Somewhere In Between

I'm guessing a coming-of-age/coming-out-of-the-closet story of a FTM transexual man. He has a hard time fitting in until he runs away to New York City, falls in love, etc. It's bittersweet at the beginning and ends on a happy note.

Playing God

(and about my last post: yes, a stag is a male deer. a white one specifically is a symbol of Christ; they were often shown being hunted in old tapestries.)

Something about a genetic scientist and a modified creation? Or someone who gains contol of a group of people on a tiny island, and plays god with thier lives.

Hm, I'm guessing ... steampunk robot/AI/what makes humans humans and robots robots kind of story. I'd read that.

The Summer Stella Learned to Drive

I'd guess a novel about a teenage girl going through some major changes one summer. Might read.

Hurt (inspired by the Johnny Cash song)

Maybe about bullying or suicide. I don't think I'd pick it up.


Industrial

First thing that pops into my head is Industrial Revolution, but thinking hareder, maybe about robots, or perhaps a poor family who must be--oh, wait that's industrious, never mind--I don't really think I'd pick it up unless it had some interesting cover art

Fortuneteller of the Traffic Lights
(By the way, I can't take full credit for the title listed above. Something my little sister babbled about at the end of a long journey home.... lol )

I say it has something to do with the energy crisis in the world (of course, that could just be because I'm a geek and that's the first thing I think of). Maybe it's kind of like An Unconvenient Truth where it explains to us the tragedy that will occur when we use up our energy sources completely.

I guess a story about some extraordinary people, most likely teens, who don't fit into the norm. Might read.

I'm not a fan of foreign titles, and so wouldn't pick it up. Usually I would probably think it was a French book anyway, and would probably prefer the English version of the title.

Pans and Pots and Ink Blots

It has an amusingly quirky sound, with its rhyme and odd assortment of things. I'd think of Diana Wynne Jones, off-the-wall and clever - for a short story, very good. Doubtless, I'd open it though, short or novel length. ^_^
