The contestants are all there together. They got kidnapped from their rooms after the ceremony/mentor meeting! Your character should wake up in the desert, tied up, loopy, and surrounded by all the other Champions.
If you all would like, in your posts, you guys can move onto the Champions trying to find shelter, water, etc. It should get increasingly hot the more time they spend there.
