Hello, fellow YWSers. I have created this poll to discuss the very important issue of... the xD/XD expression. Which is it? Which one do you use? And what is the reasoning behind that probably very well thought out choice? Debate it all here... I am excited for the results!

The correct answer is obvious, my friends. Should you dwell in the unenlightened corner of the internet that still holds fast to the falsehood of XD, let this debate lead you to the truth.
Are we attempting to convey laughter, or are we illustrating the demise of a mythical creature? If the latter, then be my guest - "XD" is indeed a fitting caricature.
Cyclops aside, the perfect symmetry of "XD" is troubling. Science has proven that the natural beauty of an asymmetrical face is far more attractive than its uncanny counterpart.
Furthermore, setting the "x" as lowercase makes it crystal clear that the "xD" is an emoji. Imagine a situation where all-caps energy is necessary. The use of "XD" blends in far too much.
In a similar vein, let us consider the emoji "cousins" to our current subjects: xP and XP. The gamers in our midst will immediately correlate "XP" with "experience points" - not with an emoji! xP and xD can only ever be one thing - THEMSELVES!
"xD" lends a softer, more balanced looked. It feels less forced, less aggressive. The opposition may claim that typing "XD" is "easier" because they can hold the shift key the whole time; in many circles, this laziness is justified, but in a bustling writing community such as ours, surely our dexterous fingertips can manage the additional mental hurdle.

I use both but honestly I'm usually intending to do XD but I fail and end up with xD And then maybe 2% of the time I actually want xD and end up with XD

Guys I don't need to type out a long passage in support of XD, I'm not trying to convince y'all about something that's false, we all know what's right, and that is XD.

I use both, so I don't exactly have a say in this :shrug: (It's XD 100%)
You know, ଳjellyfishଳ can't swim or shine on their own, but once they absorb light from around them, they're able to shine for themselves! So maybe...I can, too! If I'm around you, maybe I'll be able to shine, too? -
