Question: are our characters going to be friends? like are we going to be a group of friends who jokingly join this competition thinking there no way we get through and then all of a sudden we're doing well or something?
That's such a good question. I think what happens (correct me if I'm wrong, Ley) is that we've all become the best of the best in our element areas, so we've either been training under the element master or our area, or we've been invited to come compete. I think the competition is probably closed. The idea is that we have one round of us basically winning against all the other people of our element (I'm earth, so my character defeats all the other earth people up for the title). We think that's the end of it, and now we're the Masters. The government goes "Nope! Actually, now we're gonna drop you in an arena and you have to survive for [amount of time]. If someone else of your element kills you, then THEY get the title of Master, unless someone kills them, in which case THAT person gets it."
So we can be friends beforehand or we could be complete strangers or we could be enemies. But now we're forced to stick together regardless because it's the only way to survive.

I think they could start out as strangers since they're all from different parts of the country :D I added some lore on each city.
But yes what Winter said is correct! Phase 1 would only be 1 round of posts long. We can think of it like intro posts. And then Phase two will be long, and that's when stuff really starts getting crazy XD They would def group up in Phase 2 so that they each had a better chance of surviving.
