Ky shivered. “Why would he give you a power like this? You’re basically a god yourself now… except you don’t have power. Well. I guess you do have a lot of power. Just not god-power. But… all knowing…”

"All-knowing with limits," he pointed out. "I can't describe to you how hard it is to get my words to come out in order. And to have memories that are my own--everything is muddled. I can't organize it for long before it goes back into a rush. I'm constantly receiving new information, paths are being set and created and--" He shook his head, grimacing. "I can't bear to think anymore."

“…I imagine you’ll get accustomed to it,” Ky said after a moment. “It’s only been a few minutes.”

"It comes and goes," he said grimly. "And I won't grt accustomed to it. Not really."

“It’s only been a few minutes,” she reiterated. “You can’t base the future on something brand new. Of course it’ll be disorienting at first.”

"You don't understand," he sighed. "This is it. On every path, this is how my mind will be. How it will always be. And I either go mad from it or I push forward and master the acquisition of information, even as it causes me pain. Those are my choices."

Ky grimaced. “Could you ask him to take it away? Or why he gave it to you to begin with?

"He won't take it away and he gave it to me because I represent a strong example of his values. He's the god of knowledge and justice, two things I hold very dear, and my contacting him tonight only confirmed what he wished of me in his dream-state."

"That's what the goat was for," he said. "He's always been the god I most resonated with, and I believe in my cause against Tarr--even more so, now. I wanted to send a prayer for his favor in the war. It seems this is his response--I know Tarr's moves before he makes them, now."

Ky blinked. “… well… I guess that’s useful, yeah.”

"It's vital. It saves lives," he responded. "I can minimize losses exponentially."

Ky nodded. “Good… and… you know when the gods wake up, now? Like, exactly? You know where to go now?”

He hadn't thought to check.
"...I know when they'll wake," he said with a nod. "And I know where we ought to go--who will accept us and leave us in the least debt."

She looked at him impatiently. He better not play coy. “And…?”
