July Camp NovMo ‘25 | Janitor’s Edition

My Goal this Camp NovMo is to rewrite and review some of my older works to flush them out. Think of it as a Janitor coming in and cleaning a really really reallyreallyreallyreally dirty room long overdue!

Goals
-Write 12,345 words
-Flush Out Fabrication: Shikri
-Flush Out (and maybe finish?) Box Children
-Continue with The Parrot & The Raven
-New Stories?
-Potentially reach 30,000 words if first goal is already achieved (this is like extra credit)

oh yeah, i also have books i want to finish reading. i’ll be tracking that here since ppl say its a rlly good book and as a writing site, we shoild recommend more books to each other

(also, i'm reading Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I'm still at the beginnings but it's a truly fascinating read as it sets up the characters and tells the tale of one smort octopus)

Like a true janitor, I’ve procrastinated on cleaning up xD
However, i did work on my other goals like reading (more than halfway through the book!) and ive written soke other stories quite a bit!

I can’t recommend Remarkably Bright Creatures enough. It’s such an amazing and fun book and while there’s some mild language warnings, overall it’s very easy to recommend. Check it out if you have at your local library! If they don’t have it you can request for it! (Srsly, libraries are so great and we ought to utilize them more)

Also you’ve probably already seen it but in case you haven’t, I’ve uploaded the badges thread so check it out! (And get some motivation to earn them bc i worked super hard on them >,<!)

Finished reading the book. It was amazing. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good book recommendation for a novel about a really neat octopus.

the last time i recorded my word count it was 1468. I'm a bit behind schedule, but tbf summer quarter has started and I'm taking classes :/ (this is not that much of an excuse tbf, I'm just really in a creative block at a bad time to be in one).

I'm reading a new book called "A beautifully foolish endeavor" by Hank Green (Yes, THAT Hank Green who's the geeky awesome guy who made Crash Course and all the other cool stuff he does).
The prequel (An Absolutely Remarkable Thing) was great but... Uhm Hank, You left us on a cliff hanger how dare you.

Anyways, I'm reading the second one because my life can't function if the stories I read/watched don't have closure. (Which makes sense honestly since I've read so many discontinued webtoons, making my life hardly function)...

oh, one more thing I did/ will add more to: I started a timeline for my stories! It gets really convoluted and confusing real fast with all these characters doing their own things so I made a timeline to hopefully clear some of it out and even get to explore each character's motives a bit more.

your best lines are so unexpected and hilarious and absolutely amazing, Sourdough XD "Making Macarons Gave Me an Existential Crisis" was one of my favs, and orange pie sounds delicious too, regardless of who it was baked by >.>

taking psychology this quarter.
Watched a ted talk on schizophrenia and it matches what my character is going through, so I gave it to her.
What a kind person I am to my OCs ^^
