(I'll try! I'm "teleworking" today but we will see how much actually gets done lol thankfully I'm already coughing less than yesterday so I'm hopeful the meds will work c: )

"...Oh." She blinked. "I... I'm not sure, I didn't think about that, I just assumed I wouldn't be able to do that." She hesitated, trying to remember. "Do you... have? Blank rune bones here?"

(My pcr came back positive, as did my sister's rapid test. My brother is currently experiencing symptoms. My grandpa is fine now but wow what a week)

(Are you doing better??)

"...Blank rune bones," he repeated in amusement. "No, that's not a thing. You pick a bone yourself from anywhere. The woods, the stew pot, wherever. It's the message that matters."

(Nuuu I’m sorry!!! That’s the worst ;-; how are you feeling? I’m mostly better. Still have a cough but way better than I was)

“…oh.” She felt stupid and blushed a little, nodding sheepishly. “That makes sense. And… I can just… carve it? And it’ll work?”

(I feel great! Got sick the day we drove back and I've still got a stuffy nose, but I'm just coming out of it. My little brother seems like he has it worse than me; he's usually jumping at the chance to hang out with me and my sister but he ended up saying he'd rather stay in bed today. Poor little dude)

"That's how it goes, yes."

(Aww poor kid. Hope you all feel all better quick! COVID is the worst)

She nodded. “Maybe… I could take one from Rönn’s deer? Or….? I… don’t know. I’ve never done something like this before.”

(Very much so. Thank you! I'm glad you're doing better at least!)

"That could certainly work." Gaius dipped his head. "I'm going to make my prayer now, if that's alright. Come get me when you're ready for me to help you, if you like."

“Okay.” She nodded, glancing down at the goat. “Do you…. Uh… need — want— help?” He’d chosen a big goat, given the fact it was fully mobile and he wasn’t.

"Not at all, thank you." He gave the goat a pat. "Don't let them see the knife until it's already in their throat, and they won't give any trouble. I learned that in exile."

“…oh.” She nodded, looking at it. “Are you… allowed to use goats? Since Builder…”

"Builder isn't around to stop me," Gaius said with a shrug. "Sacrificing goats has been going on for five hundred years."

She nodded slowly. “But if he’s waking up…”

(I’m watching Cyrano with my bestie and this is excellent)

"Then I suppose he'll turn me into a goat," Gaius replied with a shrug. "I'll take my chances, and he can take it up with the sacrifice's recipient."

(Oh man I do gotta watch it still)

(We stopped like half way because she got sleepy lol she’s showing me a new version I’ve never seen and it’s lovely. We somehow mutually did not know about the others’ obsession with it and were geeking out lol. I was rambling about our RP and she was like omg I didn’t know you liked Cyrano have you seen this version it’s my fav”)

Ky frowned a bit at that. “It’s not a joke…” how could he possibly look at Rönn and think it was okay to be flippant about something like this? Builder could and would turn people into goats. For hundreds of years.

"Of course it isn't." He glanced at her. "You thought I'd take it as such? We know each other better than that, surely."

She glanced at him, then glanced at the goat. “… well… just as long as you’re sure….”
