23 Napo Poem

when the earth was first made
there was know one and nothing living on it
but now as our world spins we continue
to go about our daily lives
but we've forgotten
that the earth was here before us
and it is not something that we can control
there for we have lost respect for its power
and we continue to hurt all nature that lives around us
but I am calling to you now to stop
and let mother nature take its course
don't try to control it
for this world holds powers without bounds.

24 Napo Poem

They say that wounds heal
but what they don't say is that
it leaves permanent scares
that only fade as the years drag by
it's left there to remind us
of our past
and the trauma that it caused
but I like to think that it's there
to teach us a lesson
so that we can learn from our past mistakes.

25 Napo Poem

I've got nothing left for you
not a word that I have to say to you
I'm tired of hearing your voice
and the bitter things
that come from your very lips
this is over I will not put up with this any longer
you can try to take me back
but I all ready long gone.

You are doing so great and staying right on track! I especially love the one from April 21 and your earth day one. Keep up the great work Doss!

26 Napo Poem

I now from past mistakes
That we all hold on to stuff
That we don't have to
There are things that glide on the surface
That should have been gone years ago
But it's also because of the way
That these things affect you
Don't let it take control
But realize that your feels are valid
But you have to deal with this
And then let it go
Don't hold on to something
That will inevitably destroy you later.

27 Napo Poem/Lyrics

Stars like large snow flakes
shooting across the sky
lifting me way up high
oh tell me how I'm supposed to
let you go
with someone that you don't even know
I don't understand
how you could have done this to me
but I guess I never really understood what we had
maybe even if you had stayed
it still would have ended like that
I guess it's the regret of letting you go
because it stuck with me
and it'll stay here for eternity
for I'll never let go of this regret
I guess this is something
that has to happen
at least once in someone's life
but I want you to know I'll be right here
if you ever come running back to me
because I still
want you

Hearts like harsh hurricanes
there broken in the middle
and there shards fly out
like splinters that cut into your skin
and never leave
you think because your broken
that you can break the rest of us
but why can't you see
that, that's unnecessary
because maybe if I could trust you
I'd try to help you to
but you've pushed me to far away now
that your unfixable.

You lift me up and you hold me
you guide me through
these endless roads
that never leads to a place of refuge
it's tort me to enjoy
every moment in my life
weather it's perfect
or shattered to know repair.

Oh I lay there
waiting for the time to pass
hoping that the pain will not last
but now
in some I way I new
it had gone to fast
pains not something
that just suddenly dissipates
Oh but now it's back with vengeance
and I can't seem to get control over it
because it has
taken over me
I was hoping
that we could be friends again
but I guess that's goanna have to wait
because your now
the cause of my anger
so I'm goanna try
to leave it all behind.

Doss!! You did it!! Congratulations on completing NaPo, and I think you managed to do Poem-A-Day too! That's a wonderful accomplishment and you've got so many good poems in your thread this year too.

In your last set - I love the image of a star-like snowflake (poem 27) and I think poem 29 is incredibly sweet and a heart-warming reflection. Great job friend!
