World of Souls Part 2

Hello people!
I have fallen back into my forever project. So behold, yet another attempt to include the highly important Digimon Frontier movie (available in grainy quality on yt for the ppl enjoying English. And in good quality but broken down into 4 min chunks if you are into Japanese with Spanish subs...) into my rewrite =D
My first attempt from 2019 was a boring mess of 174k words that I wrote with no plan because Ryan told me it would be cool to include the movie. Thanks Ryan =.=
In any case, I was in the hospital when he suggested that to me and so had nothing better to do for the week I was there than to make sure this random movie with 0 connection to the Frontier plot would make sense for my story.
And now. It is. The Center Piece. Of all the lore.
Like, all the lore.
The story ceases to function if I don't do this plot line. Which wasn't even planned in the beginning.
Again: thanks Ryan *grumble grumble*

So, here's hoping I can walk away from that with less than 50k words. Hahaha.

Day 1
The plan is as simple as it is genious: We're finishing the edit of Chapter 19 of Part 1.
All I need to do is get a discussion about healing properties started, leading to the revelation about energy drain and then have the kids move back to the town.
That sounds doable!

I love that the shopping list is "have [potentially horrifying revelation depending on the context]" and then "THE KIDS ARE BACK IN TOWN!"

All jesting aside, I hope that you make good progress on your forever project! I fr know the feeling. Also. Ryan's unchanging contribution to the lore amuses me greatly

XD Feel free to interprete what you want here!

So what's the verdict for my first day?

I technically did finish the scene!
I just... had to rush toward the end and it will need more editing. I started out with JP being a meaner but since he delivers the final information, I need to show more clearly that he's putting the earlier thing behind him. Or maybe I need more time to show everyone's reaction to him making that comment, earlier. Hmmmm. That is something for tomorrow tho!

(Giving that the plan was getting a discussion started abt healing started, leading to energy drain and then them getting back to town, I spend all day on meander towards that first point! Srsly, the healing properties, I completely skipped and went straight to the energy drain-- in the last 20 minutes of April 1st!!!)

It’s important to have clearly defined goals. Otherwise how am I going to measure success? =D

Day 2
    1. Reread over yesterday’s edits and try not to despair.
      I. Fix if there are any glaring issues
II. Remember the not despairing part. It’s vital.
    2. Read the Zoe section of the epilogue
    3. Fix its food section. It takes so long to get going and is rather messy
    4. Finish editing that section

Progress Report
I kinda forgot how long the epilogue is. But I guess the goal was to "finish editing that section" and I certainly did that. ...The other section is a problem for Tikaa-after-sleep =D

So, all goals cleared, including the not-despairing part of which I am the proudest!

NO DESPAIRING!!!

Yes! No Despairing!!

Day 3

Goals:
    1. Reread over yesterday’s edits (the not despairing is a given)
    2. Finish editing the final Zoe section of Part 1
    3. Read the Mercurymon section
      I. See if there are any edits to be made
    4. Write down all the things I am excited about for Part 2
      I. Maybe start ordering them?
II. Figure out how to make the prologue of Part 2 …less long.( Aka write down what is actually important for this)

Progress Report:
Managed to fulfill pretty much 3 of 4 goals. Technically a list of all the cool parts of P2 already existed though and they are already in a rough order.
I could not figure out (yet) how to make the P2 Prologue shorter though. I think I just need to shorten the encounter with Fangmon considerably. Or maybe I need to do something about how the armies meet each other.

Day 4

Goals:
    1. Read the entire Prologue of P2
    2. Write down the key points
    3. Begin a chapter by chapter outline for P2

Progress Report:
I shall count this as a win.
I looked at the three act structure and roughly matched what I think should happen in P2 to it.
(I also technically read the prologue of P2 that I already had and while it's... okay. It does drag after a while =.=) Key Points were written down tho! Day 4 is a success!

Day 5

Goals:
    1. Work through the 3-Act Structure website and answer all of the questions
    2. Find at least one other source for story structure and apply that too

Progress Report:

Technically I finished reading the 3-Act Structure website... And I figured out how to properly do the climax and how to lead up to it. I count that as a win!

Day 6

Goals:
    1. Read 3 different sources about 3-Act-Structure
    2. Find one that works for me

Progress Report:

So... I had a really long talk with the wife and the sibling and I tend to overthink things again. I didn't really find a thingie that works for me but I have an idea on what to do on April 7th

Day 7

Goals:
    1. Figure out what important info should go into the prologue.
    2. Do the same for Chapter 1 and 3

Progress Report:
And another technicality! Technically I did outline 3 things. The prologue and the two character sections that make up chapter 1. Given the way I write, they are long enough to be chapters in their own right! The only reason they are in the same chapter is because of the thematic link! :3

Day 8

Goal:
Do what I did yesterday for the upcoming sections until what I tentatively called the First Plot Point

Progress Report:
I did everything UNTIL the First Plot Point which is a massive battle and therefore needs more careful thought :3

Day 9

Okay I know Day 9 is almost over but I spent like the last 3 hrs looking for a clean-ish Day 9 video (Gamers, amiright?) and then settled for the one I sent @yoshikrab that one time =D

In any case, goals! For Day9, the best day!! UHhh I guess figuring out the battle sequence consindering that I will have the whole team present for it this time around?

Progress Report:
Yup, battle was successfully planned =D Even found a way to include the absent team members without overwhelming the scene~

Day 10
Time for some writing! Enough planning! (Also on another Discord server, we are having a "for the next 10 days, which team can write the most words" challenge and I kinda need to do some wordsing for that xd)

Goal:
Write/Edit 5000 words!

Progress Report:
2347 words
Aww :(

I guess I share the first paragraph of the story =D
Arriving on the Island… That was horrible. Mainly for Tommy. The others slept right through it.
