Speaking as someone who has instructed college-level bio labs when students can explain to me the concept but forget the terms I am a lot more lenient with grading than I am with the students who word-vomit terminology at me while it is flagrantly apparent they have no idea what the words they memorized mean)

(I knew exactly what they were but I felt bad not remembering the terms. My professor for this class is a bit more traditional in her grading style so I have a feeling I'll get points off for forgetting. This is not the art history course I wanted at all but at least I'm learning things I wouldn't have learned if I'd stuck to my preferred area)

(Yeah. I'm more interested in the Baroque movement and western medieval art, but the medieval art course I signed up for turned out to be Silk Road art, and it's more history than art. Which is not at all what I want. There should be a better balance between art and history in an art history course.)

(Ahh eww yeah no that's not very clear. I took an early British literature course in undergrad because I was forced to take a lit course (lowkey salty about that one lol in my school you were supposed to take English 101, 102, and 103 -- 101 being like grammar, 102 being a really, really, really tough composition class, and 103 being literature broadly but easy. I tested out of 101 with my ACT scores so they yeeted freshman shady into 102 first semester which sucked lol and then because I got out of 101 they forced me to take an upperclassman lit class for a third English class? It was a scam. I thought I was getting out of an English class lol) but I thought it was going to be like Beowulf and that sort of thing which was my vibe and it very much Was Not -- she did like,,, one? lecture on it even though it was on the syllabus -- and the rest of the units sucked. So I can sympathize on not getting what you expected lol)
