the horse. Cassie jumped out and began to fire at random, Aethel and Alex getting out at the other side. Leaf shot several of the goons, but there were too many to fight effectively with bow and arrow. She pulled two stilettos out of her sleeves and jumped down.
After several minutes of reckless shooting, Alex climbed back into the carriage for a short moment of refuge to reload her pistol. No sooner had she retrieved a small sack of gunpowder from a hidden pocket in her skirt then the door at the opposite side of the carriage burst open. There was a flash of pale skin and crimson eyes burning like coals, then Alex felt the creature crash into her with a force that knocked her senseless, and she landed hard on the packed earth that served as a road. She lay motionless for a moment, waiting for her breath to return and the scene around her to stop spinning. She winced as she stood as pain shot up her leg, and spat blood and dirt out of her mouth. A shrill scream jolted her out of the daze, and she looked around frantically for her pistol, but it was no where to be found.
"Damn!" Alex cursed, pulling a curved daggar from it's hiding place inside her boot. The creature that had tackled her must have taken it. At least it hadn't given her time to reload it.
An idea struck her, and she climbed onto the roof of the carriage with the handle of the daggar helf firmly between her teeth, using the broken door as a foothold. She lay flat on the roof, making herself as invisible as possible until one of the creatures stepped beside the carriage, close enough for her to hear it's ragged breath. As quietly as possible, Alex raised herself to a crouch. With her daggar held high in her left hand, she leaped from the carriage onto the creature, stabbing viciously at it's head and torso. They landed in a struggling heap on the ground, metal striking flesh, until the body went limp above her.
Alex threw the creature's body off her with a shudder, and looked around to see if the others were hurt. Aethel, Cassie, and Leaf were unharmed, but looked just as bewildered as she was.
"How the hell did they know we were coming?" Aethel said breathlessly.
Cassie scowled, "And they all escaped but that one! Now we'll have to go on another wild goose chase looking for them."
Alex cautiously nugded the creature she had killed with the tip of her boot, "And what exactly are 'they'?"
I think you should post next blackwings_angel, because you know what these "things" look like, and that's why I stopped.

I'll be gone for a while as well. I'm taking a two week trip to Peru with a few kids from my school. I may have time to post here again before I leave, but don't count on it. Wish me luck! (i'm going to need it being the only girl)

(Good luck, and sorry I haven't posted in so long!)
Cassie swore, looking for her pistol, and pulling knives out of various holes in the carriage, trees, and road. The things were just so darn fast. The others were grouped around the thing Alex had killed, so Cassie, wrenching her favorite knife out of a rock, which, on closer inspection, revealed itself to be a stump covered in dust, joined them. Together, they rolled it over to get a better look.
"You know," Leaf began, but broke off, deep in thought.
"It reminds me of a werewolf," Aethel said, and Leaf nodded silently, slowly, thinking.
"Not enough fur. Maybe it was in the middle of a change," Alex suggested.
"No. It's different. Look at the eyes," Cassie told them, using the tip of a dagger to open an eyelid. The four women shuddered at the sight of those lifeless red pupils.
"It's something else, something we've never seen before. Not a werewolf. Some new demon." Leaf wondered what it could be. The wind blew, the tree branches above them shifted, and sunlight pierced through, shining on the eye of the creature.
"Something straight from the deepest pit of Hell," Cassie realized, as she watched the pupils dilate, fire seeming to burn in the endless red depths.
"Are we sure it's dead?" Leaf wondered.

Lunor swore softly under his newly deep voice. They'd lost Sherlock. Now they had to waste a whole night to get a new soul to become one of Lucifer's bounty hunters. A new Hound of hell. They were a tight knit group, especially since they were the only ones of their kind. They were hell's superior race of demons, and Lucifer's favorites. They resembled werewolves, but were more wolf than human. They were better designed than werewolves. They still felt like humans when they were in their demon form, and have complete memory of what had happened that night. They had no weakness, unlike the werewolves who died in contact with silver. Lunor rubbed his lumbar. The girl had good aim. Unfortunetly for her, he wasn't a werewolf, and had no tail, so she only scraped his body. She had also penetrated his right arm. His dark brown fur was wet from his black blood and was a little sore. That girl with the knives was fast. He sucked on the wound momentarily, the blood evaporating, and leaving a thin layer of carbon on his arm. He shook it off and took a look at his grey skin. No scar, and no marks, another benefit of being born in Hell.
"Let's go back. I have a feeling he's not dead." Arial said. Her eyes were smoking, the equvilant of human tears. She had always liked Sherlock.
"No, we keep going. Lucifer will be very angry if we come back without a new Hound or a soul. I don't feel like burning in one of his pits because you love Sherlock. He's dead, and we better hurry up unless we want to join him." He brushed past Arial, his Dark brown fur overpowering her orange. "Understand?" She growled visciously at him, the smoke stopping. "Let's get going then." The remaining three dove into the ground and started digging their way towards the last destination on the map, for another soul.
{This is prpbaly really confusing. I'm really rushing right now because i'm still grounded and shouldn't be here but you get the idea. I had to post.}

join my Storybook, now would be a great time for a new character to come in.
As if to answer her own question, Leaf pulled a small vial out of her pocket and dribbled some of the contents onto the being. It appeared to be acid, for the second it hit the being's skin, it began to smoke and eat away at the flesh.
"What is that?" asked Cassie, eying the phial.
"Holy water." breathed Leaf, pouring a little more onto it. "When I found we were in a giant pentacle, I thought it would be best to have some on hand."
"Not nearly enough to get rid of all these ghoulies, though." said Aethel, looking around.
"Never mind." Leaf took a special dagger out of her boot and stuck in squarely into the creature's chest. It let out a sort of moan, and the flesh faded away, leaving only red bones in their wake.
"Sheesh, Leaf, what don't you have on hand?" asked Alex disbelievingly as Leaf proceeded to stick it into the other carcasses.
Leaf shrugged.
"There's this old theory that if there's A, there must also be B, and if there's a B, there must be a C. In this case, the formula would be A, pentacle, B, demon involvement, C, is werewolvian influence."
"What's the rest of the formula, then?" asked Cassie, nudging aside a set of bones.
Leaf looked up.
"I don't know."
"And what happens when you reach Z?" asked Alex, examining another bone.
"Well, it would only be logical to start over," said Aethel.
"There's also a phrase," said Leaf, stabbing the last carcass, "that fate favors the prepared."
"So that dagger is silver?" wondered Cassie, staring at it.
"Wrong." Leaf hit a invisible button, and two extra blades popped out of the big one, on either side. "These are pure silver. The main blade is blessed steel."
Sorry about that, folks, my mind was totally elsewhere
