(Tomorrow makes a week since the last time I saw a cockroach and lemme tell you I had a fucking heart attack when I saw four of these motherfuckers caught in sticky traps by my dragon's tank and thought the infestation came back) (on the plus side this is confirmation that those traps do in fact trap insects trying to migrate around my dragon's tank lol so I feel more confident that no roaches made them past into his tank which is why they were there to begin with)

(ish. They eat dubia roaches and I imagine he'd gobble up these german fuckers in a heartbeat buuuut the problem is that I am not sure they're safe for him. Doubly so because I've been poisoning them. And reptiles are actually hella sensitive to bioaccumulation aka a bug that has poison in its gut becomes poisonous to the dragon. So I've been scared as fuck that a roach was going to get in his tank and potentially poison him. I have a solid ring of traps around his entire tank in hopes of preventing that)

(lmao thanks me too! This situation has perfectly highlighted why I should never have human children though lol I would helicopter parent so bad. I've just lived in constant fear that I was going to secondarily poison one of my pets through this whole event and my anxiety wouldn't be able to handle having a human child lol)

(Human children are scary as fuck. I say that as the sister of two and the cousin of many)

(shiiiit yeah there's that too lol my shitty fucking sister moved back in with my parents when I was 15 and her son was 7 months and I ended up having to mother the kid for a few months until she got on her feet again. And I love that little boy and he's got a special place in my heart even now, more so than my other nieces and nephews. But it made me vow never to have children lol I have an appointment with my obgyn to ask about getting sterilized in two weeks. I want no part in that for realsies lol)

(That's fair; they're a lot of work and it's stressful to even think about. Lots of responsibility and potential guilt. But I wanna be a mom so badly. I want to show a little someone the world and raise them to love it the way my parents did for me. I have so much I want to give them.)

(Totally fair! You've got your whole life ahead of you; no need to rush it at all c: ) (despite everything I just said lol I have also contemplated fostering/adopting teens once I get a bit older and more established. The foster care system is so horrifically broken and older kids just get fucking abandoned in group homes and prison as they age out with no sense of stability or continuity in their lives. Especially lgbtq ones. I do much better with teens than I do small children and I think it would be an insanely challenging path and yet something I'd be good at to work with teens. I'm still young enough to know how to speak gen z lol but old enough I'm learning how to navigate the world and help others along the way as well) (watch me end up a single 35-year-old 'mom' with this pack of high school kids in my house lol)
