Welcome to Lux Academy, Darksbane-to-be! Here at Lux Academy, we have plenty to do and see during your intro posts, whether you come here by car, by public transport within the city, by ship through the river, by the elaborate train system across the country, or by airship, we welcome you all the same!
The Welcoming Ceremony for Initiates begin later in the evening, because the real festivities begin the next morning! The day begins with a tour for Darksbane-to-be and family, which is optional.
During the tour, you'll be able to glimpse into the rich past of Lux Academy as you explore the grounds. You'll be taken to see the training grounds first to explore our state-of-the-art battlegrounds and sparring fields. Then, you'll be guided on over to the Base of Operations, the newest addition to Lux Academy with technology brought in our friends in Whyndsor. After that, the tour goes into the main Lux Hall, underneath the great Lux Tree. After that, you'll get a walktrhough of the dormitories before we end the tour at the historic Geleroe, Statikk, Keleoy, and Marcca Halls, where you'll get a glimpse of the depth of learning that goes on beyond the Academy's walls.
After the tour is over, the Darksbane-to-be and their families will be guided out to the front courtyard just before Lux Hall, where they'll be signed in, their belongings taken to their respective dormitories, and they say their goodbyes to their families.
After being checked in, all Darksbane-to-be will be guided to the Great Hall, where a light evening snack will be provided, and mingling is encouraged. Then, all Darksbane-to-be will have a sleepover in the Great Hall to prepare for their big day tomorrow! If you have any questions, please direct them to the Lux Academy Staff.
Note: A Darksbane-to-be will be asked at check-in to document any weapons and armor they have brought with them, and will be asked to pull them to the side for initiation purposes. They will also be asked in writing if they have any severe allergies or fears.
Lux Academy is built on a hill that overlooks the northern ocean and the river that connects Arturia to the inland. On the side of the ocean, Lux rests atop a cliff face.
When approaching Lux Academy, you'll first see the Lux Crystalline Tree. It reaches deep into the sky and has many crystalline branches that reach out into a canopy. The crystalline tree itself is a shade of deep blue and striking purple, but it also takes on the color of the bright sun when it is out. After taking in the beauty of Lux itself, you'll notice the academy grounds are surrounded by a thick brick and stone wall, encircling it. This wall is from the Prism Wars. After entering the grounds, you'll find freshly manicured courtyards up untiol you reach the academy itself. All of the buildings were built around Lux Tower in a semi-circle. The dorms and the library are the oldest buildings on the campus, housing the dark obsidian stone from even before the Prism Wars, although they have been updated to contain all the housing accomodations.
On the main central path leading up to Lux Tower, you'll see the training fields to the left. Beyond the training fields are the base of operations. To the right are the academic buildings, including the large library. Beyond those buildings are the dorms. The campus is built to have the focal point be the tower itself. At all times, one will feel the presence of Lux, and so the training will all happen at around the same proximity to Lux Tower.
Only those who were cultured enough in international affairs would realize
Chite imagined his feet stepping on all the little ants. Step, step.
he unclipped a pair of sunglasses from his front pocket and put them on
If it were up to Chite, none of them looked like they belonged there, so none of them would have made it past the first step; no initiation needed.
He knew that Arturia had less advance networking compared to home, but this was bordering on ridiculous.
"Yes, Master Sterling. I have a train ticket, here."
Kaso embraced Chite suddenly and tightly.
imagining the stars that clung stubbornly to the heavens.
destiny was just another excuse people made for the things they were too afraid to change themselves. Still... Lazuli wanted to believe in something bigger.
Justyn exhaled through his nose, a flicker of amusement appearing on his face for the briefest second. "I wasn't going to ask."
Laz's arms stayed pinned to her side for a heartbeat too long before she patted Justyn's back.
Maybe coming here was a mistake.
Maybe it was exactly what she needed.
A warm wind blew, shaking the golden sun warmed wheat in the fields like shimmering gilded waves that would feed all of Destian, stretching out for miles across the land.
Anyone else in her place may have had thoughts about turning back, of considering the danger of becoming a darksbane too much. But not Pyrope. If fact, she couldn't even fathom having any of those thoughts.
Someone had apparently decided to arrive in style.
Maybe they were new or had lived in the city and never seen a horse before.
None : )
