Hello everyone!
TLTSW Chapter 15: Breaking Points is out!
I had a bit of trouble writing this one and if you read it you'll probably see why xD. As it stands, this is the end of 'Part 1' of my story. At this point, I will probably polish things up based on the feedback I have gotten to make this into a novella instead of a 'part 1'.
Hope you enjoy!

Hello again, fellow writers!
I am abbreviating my novel's title to TLTSW. This title is too long and I am lazy.
TLTSW Chapter 12: The Beltian is out!
Ethan is briefed for a minor mission and a few more details about SEKT and the Belt are revealed. Hope you enjoy!

Hey Reaper! Love the snazzy new cover art for your story!
I came here with some #GreenRoomQueries in the spirit of #SocialMonth - take it as a kind of casual author interview: 1. Did you have a particular inspiration to write The Lie that saved the World/ The Lie for Dystopia?
2. What is your favourite thing about writing this novel?
VengefulReaper Hi, Lim!
To answer question 1, it's a pretty funny story.
A while back, my cousins and I had a bet on who'd win the champions league final. Whoever lost had to make a short story out of whatever prompt they gave me.
Long story short... I lost.
My prompt was actually a small segment that had to be included in the story. The summary of it was that Ethan (the MC) lived in a world where Hot Chocolate was illegal. Ethan hated this world because he really liked Hot Chocolate. When he secretly smuggled some Hot Chocolate, he found that there was a virus in the Hot Chocolate. This would kill the entire world and I had to finish the story from the ruins.
There were many internal jokes hidden in the characters of the story. Ethan Rider was a mix between Ethan Hunt for MI and Alex Rider from a kid's espionage book. Steve was meant to be introduced wearing a blue shirt and black pants with brown hair... Like Minecraft Steve.
After crafting possibly the least sensible story possible to hold up my end of the bet, I found a gem hidden somewhere in there, which combined with my passion for revenge stories, political intrigue, and grounded sci-fi brought me to the plotline I have outlined now.
I took the political aspect from The Boys TV show mixed in with a bit of Lex Luthor. The general theme of "finding something to live for" was inspired by the anime Vinland Saga and the exo-suit, high-tech warfare came from the Halo games.
As for your second question... There are so many to choose from. I'd have to go with writing my main cast of characters. My initial idea for Ethan was pure revenge. Emo, depressed, angry and that was it. But I realized over time how difficult it would be to get behind someone so... dark and gloomy. So I decided to turn the story into a redemption story for Ethan who had thrown his entire life away up until this point. My favorite parts are writing his arc, particularly in the second third of the novel (which has a Starkly different feel to the first). Almost like season 2 of a show. It's easily my favorite part of the novel tied with the prologue because I get to write about him and make him more layered the longer the story progresses.
Also, I'm quite conflicted about how to name the story, funny enough. A few have been playing around in my head but I haven't found one that hits the spot. It started as "Agent Rider" then went to "The Lie for Dystopia" then to "The Path to Peace" and then finally to "The lie that saved the world."
So yeah... It's had quite a few titles. I'm too lazy to change it now lol. I'll think of something later...

Liminality Oh wow, that is really fascinating (and funny) to know. I love that hot chocolate has now been replaced by a dangerous radioactive substance xD It's also so interesting to know there were so many different influences - I've seen a bit of some of them, like Vinland Saga, though I've not really sat down and had a look at most of those shows/ stories/ games before.
I love reading about how you changed up the idea of the story to make it more nuanced. Makes me super excited for the 2nd and 3rd partsAlso, I can totally relate to the problem of too many titles. It's always hard to find the one that fits *just* right.

The Lie that Saved the World Chapter 11: Eye of the storm is out.
We switch back to Ethan's POV where he goes for eye surgery at the Alliance base. With the revelation that the Alliance and SEKT may be on the brink of another bio-war, Ethan reflects on the decisions he has and must make in light of the escalating circumstances.
Enjoy!

1. Ask it to proofread your work
2. It correct the grammar of a sentence that isn't even in your work.
3. You correct it.
4. It apologizes and proceeds to rewrite your entire chapter, completely disregarding the plot.
The audacity of this bot...
