"Unfortunately so." He said, nodding as the walked. He felt better about Zee and her intentions, but his mind was still sharp towards his surroundings.

She brought him to a pair of automatic double doors and pressed her thumb to a little pad beside them. They slid open, revealing the dining room and the array of food laid out on the table.

Thalassa turned as Zee entered. "Ah, Sirejj." She, too, eyed his clothing as she stood to shake his hand. "Please, join me in eating. How are you?" She hadn't aged much in the year since they'd last seen each other, though the pits under her eyes were perhaps a little deeper and her smile a little more strained.

Senator Thamer, limp in his bonds, hardly reacted to the arrival of the Zabrak.

"As well as ever, My Lady." He grasped her hand in his and shook it. Being severely under dressed was no excuse to lose one's manners. "Yourself?" He shot a brief glance at her prisoner, a curious glint in his eyes. "I do hope I'm not disturbing you and your company."

"Busier than ever but keeping myself sane. And don't worry about him." She waved a hand dismissively. "Actually, perhaps I ought to introduce you. Sirejj, I suppose you've heard of Senator Jybo Thamer of Toledian? He's my guest for the next few days, isn't that right Senator?" A pause with no response, and Thalassa gave Zee an exasperated look.

"His manners need a little brushing up," Zee informed Sirejj cheerily, then walked over and slapped Thamer in the face. He jerked back to consciousness and looked up with tears in his eyes.

"Don't worry about him, as I said," Thalassa said to Sirejj, and sat back down. "And you've met my second, Zee Suna, of course. Now come, sit! I've had a plate made up for you." She gestured to it. "Tell me to what I owe this visit."

Her countenance was forcibly cheery, but he chose not to pick at her for now. He sat down. "Can't say I've heard much of the fellow, but he must be of some importance to be sitting here." The scene was much different from the Thalassa he'd met on Eriadu, but he couldn't say he was surprised.

"I will not waste your time." He glanced down at his plate and took up a fork, but waited to eat. "I have come to offer my services to you and your company."

"Words are tricky things, Sirejj." She slid a bottle of wine over to him and resumed her meal. "I keep two separate payrolls, as I'm sure you know. Are you interviewing for Motti Industries or the Treacle?"

"I'd place a bet on Treacle if I were a gambler," Zee said with a chuckle, resting her arms atop Thamer's head. "Should I remove our guest, Lassa?"

"Leave him where he is," Thalassa said firmly. "I said five courses, and I meant five courses. He won't say anything to anyone, will you, Thamer?"

Thamer let out a little sob.

"No, I didn't think so. You carry on, Zee. I'll speak to Sirejj in the meantime."

"Your right-hand is correct, but I will go where needed most." He took a single bite of food and savored it, ignoring the other scene going on in the room. He'd ask about that later. "Beggars can't be choosers, My Lady." He chuckled.

"Agreed." Thalassa leaned back in her chair. "I had assumed I wouldn't be seeing you again. But make no mistake--I was grateful for your assistance with the matter last year. If you need work, you can find a place here. I assume you're looking for another bodyguarding position?"

"I think we've got that covered," Zee said, amused. She rebandaged her hands and cracked her knuckles."

"I need you here, though." Thalassa smiled at her. "You can't be everywhere at once."

"Unfortunately."

"As I said, I can go where needed. I do have a slightly broader résumé than bodyguarding, as you've seen." He took the bottle in front of him and poured himself a glass, amused by the discourse between the other two.

"How much do you know about the Treacle?" Thalassa asked. "Oh, and F2, let's move on to the fourth course."

"Yes, Lady Motti." The droid bowed and swept out of the room.

"Aside from its formidable reputation and what I've gleaned from our past meetings, a precious little I'm afraid." He glanced up at her. "Nothing of the internal workings."

"And you still come asking if you can work here." She sipped her wine with a little chuckle. "Fair enough. As you said, beggars can't be choosers. Let me ask this, then, as bluntly as I can: Do you have qualms with the drug trade?"

"Good. Neither do I." Thalassa drummed her fingers on the table, looking at him hard for a long moment. "Why now? Why come to me looking for work after a year?"

"People have gotten tight with their employees. I've never been a part of the guilds, so don't have much of a reputation to ride on." He frowned slightly. "And, few syndicates are as strong as your own. Even the Empire recognizes this." He knew that he'd be afforded more protection here than if working for anyone else. He took a sip from his glass and then set it down. "I was also unsure of how I would be received here in highlight of...recent events." He said after a moment of thought.
