She ducked her head and shuffled towards the door feeling very badly about herself. What kind of a monster would leave someone crying? And yet he’d told her to leave. What was she supposed to do? She moved slowly to give him an opportunity to say something else if he wanted to. Change his mind about her leaving; change his mind about her going to get someone else to comfort him. She didn’t know what to do. She was too emotionally fatigued to read this volatile man.
