Teenage superheroes

Nathan carried 'Gonzo' on his back. They had to get out of the library because they had seen several other ninjas somehow get in.
"Come on!" Mika shouted. Nathan was running as fast as he could. several ninja stars were thrown at him, one of them hitting the back of his leg.
"AH!" he dropped 'Gonzo'.
"Nathan!" Viamire looked back.
"Take...'Gonzo'." Nathan was beginning to feel weak. The star was tainted with the medication he used to put down his power.
"What about you?"
"Just...go." He fell face down. Viamire prayed Nathan would be okay and took off with 'Gonzo".

The ninjas walked up to Nathan.
"Hello Nathan. We've heard all about you."
"If I had my power right now.."
"Too bad you don't. Bring forth the cage." A large cage was put around Nathan. the Ninjas picked it up and walked off. Nathan was now a prisoner of war.

Viamire and Orion carried 'Gonzo' between them and Mika walked just in front. She turned around to see that the Ninjas had closed off the doors to the library. Now we have to rescue Nathan thought Mika we should never have left him behind...
'Mika watch out!' screamed Orion, as Mika tripped on something on the floor. Before Mika could stop her, Orion reached out and grabbed Mika's now bare wrist. Orion was thrown across the corridor as a bolt of electricity coursed through Mika's hand and through Orion's body. Orion slid to the floor motionless. Viamire lowered 'Gonzo' to the floor and ran forward, Shaking Orion.
'Oh no'
Mika slid down the wall, flash backs running through her mind.
Laughing with friends reaching out and...
'Mum why are you doing this to me? I am not insane! I didn't mean to hurt her but it was me, i electrocuted her!'
Don't worry love, the doctors at the asylum will help you.
'Mika, don't tarment yourself it wasn't your fault' 'Gonzo's voice rang through her mind and she tried to pull herself back to reality but...
'No please i didn't mean to'
'It's ok the doctors will make you feel better'
'Mika, that's in the past, you have left that behind you. I have been through the same thing, its ok'
'But Orion...' Mika replied to 'Gonzo'
'She is fine, just shaken up, come back, we need your help'
Mika opened her eyes and saw Viamire holding up Orion who was pale and shaking, but alive.
'Gonzo looked at Mika.
'I didn't know you could do that, thank you' Mika mumbled.
'Me neither, i have had help controlling my powers' replied 'Gonzo' her gaze distant.
'I am really sorry' Mika said to Orion, while getting to her feet.
'It's ok, i will be fine' she replied 'you didn't shock me to much.'
Viamire looked round suddenly and saw the shadow figure pounding on a door near by.
'I think we have found Coden'

"You have pulled on my last nerve." The ninja stood up, flinching from a sharp pain in the ribs. "Its time for someone to die. I hope you won't mind watching."

He let fly several daggers, pinning Coden up against the wall. He struggled furiously, but the knives were deeply imbedded. The ninja snapped his fingers, and two more appeared from the darkness, dragging a struggling covered figure between them.

An evil grin spread on the ninja's face.

"Remember your winged friend?" he said as he pulled the covers away. Meribelle stood between the pair, bound with chains and gagged with a thick black cloth. Her eyes widened at the sight of Coden, and muffled sounds came from her.

The ninja brushed her face, and she pulled away quickly. "Such a pretty young girl."

A blade appeared in his hand. "Such a waste."

It glinted in the fading lights haging over them.

you are evil... always remember that.

you can't hide yourself beneath your powers forever.

death isn't bad when you bring it upon someone who deserves it.

Everything he never believed flashed through his mind. Everything his parents said. He couldn't suppress it anymore. His eyes rolled back, and a darkness deeper than he ever imagined enveloped his mind. He fought it at first, but then a single thought ran through his mind.

It's for Meribelle... and everyone.

The next few seconds happened faster than anyone could comprehend. The daggers broke away from the wall, flying all over as Coden released his power. The classroom door broke from his hinges with a huge electrical blast. The knives and door smashed hard into the group of ninjas, and covering Meribelle as well.

Viamire, Orion and others came in, ready for anything. all they could see was a large figure floating in a mass of blackness, his eyes hollow and empty.

(Well, it looks like the other characters are putting up a pretty good fight on their own without Kage. That's the whole reason I got them to split up, so Viamire and the others could realize their own strengths. Pretty clever, eh? Also, I'm working on a Fanfiction called A New Fanfiction: Final Fantasy 8. If you've ever played FF8 then you're love the story I'm coming up with. The chapters are a little long I'll admit but it's worth the time to read. Just don't mind the prologue, I was out of practice when I wrote it. I really need some critics about my story.)


Meanwhile Kage limped down a far away hallway with help from his clones. He heard something like a crash from far away. He looked over his shoulder to where the sound came from. He started to contemplate whether or not it was a good idea to let them go off on their own. He especially worried about Viamire, whenever he's around her he feels something he had never felt around anyone else.

But, Kage can't let his emotions get in the way. He has to get to the infirmary and patch himself up, he's no use to anyone if his leg suddenly decides to snap off in the middle of battle. He was surprised to see it lasted even this long without breaking again. Whatever Cedric had but in that bandage really did the trick.

A group of ninja appeared in front of him. Kage stared at them as they spoke in Japanese. "So, we finally find the traitor."

Kage replied, "If you fight me, you will die."

"Ha! Your leg is broken, what hope do you have against the three of us?"

He was right. Kage couldn't fight in this condition. Even if he sends his clones into battle there are three enemies, one of them would slip by and attack him.

The enemy continued in English just to taunt him, "Face it, without your friends you are severely outnumbered."

"Guess again!" Kage looked over his shoulder to see Cedric running into battle.

'Gonzo' was horrified, whatever that thing was it was scarier than anything she had read anywhere, in anything. The others seemed almost as frightened as she was, and were just as lost as she was.

"What do we do?" She whispered into Mika's ear.

Mika stood petrified. What were they going to do? Coden had turned into what everyone had feared in power control class. It wasn't realy even Coden anymore.
'Gonzo, can you get into Codens mind? Help him like you did with me?' Mika wispered, her eyes never leaving Coden and the advancing Ninjas.
'I don't know. I could try'
'Try and stop him, Coden will still be in there somewhere. We will try...'
A shout arose from behind them and Viamire spun around.
'Kage!' she screamed.
Mika turned to see Kage near the group with three ninjas blocking his path.
'This is what we will do. You and 'Gonzo' stay here and me and Orion will go and help Kage' Viamire said, already walking away.
Mika nodded and turned to face the ninjas and Coden as Orion and Viamire ran to join Kage.
'Ready?' She asked 'Gonzo', turning to face the first ninja. She began to draw on the energy even as she waited for 'Gonzo's' answer.
Gonzo set her eyes on Coden and nodded briefly.
'Then let's see what these Ninjas are made of!'

(Sorry, my bad. That was a typo on my part. It was supposed to be Cedric, not Coden. Sorry about that, guys.)

'Gonzo' seeped into Coden's mind.

"Coden?"

Gonzo? Get out of my head!

"Calm down I think I can control it now. I know when I'm not. What are you doing?"

(Sorry if i screw this up! If i do i'll fix it)

I'm saving everyone

"How?"

I have a plan, not quite sure what it is yet but I've got the general idea. Slowly the huge black thing that he was formed back into Coden.

Meribelle thrashed and bit into her gag. Bleh! she thought, do ninjas ever wash these things? She recapped on what had happened, naive little Meribelle thought the nice black men were students coming to help her but nnnoooooooo. They just had to go back on their promise of shelter and cookies. Seriously, who knew ninjas looked like students?

Meribelle heard a rip and looked down. Oh look a hole! she smiled to herself. Spitting and gnawing some more Meribelle got her gag out. She coughed a little and noticed someone had cut the lights.

"Can someone turn the lights back on???!!" she yelled.

Coughing once more Meribelle felt something in her mouth. Wood? she pondered. Meribelle realized she was covered in rubble.

"Awwww my ink!" Meribelle said to herself when she felt wetness on her shoulder and stomach. Meribelle reached into her ink and commanded it to move the rubble. The little bit of ink left started after she heard a pop. Meribelles brow puckered as she wondered what the pop was from.

Soon Meribelle was free of the rubble but not of the chains.

"Oh inky? Could you slick the shackles please?"

The ink formed a head, nodded and got Meribelle out of the shackles. Meribelle stood and wiped off the dirt. She felt the wetness again but didn't notice.

"Coden!" she yelled. His dark eyes were someplace else. Meribelle ran up to him.

A girl nearby (Mika) put her arm in front of Meribelle, "Don't! 'Gonzo' is trying to talk to him." She looked at her sleeve and looked over Meribelle, "You're bleeding!" she exclaimed.

Meribelle didn't hear her, "Coden! What's wrong! What happened to him? Coden!!!" She kept yelling, not stopping to let anyone answer her frantic questions.

Slowly the big thing Coden turned into sunk into itself and turned back into Coden. Meribelle sighed with relief and sank to the floor. She thought something had eaten him or something. Meribelles sagged head spotted something. A gash across her stomach and right shoulder were bleeding.

"Ouch." Meribelle said and fell backwards ontp the ground.

Kai's feet pounded as he headed towards the explosion he heard. He finished in the hospital wing and successfully helped get a barricade in place. Turning Kai almost slipped on a layer of dust. He skidded a bit and turned into a mess. He saw two things at one. One was Coden fell to the floor and two Meribelle fell to the floor but she was covered in blood.

"Crap." Kai stated and ran over to her.

Coden found himself wandering alone in an endless grassy plain. Low hills rolled across the landscape, and let his vision go as far as possible. Low black rumbling clouds blotted out the sun. Where had he gone?

He had let the darkness take control. Yet now here he was, having every thought his own. He stepped through the thick grasses, not a real care in his mind.

"Lost?" Coden turned slightly to see another figure in his exact likeness. But an evil force seem to emanate from him. Coden pulled himself into a fighting stance.

"Who are you?"

The figure rolled his eyes. "I'm you, you idiot. I think you would have figured that."

Coden didn't remove himself from the stance. "Are you like my evil twin or something?"

The figure laughed. "Don't think that cynical. I am more like a part of your mind. You aren't awake right now."

Coden looked around him. "That explains a lot."

The other self grinned. "That it does. I am just here to explain something. It's simple. You don't have to give in to the darkness."

Coden's face scrunched up. "What has that got to do with anything?"

The self shook his head in frustration. "Listen. I am the darkness. I am the one you don't allow to control."

He held up his hands in defense when Coden began to come at him. "Before you attack me. Take a look at me. I am you. A little darker, creepier. But I am you. Either way, when you use your power, it is just another self taking control. You needn't worry. It is still you."

Coden pondered these words. "how can I trust you?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. If you can't trust yourself, you can't trust anyone else, can you? Besides, right now, you need to wake up."

"Huh?"

"Wake up." the voice began to alter.

"what do you mean?"

"Wake up!"

Coden eyes opened, and saw viamire above him, chanted wake up over and over again.

'Gonzo' stood up after having her knees buckle under her. Her head soon stopped spinning and she walked over to Meribelle. She looked at the cut on her gut.

"She'll make it as long as we get her to the infirmary like now!" she said.

"How do you know?" Coden asked as he lifted her up.

"I have read almost every book in existance to keep my mind focused on something."

Shut up now!
Go away! I can handle it now!
You'll always need me, as soon as you drop her off you need to find Nathan. This won't last for long!

"What happened to Nathan?" She asks out loud.

Mika looked at 'Gonzo'. Didn't she remember what had happened to Nathan? Or did she know something else that had happened to him.
'What do you mean? Nathan was captured by the Ninjas, don't you remember?' Mika asked 'Gonzo' turning to look at the others in the room. 'Gonzo didn't reply, but her gaze became distant, like it used to do before she started to control her powers.
Meribelle groaned and everyone rushed over and crouched by the unconscious form on the ground.
'I will Carry her to the infirmary' Coden said beginning to pick up the limp body of Maribelle.
'Wait' Mika asked, turning to 'Gonzo', 'would i be able to cauterize the cuts?'
'Gonzo looked thoughtful,'I suppose you could, but we should take her to the infirmary first. Even when you cauterize it, she will be unconscious for awhile.
'Thats decided then. We will go to the infirmary and then go and rescue Nathan' Viamire said, her arms supporting Kage.
Coden picked up Meribelle and headed towards the door.
'Let's go then'.

'Gonzo' didn't move, her eyes remained vacant, she had no clue what everyone else was doing.

Told you, Ishtar mocked.

Not without Nathan, how do you think you were able to control it earlier? You were in the same building.

But I would have been able to sense him!

((Just to let everyone know, Kais there she doesn't need to go to the infantry. It's blocked anyways, Kai helped the kids block it so they would be safe.Reread my last post. Oops that sounded a little mean and forceful didn't mean it that way if you took it like that ))

Kai stopped the people trying to carry Meribelle.

"No one move! Meribelle will bleed to death if we move her. Put her back down."

Coden stopped, "Well ok then." he looked cautiously at everybody, "Guys, Kai is a healer and has vision like x-ray and can see through stuff. He can make it so she doesn't bleed to death."

Kai added, "And I also helped the healed people in the infantry seal it up so the ninjas couldn't get in."

Coden sat down and held Meribelle flat, "I think this'll be better than the floor. And if she wakes up she'll listen to me."

Kai nodded. Slowly his purple-red eyes turned more red than purple and his tanned skin became pale. He focused his eyes so he could see the blood vessels. He place a glowing hand over her stomach and started knitting muscle, organs, and vessels back together. When everything was suitable he moved to the slash across her shoulder. Her knitted the skin back together but a light scar remained.

When he was done his eyes turned back to purple and his skin absorbed his tan color back. He gave an exasperated sigh and slumped back. Breathing quickly and rapidly he gave a weary smile and held his thumb up.

Coden shook Meribelle a little, "Meribelle? Meribelle?"

Kai managed to talk, "She'll be out for a few minutes even when she's back she probably won't be able to fly for an hour or so." Kai grinned, looked at the three conscious people beside himself and continued, "So fearless leaders, since Meribelles out for a while I'm turning to you. What do we do?"

"We've got to find Nathan," 'Gonzo' was getting frantic. Something was wrong with him, he wouldn't just abondon her! If he got mad all hell would break lose. Unless... no there was no unless, she had to get to Nathan before he lost control like her. Already she had to reserve herself a little bit. "Like now!" she added.

"Can you sense him?" Mika asked.

'Gonzo' shook her head, "if I focus too hard I'll kill him, and without focusing i can only tell when he's on this floor. He's not."

"What do we do then?" Vamire asked.

"Look for him."

"Do you have any idea how big the school is?"

'Gonzo' recited the surface area, the permiter of the grounds, the number of rooms, and the volume. "Like I said I read a lot."

"Okay then," Mika said, "where do we begin?"

"The top, we'll find him eventually."
