Aurora’s life has always been perfect. She had a family who loved her, she always had straight As, and a big group of friends. She never thought it could be anything different. But as she grows older, she becomes more curious about the world around her. Why did she have to wear goggles every time she went outside? Why did she have fainting spells that were getting increasingly longer and hard to remember? And for some reason, it seemed that everyone around her knew something that she didn’t. And she couldn’t figure out what.

Aurora unravels shocking secrets about her life, and discovers that her perfect life may not have been so perfect after all.

Elevator Pitch

Thirteen-year-old Aurora is a test subject in an experiment where an attemp is made to make someone have a seemingly perfect life. Her whole life, she has never been taught any negative words, and if anything goes wrong, her memories are immediately erased. All the people around her have been told to not tell her anything about the truth. But one day, she starts to find out more about the secret, and slowly unravels what has been happening behind her back.

This idea sounds cool! It reminds me of the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld (one of my favorites!!) Highly recommend if you haven't read them Best of luck this NaNo, I'm excited to see how your story develops!

I'm off to an okay start I guess. Could be worse could be better. But I am so happy to get back into writing! I feel like I haven't written a novel in so long. (Which is true)

Definitely better than yesterday, but not as good as day one. I will try to be more productive tomorrow though. I added a quote at the start of the document that is relevant to this novel. It's “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.” which is from As You Like It, a Shakespeare play. The draft total counts the word count for this quote by the way.

Oof I did not write a lot today, which is not really good. I just realized that my chapters were too short, and also my plot is moving too quickly, so yeah.

Today was a very bad NaNo day. I am getting less and less work done every day as each day progresses, and I'm scared that one day, the word count will be zero. And also I'm worried because I have to edit things, but I don't want to because it would be hard to calculate how many words I typed, but I think I have to in order to fix this novel, because the pacing and length of chapters is wrong. I'm really hoping I can fix it in the coming days. (I just wrote more here than in my Nano. That's really sad.)

Hey, don't beat yourself up about it. Even if you can't crank out your full word goal, at least you got some words on the page and actually started writing. That's more than a lot of people can say. And you're already on Chapter 3! I read something that this one author said, and I think it goes something like, if you can write three whole chapters in a book and still want the story to keep going, then it's worth writing the rest of. <333333

I got more done today! I am actually happy I got more done today than yesterday, so maybe I can write more in the following days? And now I kinda know what I'm doing, but now I have to rewrite the first chapter and maybe use what I used as the first chapter for a later chapter. But, I'm working on it!
