(5th period)
"My powers?" Viamire asked. "Well I can..." She stumbled for a moment thinking. She nodded, seeming to come to a conclusion. She started to dig around in her purse "Here, it'll be easier if I just show you..."
"Show me?" Kage asked, only the slightest be confused. Viamire gave a triumphant noise as she finally pulled out two black, round disks from her purse. Kage raised an eyebrow.
Viamire popped them both open to reveal what Kage took to be compact mirrors. She set down her purse safely and took a few paces away from the roof and set one of the mirrors down. Kage followed her with his eyes, not moving. She returned to his side and handed him the second compact, facing the away from him and towards herself.
"Hold it steady, please," she said.
"What am I doing?" Kage asked, suddenly a little worried. But only a little. He trusted Viamire knew what she was doing.
"Just don't drop it, okay?" She took a deep breath and stared at the mirror with great intensity. Just as Kage was about to question this, he noticed her eyes.
Viamire's sky blue eyes were slowly turning silver.
"Via-" Kage started, but at that moment, Viamire reached out and touched the mirror. Instead of pushing against his hold, her hand went right through the mirror. Kage's eyes widened.
She didn't stop with her hand. Slowly but surly Viamire managed to slip into the mirror. It was odd, Kage thought, because she should have been to big, but the mirror seemed to swallow her little by little, taking her in slowly. Soon she was completely engulfed. Kage turned the mirror around and saw a silver-eyed Viamire staring back at him.
"That," he told her, "Was so cool." Viamire grinned. And then she disappeared.
"Viamire?" Kage felt himself begin to panic, but didn't show it.
"Over here!" Her voice called from behind him. He turned to where the other mirror was set. From this angle he could clearly make out Viamire in the mirror's surface. He smiled.
"There you are," he chuckled, picking her up. "I was worried I'd done something wrong, like broken your mirror or something." She shook her head.
"That wouldn't have mattered," she informed him. "A broken mirror is still a mirror."
