Sounds good to me! (After reading Dono's clarifications)

Yup. Glad you posted it, Dono.

By the way, the mention of the Wizard's Blade is associated with Henry's past, which is why he will go along with the group (when he finds out about it, he already heard a rumour about it's reappearence in the North, which is why he came along in the first place).

If no one has anything else planned for this night the party is camping, I'm going to go ahead and speed it up a little, so we're waking up, ready to go.
Got YWS? I do.

That's good.

Glad we can finally start going to Sedgeley ... is it only Valin and Seraph that know about the village so far?

Yeah, just Valin and Seraph. I figure we aren't too far from the place...wouldn't take us more than one day of good traveling.

Fand is making her Sedgeley post now.
Got YWS? I do.

Last call? What??

I don't think so. We shouldn't rush such a critical point in the storybook.

And, yeah, Grif, you're supposed to discuss big things like that here first.

Jig, I've deleted the Commander part. The idea was that Alden was senior military. He's a Sky Ranger though, so that makes him special all ready.

He doesn't need another title.

About what's going on now...

The idea is simple: Sedgeley's been attacked. The group could try to pursue a numerically superior force (which would be much smarter and stronger than the goblins) or we can develop the plot more.

The fort is the obvious destination for the group. They can get a rest there, combat training (for those that need it), supplies, and orders.

So here is the plot line I'm working on.

Valin is some elf dude that want's his throne back. The human King strikes a bargain with him: allow the settlers to stay, and we'll support your journey for the throne.

An army has been discretely mobilized to this end, wagons of "pioneers" have been pouring into the wild. They're mixed in with real pioneers so they're well protected.

The original mission of the group "Protect the settlers..." was an excuse to send them up there. In reality, the mission is to put Valin on the throne, thereby protecting the settlers.

By going to the fort, Alden and the others are briefed on the real mission, before being sent out again.

The general is all for sending an army into the elven lands, but Valin is naturally apprehensive. Killing elves isn't a way to make yourself popular, he wants to kill the bad elves and rally support for his cause.

The group, with the sole exception of Alden, are all mercenary in nature. None of them are affiliated with any regular forces (except Alden) and that makes them expendable.

The mission would be to accompany Valin into elven territory, where he would attempt to obtain elven support. The group is to protect Valin, provide intelligence, and take out targets of opportunity.

This would all be explained at the fort. Sticking around Sedgeley isn't a winning situation: it gets pretty darn cold, there's no accomadations, and the people are kind of dead.

Now, if it's important to stay in Sedgeley, (for character development) then we can stick around over night. I'll edit my post so that it is more flexible so that if any of you want to do this, you can.

Alden doesn't want to stay. The place creeps him out, he's obliged to obey orders, and staying at a fort is safer and better than camping in a utterly destroyed mountain town. It also better supplied.

So, he figures it is the most logical and reasonable place to go. So, he's trying to get people to go there.

Yeah, character development-age is the main reason for staying.

The main thing I dislike is being reduced to a bodyguard ... I mean Cyrus would do it, has done it before in fact, but for an Elf? Thats a big ask, dwarves dont mess with Elven affairs.... I'll see what I can do in terms of giving him a reason to tag along.
